The viral beauty brands in Cynthia Erivo's Golden Globes makeup kit

A full face of crowd pleasers

Wicked star Cynthia Erivo took to the Golden Globes red carpet alongside a cohort of her peers to kick off the 2025 awards, and given Erivo's proclivity for experimental glamour looks we knew that she was sure to deliver on the beauty front.

As per usual, the 37 year old's nails were the focal point of her ensemble. Celebrity nail artist and Erivo's collaborator on the Wicked press tour, Rose Hackle, handled the manicure — a jewel toned medley set inspired by the palette of the film — which took a whopping five hours to create.

Joanna Simkin was the mastermind behind the makeup. She used a combination of products from cult favourite beauty brands Summer Fridays and Benefit Cosmetics to create a soft glam look, making Erivo's flawless complexion the focal point of the makeup.

Want to know how Simkin made Erivo's skin shine on the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet? These are the exact products and a few techniques she used to achieve the look.

The Skin Prep

To prep the Wicked star's skin, Simkin used the viral Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask ($81 from MECCA) alongside the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Overnight Eye Serum ($76 from MECCA. The pair work in unison to hydrate, nourish, smooth and soothe the skin. Then, she applied Benefit Cosmetics The Porefessional Matte Primer ($63 from Sephora) to mattify Erivo's complexion, and smooth and blur any texture on the skin.

The Complexion Makeup

If you're anything like us, you were no doubt pondering Erivo's exact foundation and concealer combination after looking at the red carpet photos of the actress from the event. Turns out, Simkin kept things simple with a skin tint and a high coverage concealer where needed.

"The way [Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer] ($46 from Sephora) and [Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint] ($70 from MECCA) worked together today was *chefs kiss*," Simkin shared via Instagram.

She used a cocktail of Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer ($63 from Sephora) and Benefit Cosmetics Terra Golden Brick-Red Blush ($54 from Sephora) applied to Erivo's cheeks and temples to bring some warmth back to her complexion.

The Eyes And Lips

Simkin crafted a perfect skin-toned, sheer eyeshadow with [Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint] ($70 from MECCA) and [Benefit Cosmetics High Beam Liquid Highlighter] ($39 from Sephora). She opted for a monochromatic palette and reached for the juicy and hydrating Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm in 'Iced Coffee'] ($40 from MECCA) to marry the look together.

To further define Erivo's gorgeous eyes, Simkin lined them with the Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Bang! Pencil Eyeliner ($42 from Sephora) and the Benefit Cosmetics Roller Liner Black Liquid Eyeliner ($44 from Sephora). Then she applied a few coats of the Benefit Cosmetics Badgal Bang Waterproof Mascara ($49 from Sephora). "I don't know if you've noticed, but these Wicked moments get a little emotional," she joked via Instagram.
