Carrot juice is the budget DIY hack for long, healthy hair
When it comes to nutrition, carrots are known to have all kinds of health benefits thanks to their rich vitamin, mineral, and fibre content. But, as it turns out, they may be an excellent topical strengthening treatment for hair, too.
According to popular beauty influencer Farah Dhukai (who by the way boasts a casual 6.8 million followers on Instagram and 2.28 million on YouTube), carrot juice is the secret behind her mermaid-worthy locks.
Sharing her method on Instagram, Farah says she fills a spray bottle with 100 per cent carrot juice and applies it to her hair. She leaves it on for 20 minutes and does this once or twice a week.
But, she warns, if you have light hair (especially you, platinum blondes!) you should test it on a small section first to check it won’t stain your strands.
For lush, cascading tresses like Farah’s, we’d be willing to try it. And, considering carrots are potent in vitamin A (which is known to be nourishing and strengthening for the hair) it seems science may give some weight to her clever DIY beauty trick.
