Get ready everyone, for Halloween is fast approaching. And while we don’t celebrate the fright night anywhere near to the extent of our American counterparts, let’s be honest – we Aussies will gladly take any excuse to don a costume and throw a party.
If you’re a Halloween fanatic then there’s a good chance you already have your costume organised down to the finest detail, however, if you’re more like us, October has flown by and we’ve barely spared a second thought as to who or what we’re going to dress up as this Halloween.
This is where makeup truly comes into its own, as it enables you to chuck on a red lippie, call yourself Marilyn Monroe and be done with it; or go all out and create an intricate makeup look that’s sure to turn heads with or without a costume to match.
If you’re yet to decide what you’d like to go as, then take inspiration from Pinterest’s list of the top Halloween makeup looks trending this year. They’re pretty unexpected, but that’s what makes them such winners: The top three trends seen in Australia this year surprisingly include galaxy makeup, Beetlejuice and cute deers. Huh?!
If those ideas aren’t quite your cup of tea then look to the two other top trending pop culture icons: searches for Pennywise clown makeup from the latest It film have risen 941 per cent in the US, and the release of the new Spiderman movie has led the search for cobweb eye makeup to increase by 100 per cent in Australia this year.
Regardless of what you decide to go as, Halloween offers the perfect excuse to experiment with your makeup kit and try looks you otherwise would never have dreamed of giving a go. So, good luck and have fun!
