Blake Lively sets the ‘loud luxury’ agenda with bright pink lipstick
We’ll jump on any trend that includes a bright lip
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants reunion wasn’t the only exciting thing that happened on the night of the Barbie movie event this December. Of course, while we were all thrilled to see Carmen, Tibby, Lena and Bridget reunite, Blake Lively showed up in true Barbie doll form, making a statement that put quiet luxury to rest (for the night at least).
Sporting true Barbiecore in head-to-toe hot pink, she wore a bright pink mini dress with matching opera gloves, a clutch, heels and, to top it off, lipstick. Written below her iconic Instagram post was the simple caption; “loud luxury”.
As the obvious antithesis of ‘quiet luxury’, ‘loud luxury’ evidently embodies the ‘more is more’ approach (a quick refresher on quiet luxury: a low-key approach to the luxury and designer aesthetic with a focus on staying understated).
Shouting out her glam team, makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez and hairstylist Jennifer Yepez, there was one key element to Lively’s look that had her living out a true ‘Cinderella moment’.
Lively’s stunning cool-toned pink lipstick was the product of YSL’s Rouge Volupte Shine in ‘162 Showstopping Rose’ ($65 at Adore Beauty). Playing with such high pigment (let alone in glossy form), it’s understandable they gradually wore off once “the clock hit midnight”. Regardless, her statement look would truly not have been complete without it.
