Buying makeup can be a big investment, so you really want to hope the colours and formulas you choose actually look good on you. Well, there’s good news: you can now try before you buy your makeup! Messaging platform company, Line has just launched Looks, an app that enables users to test out different makeup looks without applying a single product.
The app is essentially an evolution of the ‘pretty’ Snapchat filters; it projects makeup looks onto your face that range from a soft natural glow, to matte red lips with winged liner, or a deep burgundy smoky eye with false lashes.
The looks can also be tweaked to your personal taste by swiping your finger across the screen to increase or decrease their intensity. In total, there are 45 different makeup looks you can choose from with several recommending products from makeup brands such as Clinique, Etude House and Hera, which you can buy through direct links to the brands’ websites.
Within the app’s settings, you can also alter your foundation coverage, face shape and eye size.
The best thing about this app is it’s actually incredibly effective. The makeup matches up perfectly to the face (it did on us anyway), the looks appear realistic and really do provide a huge bank of makeup inspiration that we, for one, can’t wait to experiment with over the coming days.
