Reese Witherspoon *always* travels with this $10 cleanser
Plus the one skin care ingredient she swears by

Reese Witherspoon first fell onto everyone’s radar 20 years ago, and quite frankly, she hasn’t aged a day since.
She could so easily pass as her 19-year-old daughter’s older sister, it’s ridiculous. Which begs the question: What skin care products does she use and where can we get our hands on them?! Well, according to a recent interview she did with Refinery29, Reese believes in balance when it comes to spending on beauty – she isn’t afraid to hunt for a bargain at her local pharmacy, but she also splurges where it counts most.
When asked about her favourite drugstore beauty buys, Reese revealed that she has been a long-time user of the cult-favourite cleanser, Cetaphil. "I use the face wash, and I travel with it,” she said. This bad boy costs less than $10 AND it’s also the go-to cleanser of Victoria Beckham’s dermatologist. If you’re not already using it, it’s probably time you started!
When it comes to the best investment Reese has made for her skin, the Elizabeth Arden beauty ambassador said introducing retinol into her skin care routine had been a game-changer for her. “I started using the [Elizabeth Arden] Retinol Ceramide Capsules like a year ago, and I had never used retinol before and it has really changed the tone of my skin. I used to have a really uneven tone." While these aren’t as budget-friendly as her Cetaphil cleanser, coming in at $75 for 30 capsules, when it comes to anti-ageing, sometimes you need to spend more to get better results.
As for her top skin care splurge, Reese revealed, "I had a facial the other day and it was so nice. It was this ‘cryofacial’ thing, where she used a cold thing on my face. It was fabulous".
We love Reese’s flexible approach to skin care, because at the end of the day, be it drugstore, mid-range or high-end, great skin care is something that is meant to work for you, no matter the budget.

Briar Clark got her start in the media industry in 2017, as an intern for Marie Claire and InStyle. Since then, her keen interest in fashion and beauty has landed her gigs as a Digital Content Producer and Beauty Editor with titles like Girlfriend, Refinery29, BEAUTYcrew and beautyheaven. She loves the way seemingly innocuous topics like skin care and style have the ability to put a smile on people’s faces or make them think about themselves a little differently. A big believer in self love and experimentation, Briar has made a point of becoming the Australian beauty industry’s unofficial guinea pig for unusual treatments and daring hair trends. When she’s not testing out the latest beauty launches, Briar is big on broadening her horizons, mostly in the form of food but she’s also partial to travelling to new destinations both near and far (and of course, allocating an extra bag to bring their best beauty offerings home with her).
