Jennifer Aniston shares her go-to workout for staying in shape
Hint: It’s not yoga!
Jennifer Aniston is the ultimate #bodygoals (she's actually got the top celeb body Australian women aspire to look like). With those toned arms and sculpted legs, she’s forever killing it on the red carpet - and we’ve always wanted to know her fitness secrets. So when she dished out the details of her go-to workout for keeping in shape in an interview with InStyle US, you’re going to bet we were all ears.
And you may actually be surprised at her exercise of choice.
While she’s spoken about her love for yoga in the past, it seems the actress has taken a shining to a slightly more intense exercise as of late.
The star says she’s started kicking things up a notch with a new-found love for boxing, “Last year I discovered boxing, and I love it,” she says.
“I have this trainer named Leyon, who I believe hung the moon. It’s the longest workout I’ve actually stayed with consistently other than yoga.”
There’s a reason why boxing is becoming the workout of choice for celebs and models alike. Not only is it a hardcore strength and cardio session in one, but it also improves a whole bunch of skills including balance and coordination.
And according to Jen, it’s also the best way to get in tune with your inner bad ass. “Boxing is a great way to get aggression out. You get a mental release of all this crap you’re taking into your ears and eyes every day and have little fantasy moments imagining who you’re actually punching,” she says.
Unlike running on a treadmill, boxing requires complete focus and Jen explains there’s always something new to learn. “There’s something about the mental aspect of boxing — the drills, your brain has to work, you’re not just sitting on a bike. It’s amazing.”
Is it just us, or are you also suddenly pumped to sweat it out in the ring?
