Jodie Comer has been announced as the world's most beautiful woman

According to maths

Snow White’s evil stepmother spent a lot of time asking her mirror “who’s the fairest of them all?”, but it turns out her time might have been better spent turning to mathematics devised by the Ancient Greeks.

Harley Street facial cosmetic surgeon Dr Julian De Silva has utilised the latest computerised mapping techniques to apply the ‘Golden Ratio of Beauty’ (AKA Phi) to a host of female celebrities in order to measure their ‘physical perfection’.

What determines physical perfection, you ask? Is it healthy hair? Glazed donut skin

According to the Ancient Greeks, beauty can literally be measured by the ratios present in one’s face and body. The closer these ratios are to the number 1.618 (AKA Phi) the more desirable a person’s features are.

So which celebrity trumped all others in their proximity to Phi? “Jodie Comer was the clear winner when all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection,” Dr De Silva explained to Yahoo

“She had the highest overall reading for the positioning of her nose and lips, with a score of 98.7%, which is only 1.3% away from being the perfect shape,” he continued. “Jodie also had the highest score for her nose width and length and she was near the top for the shape of her lips and the position of her eyes.”

"The only element she was marked down for was her eyebrows which achieved an average score of 88%.”

While some may still be obsessed with traditional standards of beauty, others couldn’t care less – ergo the shaved eyebrow trend.

Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends.
