Hailey Bieber used this $13 product to style her Oscars hair
After Hailey Bieber chopped off her locks and debuted a bob earlier this year, we’ve seen a slew of TikTok creators tell us that short hair is the trend of the moment.
Our only issue is, if we’re going to go to the trouble of copying Bieber’s new cropped ‘do, we want to know how to get the same effortless, glossy waves as her too.
Lucky for us, her hairstylist Bryce Scarlett is keenly aware of the demand for Hailey Bieber’s beauty routine.
Scarlett delivered a full rundown of the hair styling products he used to create the Rhode Skin founder’s chic bob for the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party.
Believe it or not, he actually used a budget-friendly brand for the whole look — John Frieda.
The product lineup consisted of Frieda’s classic anti-frizz serum, hairspray and finishing cream, but the star of the show was definitely the John Frieda Vibrant Shine 3 in 1 Spray (was $20.99 now $12.59 at Priceline).
The impressive multitasker can be used to impart shine, smooth strands, and it even protects against heat damage (up to 200°C) during styling.
Simply spritz onto damp hair and comb it through your strands to evenly distribute the product, then style as usual.
How to recreate Hailey Bieber’s Oscars hair
If you’d like to emulate Bieber’s refined Hollywood waves, we’d suggest creating uniform curls first using a curling wand with a medium or large-sized barrel.
Allow the curls to cool and then smooth a boar bristle brush through your strands.
Finally, pin the hair around the face to maintain the shape of the wave using no-crease styling clips.
We recommend:
Muk Curl Stick V 2.0 ($179.95 at Adore Beauty); Denman Natural Bristle Single Nylon Quill Large Grooming Brush ($61.95 at Adore Beauty); and Kitsch Eco-Friendly Creaseless Clips ($14 at Adore Beauty).
Bieber delivered on budget-friendly hair styling products for the after party, but when it came to the main event they didn’t scrimp or save — the Oscars goodie bag included $62,000 worth of cosmetic procedure vouchers.
