We can’t get enough of this new season trend
From sleek black yoga leggings, to contrasting fabrics, and even bright accessories, sport-luxe is one of our favourite fashion trends to date. Over the past few seasons, the trend has dominated international runways and is a favourite amongst street-stylers for one reason: it makes you look effortlessly cool, but is super comfortable at the same time. The same can be said for rocking the trend on your face - simply pick your favourite colours, mix and match textures, and go. Here’s how to do it…
1
Shine it up
Glossy textures like acetate and plastic are always present when you’re talking about sports gear (hello sunnies and visors). Apply the same concept to your lips; Rimmel London Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipstick not only feels light and hydrating on your smackers, but the finish is just lightly tinted, lustrous, and super shiny. Pick from one of six shades that range from classic nude (for times when you need to add instant polish to your look), to gorgeous pinks that make a statement.
2
Perfect your base
The sport-luxe trend is all about hi-tech fabrics. Embrace this futuristic texture with supernatural-looking skin with a lighter-coverage base, like a BB or CC cream that’ll even out your skintone, and leave your skin looking dewy and fresh. Finish with a dab of liquid highlighter on cheek and brow bones to accentuate these features.
3
Enhance your lashes
The best thing about wearing compression tights is how flattering they look on your legs. Try the same with your makeup kit to accentuate your facial features. The easiest way? With mascara. A lengthening mascara will elongate your natural lashes and make them look their best.
4
Paint it on
Just like a pair of bright-coloured kicks can perk up an ordinary outfit, the same can be said for what a bold manicure can do for your beauty look. Add a jolt of personality to your style with some neon nail polish; yellow, pink and orange work well on their own here, or wear them all on different fingers for a customised look.
5
Add texture
A must-have to rocking the sporty look is cool-girl, textured hair. If you’re nimble with your fingers, fishtail braid all the way down, and secure it off with a thin clear elastic band. If you’re in a rush, a quick plait also works well in this case.
