When it came to the gowns on the 2019 Oscars red carpet, tulle was the fashion detail of the moment. On the beauty trends front, it was all about a sharp brunette bob.
Fuss-free on the styling front, but high-impact nonetheless, it was elegant, modern and the clear haircut of the moment.
Irina Shayk
It wasn’t all that long ago that Irina chopped her long brunette locks off and debuted a stunning shoulder-grazing lob. And for the Academy Awards, she opted to go even shorter. Her asymmetric bob was styled into a simple yet flawless straight hairstyle with her ends gently curled under. Credit goes to hairstylist Harry Josh and Aveda Brilliant Spray-On Shine for that envious smooth and ultra-shiny finish.
Emilia Clarke
Even though brown hair may be Emilia’s natural hair colour, the world knows her best for being a platinum blonde Queen of Dragons from Game Of Thrones. But for this year’s Oscars, she went back to her roots and showed off a just-below-the-ears length. Her sleek bob featured less volume than Irina’s, and was tucked behind her ears for an elegant look. Emilia’s hairstylist Jenny Cho shared an Instagram snap of the hair products she used for the look, which included Living Proof Flex Shaping Hairspray and R+Co Grid Structural Hold Setting Spray.
Charlize Theron
Another celeb to go from blonde to brunette just for the award show was Charlize Theron. In fact, she also opted for a sharp new haircut...moments before hitting the red carpet. Her hairstylist, Adir Abergel shared a pre-Oscars photo with the caption “Decided to chop it all off before the big moment”. For the Oscars red carpet, Charlize’s bob was styled with a side part and a soft wave through the front. It's a fresh take on old Hollywood glam and we are BIG fans.
