Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Tatouage Couture

I wore the Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Tatouage Couture in shade 216 for dinner and a movie night out last night to see the premiere of ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ with my sister. I felt like a movie star from application to event. The applicator felt so soft on my lips and I only needed one sweep on the bottom lip and one on the top lip for a solid full pigment lip colour. Deep cherrie in colour my lips looked beautiful velvety and it dries matte, I love the look of this on my lips without a gloss especially if they’ve been well conditioned if they are a bit dry I like to apply a gloss on top of it which aids in the appearance of the lipstick on my lips. We ate sushi before the event and I’m a messy eater with my lips, my sister said I didn’t need to re apply my lippy so that was fantastic it stayed in tact all night for dinner, movie, popcorn and drinks.

I got one of the metallic shades of this and as I've tried another luxury brand liquid lip in the past and it was terrible, I was not expecting much from this either. I was pleasantly surprised! It feels really nice on the lips, goes on smoothly, and doesn't transfer like crazy like many other lipsticks do. It wasn't drying on my lips and the applicator is unique yet perfect for applying with precision. The reason I have taken off a star is because the colour is nothing like that is appears online. I honestly thought I'd received the wrong shade it is so different. Only in certain light does it have the slightest hint of looking like the colour it is supposed to. But, it is still beautiful. Would be best to be able to swatch in person before buying but even without these hard times, I'm nowhere near a place that sells them.

I'm so in love with this product. The formula is very unique, it gives you a matte finish tint on your lips and is very comfortable to wear. I find the staying power is great, at least 6 to 8 hours without any eating or drinking involved. However, I still see a pretty stain on my lips after finishing my meals. The applicator also makes it easy to apply and the colour range is so great with many pretty, hard-to-find colours.

I have quiet small lips and problems getting lip colours to last any amount of time on my lips. Liquid lipsticks usually require that you take them off before reapplying to get a good finish, but not with Tatouage. With this lipstick touchups are not a problem, the applicator is great and makes lining the lips very easy. I usually need a lip liner to go with a lipstick, otherwise I get bleeding, but with Tatouage I dont need to. I have colours 8 and 27, they do wear differently with 27 lasting longer. These lipsticks are so good, I dont even feel the need to try any others, I have found my HG.

I'd recommend testing this out before purchasing if I was you. I'm a person of colour, I tested the product on my hand. I found the product to be watery and when it dried down it wasn't very pigmented. its probably more suited for lighter skin people
