Australian Victoria’s Secret Angel Shanina Shaik just got the strangest facial
Clue: It involves her own blood
As far as strange beauty treatments go, they don’t get much weirder than the ‘vampire facial.’
This interesting facial treatment (formally known as a platelet-rich plasma facial treatment or ‘PRP’) essentially involves extracting blood from a patient before it is processed in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the plasma. The plasma is then injected back into the treatment site on the patient.

Though the treatment may sound very bizarre, it’s said to improve everything from skin tone to pore size and even help smooth away wrinkles. Plus, a slew of celebs are said to have tried the vampire facial including Kim Kardashian.
Now it seems Australian Victoria’s Secret Angel Shanina Shaik is the latest celebrity to jump aboard the vampire facial bandwagon.
While undergoing the treatment, the model took to Instagram Stories to share footage of the procedure. If you’re a little on the queasy side when it comes to blood, we don’t recommend viewing!
Freaky, right?! We’ll be interested to see how Shanina Shaik’s skin (which is pretty much flawless already) benefits from the treatment.
Unsurprisingly, the treatment isn’t without controversy. Earlier this year, two women were diagnosed with HIV after receiving vampire facials at a now-closed clinic in New Mexico.
