Emma Roberts shares her secret to managing melasma
The strategy behind her everlasting glow…
Glowing on the silver screen and the red carpet since ‘01, Emma Roberts has captured the hearts of audiences not only with her acting prowess but also with her radiant and flawless complexion. While her talent is undoubtedly the key to her success, her skin care routine also plays a significant role in maintaining her enviable glow.
If there’s one thing for certain, whether she’s lazing on the beach with Aquamarine or traversing from a witch’s coven to a hospital in American Horror Story, her skin will always look impeccable.
In spite of her busy schedule as a working mum, Roberts still manages to find pockets of time for self-care (as she should). So, what’s on Emma Roberts’s skin care agenda?
Here, we run you through her skin care routine and share her top glowing skin tips…
Emma Robert's skin care routine
After giving birth to her (now 2-year-old) son, Roberts shared with Byrdie that she started to develop melasma. As such, her skin care routine now has a specific melasma focus.
“During my pregnancy, it was happening a lot, and then during the summer, it started coming out a lot again. So that’s the one thing that I have to manage. I do that with products and also with being really diligent about my sunscreen,” she said.
She uses Angelina Jolie’s known favourite SPF, the Dermbasics Chemical Free Antioxidant Sunscreen and treats her skin with Dr Diamond’s Metacine Instafacial Collection (a plasma-based ‘PRP in a bottle’ treatment). Unfortunately, all are unavailable to shop in Australia (boo!). However, the measures of daily SPF application and tailored treatment can be applied with any product!
Treatment aside, as told to Byrdie Roberts’ overarching routine is hydration-centric.
Chantecaille Pure Rose Water ($138.60 at Cult Beauty)
SK-II Facial Treatment Mask ($159 at Sephora)
Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Serum ($463 at MECCA)
The actress’s biggest tip, however?
“Obviously, products can be amazing, tools are amazing, and makeup can be super fun. But, at the end of the day, I think for good skin, it's sleep and water for better or for worse. And so, I've definitely tried to be more mindful of my sleep and my water these days."
