Laura Dern uses this surprising skin care product to touch up her makeup on the Big Little Lies set
The actress has a *very* low-key approach to beauty
Laura Dern’s Big Little Lies character Renata Klein is just about as extra as they come.
So, it’s a little surprising to find out that Laura Dern’s on-set makeup routine is actually relatively low-key. In fact, the newly announced True Botanicals ambassador actually only uses one product to touch up her makeup while filming – True Botanicals Pure Radiance Oil.
“If I’m filming, my makeup artist will use the True Botanicals Pure Radiance Oil just to touch up, so we don’t even add more makeup,” Laura explained in a recent interview with Well and Good. “It just refreshes the skin a little bit for a glow, but also, if things are getting into lines or pores, you can just smooth out the skin a little bit [with it], which is really nice.”
Laura is a long-time fan of facial oils; in fact, her go-to makeup look is facial oil applied all over the face and a statement red lip. “Since I was a teenager and even in my early twenties… I can have no makeup but just my face oil and a great lipstick, so that’s sort of my thing.”

She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends.
