Kendall Jenner wore a makeup brand she rarely has before at the Oscars
The Kar-Jenner sisters are all about support – it’s one of the things that makes their family (and thus their show) great. But with as many businesses as they have, it can be tricky to show support for every brand that they come out with. Like is it even safe to take Kourtney Kardashian's viral vaginal gummies and drink Kendall Jenner's 818 tequila at the same time?!
So while you might think that Kendall would rely on sister Kylie’s namesake Kylie Cosmetics for every red carpet, she generally spreads the makeup-wearing love around. For the Oscars 2023 Vanity Fair party, however, Kendall committed to a full face of her family brand, and here's everything you need to know...
Kendall Jenner's 2023 Oscars after-party makeup
Makeup artist Mary Phillips broke down the elder Jenner sister’s look in an Instagram post, revealing that not a single other brand was used to create it. And considering she only breaks out the Kylie Cosmetics for select major events (usually just the Met Gala) unless she’s promoting a 'Kendall' collection, our 'collab coming soon' senses are tingling.
A few savvy commenters even noted that it was a fairly rare sighting to see her wearing all Kylie Cosmetics. “Hmm first time I’ve seen her use her sisters makeup brand…,” one commenter wrote, sounding a touch suspicious. Another was impressed by the results, saying: “wow with all kylie cos😍.
It’s definitely a nice showcase of sisterly support, especially considering all the other brands who would be itching to have Kendall step out in their stuff. She did spend several years as the face of Estée Lauder right at the same time that Kylie Cosmetics launched (and has also voiced her love for brands from M.A.C and Chanel to Giorgio Armani and NARS), so perhaps she’s making up for lost time.
Hey, if we had a constant flow of free Kylie's products at our disposal, we’d want to show them off too. After all, is there any better ally for a beauty brand founder than a supermodel sister? The duo have definitely come a long way since the infamous ‘Kylie makes a modelling book because Kendall made a modelling book’ era of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. We love to see siblings forging their own paths but still hyping up each other's projects.
How to get Kendall Jenner's 2023 Oscars after-party makeup look
So which Kylie Cosmetics products went into Kendall's exact Oscars after-party look? Phillips noted that the aesthetic heroed smokey cocoa shades on the eyes, a generous application of bronzer, and a cream-to-powder lip in a rich, warm nude colour.
She defined Kendall’s eyes using the shades ‘Tell Me More’ and ‘Unmatched’ from the Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow Palette ($48 at MECCA), dusted her cheeks with the Kylie Cosmetics Pressed Bronzing Powder ($32 at MECCA), and painted her lips in the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Blush Kit in 'Sister Sister' ($53 at MECCA). A fitting shade indeed!
