Sure, bronzer is ace at contouring and adding a golden glow, but it also looks really pretty on the eyes, too. “Using bronzer on the eyes is a super quick way to give the eye area a little bit of warmth just like it would on the skin,” says Mikele Simone, Makeup and Salon Director of Academie Salon. “It works well for everyone, as they can complement all skin tones, it gives a sultry look and the warmth helps correct redness and tired looking eyes.” To try it for yourself, use a fluffy brush to blend from the lash line to slightly above the crease in a sweeping outward motion, as “it will look natural and effortless.” It’s as easy as that. Here are eight celebrity-inspired ways to wear bronzer on your cheeks and eyes.

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez can seriously do no wrong. At the 2016 American Music Awards, she took to the stage with a velvet base, a light touch of matte bronzer on her cheeks and eyes, and some nude gloss to keep the entire look tonal.

Olivia Culpo

It Girl, Olivia Culpo always looks so elegant on the red carpet. To get her look, dust some bronzer onto your cheeks and eyes, then complete the look with a velvet red lipstick to amp up the glam factor.

Jennifer Lawrence

For a more pared-back beauty look (as seen on Jennifer Lawrence), use a light to medium coloured bronzer and apply it straight over cheeks and as a wash on eyelids to add a warm glow to your complexion. Then, finish off your look with a slick of nude lip gloss.

Amber Heard

Amber Heard’s skin looks so good that it almost appears airbrushed. Try the look at home with a peachy bronzer buffed into your cheeks and eyelids (use a wet beauty blender to minimise harsh lines), then top off your makeup with a matte pink-based red lipstick.

Cara Delevingne

The British model and actress never disappoints on the red carpet. At the Glamour Women of the Year 2016 awards, Cara went with a sweep of bronzer over her cheeks and applied the same product as an eyeshadow base for a smoky eye look.

Lucy Hale

Yes, you can pull off bronzer on your eyes even if you have fair skin. Lucy Hale shows us how it’s done: sweep the product just under your cheekbones and into the sockets of your eyes to add depth, finish with lashings of mascara and a slick of bold vampy lipstick, if you please.

Chanel Iman

For those with darker skin tones, apply a matte bronzer in a ‘3’ shape on each side of your face (go from your forehead to under your cheekbone then back down along your jawline). Then use an eyeshadow brush to layer the product on top of some primer for an opaque finish.

Hailee Steinfeld

For a more exaggerated look using bronzer, use a fluffy brush to colour in your eyelids (extend the colour diagonally up into a wing shape), then apply a touch of the same product just under your cheekbones to accentuate the area.
