Chris Appleton swears by this viral hair product for his signature hair texture
Whenever we hear Chris Appleton promote a haircare product it’s usually ColorWow. And understandably so, as Appleton is the brand’s acting global creative director.
But the celebrity hairstylist recently shared his morning routine with Allure, and he recommended a hair styling product that we weren’t expecting to be in his haircare rotation — the viral (and Hailey Bieber approved) wax pomade stick.
Bieber’s hairstylist Irinel de León famously uses the Tancho High Grade Tique Vegetable Lavender Pomade ($29.80 at Amazon Australia) on the Rhode Skin founder and Kendall Jenner.
But TikTokers have educated us and put us on to the Tigi Bed Head Hair Stick ($26.99 at Amazon Australia), which is equally as effective, and judging by his morning routine, Appleton’s a fan too.
“I would be lost without some wax for my hair,” he admitted in the video. “My hair is pretty straight and without it it has no texture.”
“My go to is the roll on wax (it’s a little wax stick) [and] I literally just swipe it through my hair,” he demonstrated with the Tigi Bed Head Hair Stick in hand.
“It’s funny, I’ve seen this really trending on TikTok a lot,” he went on to say. “People [have been] using this hair wax to slick their hair back to get that Bella Hadid kind of snatch.”
Whether you’re attempting to slick back your hair into a supermodel-inspired updo or enhance hair texture, Appleton loves “a good wax stick” for the job — “honestly, it does both [well],” he explained to Allure.
Chris Appleton is usually on our radar because of his incredible hair styling skills but recently his personal life (and his relationship with Lukas Gage) has been infiltrating our feeds.

Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends.
