The secret to Hilary Duff’s beachy waves is just $30
We’ve been waiting YEARS for this
Popular opinion: Hilary Duff’s signature beachy waves are the absolute bomb. Any ‘90s kid who grew up watching Disney’s Lizzie McGuire knows what’s going on – we’ve all wanted THAT hair. And in her recent role in hit series Younger, Hilary proves that she still holds the title for most inspo-worthy hair.
If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably tried to achieve this very look on numerous occasion, spent ages and used ALL of the hair products. It’s no easy feat.
So when we found out Hilary’s long-time secret to those beautifully loose, natural-looking waves, you’re going to bet we were keen to share. Especially when it all comes down to one affordable little number.
Speaking to InStyle US, Hilary said her enviable locks are courtesy of one specific product – and it’ll set you back just $30. “You know when you wash your hair on the first day and it’s too slippery?" said Hilary. "I like using UNITE SECOND Day Finishing Cream, this little paste-like product that gives my hair just enough grit so it’s not too soft.
We all know the benefits of second-day hair – it’s so much more incredible (read: obedient) than freshly-washed hair. Along with pretty much every other hairstyle, beachy waves work better on slightly dishevelled hair that offers a bit of natural texture combined with a smoothness that only comes when hair has had a chance to lay flat and do its thing for a day or two.
Thanks to Hilary, we can now totally cheat time and achieve that lived-in texture without having to wash and wait. All you have to do is work a little bit of this finishing cream through dry hair to add a bit of texture and oomph to limp, flat strands. It’s a simple as that.
