The time-saving beauty product Mackenzie Arnold uses everyday before training
"[I'm] all about the little hacks that make your life easier"
Matildas keeper (and national icon) Mackenzie Arnold may spend most of her time training on the pitch but that doesn't mean she doesn't dedicate some of her time to beauty rituals like the rest of us. She's just strategic about the beauty products she does use to accommodate her time-poor schedule as a professional athlete.
Much like her team mate Mary Fowler's one-step skin care routine, Arnold prioritises a single step in her hair care routine that allows her to confidently get ready in under 20 minutes. Hint: She's not spending her mornings fussing around with creative alternatives to the signature top knot she rocks on the pitch.
"I don’t have a complex beauty and hair care routine. I prefer a low-fuss approach and am all about the little hacks that make your life easier," she said in a recent statement. "I like to kickstart the day with either a walk with my dog or a gym session, and then I am racing back home to shower and get ready for a day of meetings or training."
"The Dyson Airstrait ($749 from Dyson) has absolutely saved my morning routine - I can be out of the shower and in a matter of 15-20 minutes my hair is done and I’m out the door. It’s user friendly and always leaves my hair feeling shiny and looking super healthy," explained the newly appointed Dyson ambassador.
"Having a tool that works fast and can easily fit into my demanding schedule is really important for me," Arnold shared, saying the speedy styling tool has allowed her to streamline her hair care routine, combining three steps in one — drying, smoothing and straightening.
But it hasn't just saved her time. The Dyson Airstrait ($749 from Dyson) has reframed her relationship with her hair, as well as forcing her to consider the overall health of her strands too.
"As a professional athlete I spend so much of my time with my hair in a bun," she confessed. "I’ve also never really felt comfortable wearing it out as my hair it’s thick and wavy, but when I tried the Airstrait ($749 from Dyson), I was blown away at how quickly it transformed my hair from wet to natural straight, and the best part, without the heat damage."
"As I have gotten older, hair health has become more of a priority for me," she continued. "I am more mindful of the products and tools that I am using to maintain hair growth and shine."
According to Arnold, the Dyson Airstrait ($749 from Dyson) ticks a lot of her boxes, using the wet-to-dry styling tool's precision airflow and intelligent heat control in place of hot plates to dry and straighten has helped to preserve the strength and natural shine of her hair. She's noticed less breakage since she started using the innovative hair tool, but most importantly her hair is looking and feeling healthier than ever before.
