Neutrogena® Deep Clean Purifying Clay Cleanser & Mask

Finally a cleanser that works deep inside the pores and yet will not leave the skin dry. I used it every morning and evening - applying it on a wet face made it easy to apply and it removed all the make-up really quickly. I didn't need to use micellar water to make sure that my skin is clean, what a saver! Even though I always use moisturizer afterwards, I can say that my skin wasn't yearning for it. I wasn't able to get rid of pores and blackheads, but they seem to be smaller and that is a win!

This is by far my new favourite face mask! The cooling properties were amazing after a long day of work! I would definitely recommend that you don’t go over the 5 minute mark when leaving the mask to dry, whilst my skin was not damaged, at about 10 minutes my skin became quite tense and a bit uncomfortable. However, simply washing the mask off cleared this up quite easily. Easy application, loved the smooth texture of the product and the way it left my skin feeling moisturised and refreshed! I trialled all 3 products in this collection and found that my skin even cleared up! Loved this mask and would 100% recommend that you try the mask combined with the scrub and micellar water!

I trialled this product in combination with two (2) other Deep Clean range products, and pleasantly found that my skin appreciated it! I have fair, combination skin prone to hormonal breakouts (possible adult acne). Following use of this product primarily as a mask 2 - 3 times a week for 2 weeks, I noticed that my breakouts reduced in frequency and severity. The product can be used as a mask and a cleanser, my preference was to use it as a mask, following the use of the Deep Clean Micro Cleansing Water and intermittently the Scrub from the same range. As a cleanser this product fell short, it did not seem to really clean or remove the grit from my face, leaving makeup residue and oil on my t-zone.  Conversely, as a mask, it left my skin feeling recharged and actually supple, unlike some acne focused products on the market that strip all moisture away. There was a slight tingling when the mask was first applied but it was not particularly noticeable. Application wasn't too messy, and the mask was very quick to dry and was not flaky. The use of calming ingredients was quite relieving, and removal was soft and easy with 0 residue!  The smell and consistency were perfect, subtle and sufficient! The colour was a little odd, and I am not a fan of the packaging for the entire range, however the tube dispensed the right amount of product for a whole face. Overall, I would actually continue to use this product (as a mask), and I would recommend to similar skin types. 

I really like this product, it was gentle on the skin but also left it feeling fresh. I also like the two in one feature. I perhaps would have like it if it foamed up a bit more when used as a cleanser and dried a bit more as a mask.

I’ve tried the product as cleanser and a mask, I would definitely keep using as mask once in a while, but not as a everyday cleanser. I have sensitive skin and I think the product isn’t to gentle on your skin specially during winter. It does give you a “fresh” feeling but also a bit too strong.

Such a great drugstore beauty buy! Whilst I loved using this product as a cleanser, I much prefer using as a twice weekly mask. After rinsing the mask off, skin feels soft and luminous and I have noticed a positive difference in my skin. Would be good for traveling as it is a two-in-one and quick and easy to apply.

This cleanser was perfect for my skin especially due to the salicylic acid. My skin felt super soft after using it. I used it after taking off my makeup as a quick face mask which was great way to deep clean. I also didn’t experience clogging from this cleanser.

First impressions... absolutely LOVED how this cleanser made my skin feel. I have normal skin and after the first few washes it left my face feeling soft and smooth. Unfortunately from thereon it did start to dry my face out. Very impressed it removed all makeup, including matte lipstick and waterproof mascara. Would recommend for oily skin.

Another really powerful cleanser/mask. This one really drew out all the impurities and felt like it left me with super clear skin. Unfortunately I reacted poorly to something in the ingredients as I broke out into a rash. I gave it to a friend, and she really loves it and it caused her no issues.

Would not recommend everyday. It started to dry out skin after using everyday which meant more excess oil produced. I also felt it was difficult to wash away like I could still feel a layer of it on my skin..  I think its better as a mask 1-2 times a week so it has time to draw out impurities and not dry out your skin at the same time. 

I live for this product, I literally use it every day.  It made my face feel soft and look beautiful, I don't really have anything bad to say about it, if y'all don't have this I recommend getting off your butt rn and get down to the shops and buy it! 

I don't have a ton of storage space in my apartment so I love 2-in-1 products like this. It's great as an occassional clay mask, with a light pleasant scent (which is surprising for a clay product). It's not a miracle worker but at least it didn't cause me to breakout nor aggravate the redness of my face. I do find it to be too drying as a cleanser during winter though.

As a cleanser, this product did a decent job, however, I do prefer it as a mask! I have sensitive skin and was surprised that I didn't have any reaction to this product (I've tried similar products in the past which had given me reactions). However, being prone to dry skin and going into Winter, I don't think this product was the right fit for my skin type and whilst it didn't give me any troubles, it didn't do much to improve my skin in the ways I'd like either. Still, a decent product for the price.

I love this scrub. I use it everyday when I got it. If you got combination skin this is for you. The scrub had a cooling effect post wash. I sometimes leave it on like a mask and it does clean out my pores  and my face feels soft and smooth afterwards. After  2 weeks of using it daily I have noticed my redness on my cheeks was minimised and zits barely came back on my  T zone. I love using it at the end of the day it's a trusty cleanser to cleanse all the congestion from a full day out.

Loved this cleanser! All though I used the scrub first to take off my makeup for the day this cleanser helped my face feel refreshed and clean! It's wasn't harsh on my sensitive skin but still felt like my pores were tighter and less visible afterwards! If you want a refreshing face mask this is the one I'd go for!! 

I used it as a cleanser and I am super happy with how clean my skin felt without being irritating or drying out my sensitive skin. I love any two in one product that will take up less space on my bathroom cubboard and less packaging to throw away! Thanks!

I am generally sceptical when it comes to face products that claim to do two different things such as a cleanser and a mask. I love multi tasking make up products but wary of drugstore products with this claim.  In terms of using it as a cleanser, it was pleasant to use and felt nice and creamy. Despite the fact it says it’s purifying, it felt nourishing instead and didn’t strip my skin at all. That being said, I don’t feel like it really cleaned my skin which I expect from cleansers, especially at the end of the day when I am beginning my night skincare routine and want my face to feel clean after wearing make up during the day. It’s mild and nice but not for me.  I didn’t love this as a mask. I have combination skin with an oily t zone. I enjoy using purifying/clay mask that deeply clean your skin and suck out the funk and oil from pores. That is what I expect from a clay mask. This didn’t deliver that for me. Nor did I feel like it was purifying at all. It was a pretty average mask. I’ve used other clay masks that are detoxifying without stripping my skin and they have worked better.  I give it three stars because it didn’t break my out. If it did break me out, the rating would be much lower. I would recommend this to people just starting to explore skincare and have normal skin. 

I always find 2 in 1 products never really work, they either do one or the other but certainly don’t tick both boxes. I found it was the same with this product but the mask worked really well! I find the cleanser a little too gentle but if you have sensitive skin I think this product would work great.

I loved how universal the 2 in 1 range is as it can be used as a daily cleanser or as a mask. It is very gentle on the skin which makes it great as an daily cleanser and removes makeup and dirt from the skin as well as the mask, if your looking for more on the affordable side.  I was super excited to receive the Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying Range, and what I loved so much about this range is how universal the 2 in 1 range is as it can be used as a daily cleanser or as a mask ( I would use the mask 1-2 times per week). It is very gentle on the skin which makes it great as an daily cleanser and removes makeup and dirt from the skin without drying the skin. Using this product as a mask, was super comfy to wear and did not irritate my skin at all and is a great mask to invest in if your leaning towards the affordable side. I

I enjoyed using this product more as a cleanser than a mask. As a cleanser it was gentle, refreshing and easy to rinse off in the shower. It has a very light scent and leaves a deep cooling sensation on your skin once removed. It did take all my make up off, but left my skin feeling slightly dry afterwards. I wasn’t too impressed with the product when used as a mask because I didn't see much difference in my skin. It was quite easy to rinse off, but left skin feeling as though it needed to be moisturised.
