Kylie Jenner dyed her hair pink with this $27 product
Wait, we can actually afford this!
Unless you’ve been living under a Kardashian-Jenner-proof rock, you’ve now seen Kylie Jenner’s latest hair update – a fairy floss pink hue that looks *so* damn cool.
We’d be lying if we said we didn’t want to copy it, but who has time to duck into the hairdresser and spend a pretty penny on a new hair colour? We certainly don’t. Although it turns out, we don’t even need to. Kylie actually used a very affordable product to dye her hair pink.
Got $27? Yep – we can now all finally afford part of a celeb’s beauty routine.
Celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, who is responsible for this droolworthy bubblegum pink shade, posted a photo of Kylie and her new hair colour on Instagram, captioning the pic “Think pink LOVE this pink we did on @kyliejenner”. Kylie was pictured with her hair up in a messy bun, both the new colour and fresh Yeezys in check.
Appleton then went on to dish out all the glorious details on how you can get the look at home, and it appears he mixed a few different shades together to make it so bright and brilliant. He wrote, “To get the look, I was super gentle on the hair and used @limecrimemakeup Unicorn Hair Tint In Kawaii and Bunny and used Lime Crime’s Dilute Hair Mixer to make a super soft frosted pink.”
*Cue some crazed Googling*
YES they come in a whole rainbow of delicious-looking colours, and YES they’re available in Australia. Unicorn Hair Tints are damage-free, ultra-conditioning and totally DIY-friendly, meaning you don’t have to sacrifice the health of your locks to nab pastel strands.
Of course, Kylie’s new look is only temporary and the colour will gradually wash out within four to six weeks. Not too bad for a $27 product, huh?
Appleton said he also mixed in Olaplex No. 1 Bond Multiplier with the colour to ensure the hair stayed healthy and strong. On Instagram, Appleton posted a shot of the two Unicorn Hair Tints and the celeb-approved Olaplex No. 1 Bond Multiplier, captioning it, “Guess who? Always have my @olaplex on hand during the color process”.
Haven’t heard of Olaplex No. 1 before? This bad boy has a global cult following and is a firm celeb fave - Emma Stone, Drew Barrymore, Jessica Biel, Chrissy Teigen and Kim Kardashian are all fans. Added directly to a hair dye or lightener, it protects and rebuilds hair during colouring. But…Olaplex No. 1 is an in-salon treatment, so you will have to book in with a pro to get it applied.
To finish, Appleton used Color Wow Color Security Conditioner (which will only set you back $12.95!) to deeply condition and reinforce the bonds of the hair. If you’re colour-obsessed, you need this in your hair kit, ASAP.
Voila! You can now afford to copy Kylie Jenner’s style without taking out a loan.
