After almost two years since the critically-acclaimed first season of HBO’s Big Little Lies aired, the second instalment to the series is *finally* here.

The TV drama, set in Monterey, California, is based on Australian author Liane Moriarty's novel (which bears the same name), and the first season claimed a whopping eight Emmys and four Golden Globes, as well as SAG awards for both Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård.

Yep, it was a pretty huge moment in television and no doubt we're in for a wild ride with the second instalment of the HBO series coming soon.

So, while we wait in suspense to see what new twists and turns the second season delivers, we’re over here taking in all the best beauty looks spotted on the red carpet at the show’s New York premiere.

Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon plays one of the lead female protagonists in the series, Madeline Martha Mackenzie. For the premiere, she stepped out looking beautifully sun-kissed with a pretty winged eyeliner look.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman, who plays Celeste Wright, the abused housewife of Perry Wright in the TV series, opted for a berry lip and wore her trademark red locks loose with gentle waves.

Meryl Streep

Hollywood heavy-hitter Meryl Streep has joined the cast in season two and is set to play Mary Louise Wright. While low-key, her makeup looked stunning, and we loved her pretty brushed-back half-up/half-down ‘do.

Laura Dern

Laura Dern (aka Renata Klein, a career-driven mother who becomes an anti-bullying crusader when her daughter Amabella is harmed at school), went for a glam side-swept hairstyle with tousled waves and softly lined eyes.

Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley plays Jane Chapman, the town’s newcomer, in the series. She stunned at the premiere with this ultra-glam hairstyle and smoky-grey eye look. We’re loving the ’60 vibe she’s got going on.

Zoe Kravitz

Zoe Kravitz plays a yoga instructor named Bonnie Carlson who's married to Madeline's ex-husband, Nathan Carlson. She smouldered on the red carpet with this neutral-toned makeup look and long braids.
