Hailey Bieber was just spotted wearing a concrete-inspired nail colour
Grey nails are the new neutral
Hailey Bieber has a bad habit of influencing our nail polish collections.
The Rhode Beauty founder had us hunting down glazed donut nail polish last year to imitate the 26-year-old’s favourite nude manicure at home.
Earlier this year she revitalised our love for a classic set of red nails, and subsequently we’ve spent every day since cultivating an impressive store of some of the best red nail polishes on the market.
But last week Bieber was spotted in Los Angeles sporting a concrete-hued shade of grey nail polish that’s made us rethink the neutral manicure entirely.
Forget sheer pinky nude ‘lip oil’ nails, the clean nails trend and finding your perfect shade of nude nail polish, because grey nails are the chic new neutral to try.
We would however, recommend opting for lighter-hued grey tones to maintain a fresh and summery feel (greys that verge on black can look a little too gothic in the warmer months).
Unlike the mirror-finish nails Bieber is generally so fond of, this new era of neutral grey nails are opaque, matte and have a classically-shiny lacquered finish.
Don’t have a grey nail polish in your collection? We recommend:
Essie Nail Color 'Press Pause' ($9.59 at Priceline); Hanami 'Minsk' ($20.95 at Hanami); Jinsoon 'Grace' ($29 at Jinsoon); Smith & Cult 'Subnormal' ($32 at Rogue Beauty); and OPI Infinite Shine 'Peace of Mined' ($17.96 at Adore Beauty).
On the hunt for an inspo pic for your next nail appointment? These are all the best celebrity manicures we’ve spotted recently.
