Troye Sivan undergoes drag makeover in latest music video
Absolutely stunning!
Troye Sivan in full drag wasn’t on our 2023 bingo cards - but we’re so glad we got to witness it.
Making headlines for his ‘One of Your Girls’ music video, the 28-year-old Aussie singer absolutely stunned in a blonde drag look.
Rocking the modelesque screen siren look, Sivan’s drag persona exuded an angelic, yet bold, energy. Bright, shimmery eyeshadow was contrasted with a wet-look, wavy wig style that, no doubt, will be emulated by many. It's clear that no detail was spared, from the French tip manicure to the directly opposing light and dark outfit changes.
Leading the charge on Sivan’s hyper-femme makeover was makeup artist Mark Carrasquillo. The video makeup, which was achieved with YSL Beauty, is built upon two key elements: the lips and the eyes.
While Sivan’s flawless base was contoured and covered with a skin tint and the famous Touche Éclat ($74 at Adore Beauty), Byrdie report that a nude lip liner and the YSL Candy Glaze in ‘Showcasing Nude’ ($65 at Adore Beauty) were the centrepiece of the look.
The eyes, on the other hand, were touched with YSL’s quad palette, the Couture Clutch. While unavailable in Australia, the Revlon Colorstay Day To Night Eyeshadow Quad in ‘Addictive’ ($26.95 at Chemist Warehouse) and GXVE by Gwen Stefani Eye See In Color Multidimensional Eyeshadow Quad in ‘Danger Zone’ ($43 at Sephora) bear strong similarities. A halo-like inner corner look was blended around the edges with a soft silver shade, feeding into a lifted brown-toned smokey wing. Of course, fluttery cat-eye falsies completed the look.
As a YSL ambassador, it’s only natural that Sivan repped the products in his video.
As a budding beauty boss, the singer-songwriter made his first foray into the industry recently with the launch of his lifestyle brand Tsu Lange Yor. In partnership with his brother, Sivan released a collection of fragrances and candles as a “reflection of self [and] sanctuary”. Evoking a feeling of creativity and exploration, the brand is an extension of his willingness to push the boundaries: musically and aesthetically.
