I'm in love...
I am a self-confessed cleanser addict and I love trying out new ones, always searching for the perfect cleanse...I have been using this as a first cleanse in the evening for about 3 weeks now and I am genuinely in love. It takes of sunscreen and makeup really well and leaves the skin feeling hydrated and fresh. This oil does emulsify but does not rinse completely clean, I usually follow this up with a second cleanse. I must admit I have to stop myself from using this in the morning (I don't want to double cleanse in the mornings). I think it's the smell that has me hooked, a complete spa experience in your own bathroom. Absolutely recommend.
Excellent cleansing oil! It is runny, slightly yellowish and with the light scent of rose. Apply on dry skin, massage all over well to melt impurities (spf, makeup, city dirt...), emulsify with water and rinse. Does not leave my skin greasy at all. No residue. I do love to double cleanse when using strong water resistant spf or foundation and mascara/lip products. Just to make sure every trace is gone before applying my skincare at night. It is so gentle. Does not burn eyes and leaves skin soft and not tight. Even when not using spf or wearing makeup I use this oil to do cleanse only once, as it refreshes my skin and leaves it so clean and soft.
Oil cleansers can sound scary, especially if you have oily skin but they're really lifechanging. They're great as a first cleanse to get rid of make up or sunscreen. The oil is really lightweight and breaks down my make up quickly and easily. What I love about cleansing oils is that they're gentle, so they're great for sensitive skin. This one is easily removed and you can't feel any oil on your skin at all. I love the packaging as the pump makes it easy to use. It's also a plastic bottle so i can keep it in the shower and not worry about it breaking if I drop it. It's a great price and a must have if you want to try an oil cleanser, but are hesitant about applying oils onto your skin.
Adding a cleansing oil to my skincare routine has been life-changing.
In my double cleanse routine, the first step of cleansing oil effectively dissolves all oil-based makeup and sunscreen, so that my second cleanser step can cleanse deeper. For the last 10 years, I have tried not less than 10 cleansing oils and balms. The Trilogy Rosehip Transformation Oil comes close to the top of the list.
The oil comes in a tinted plastic bottle which allows me to see exactly how much product is left. The pump works really well and there is no leak, no drip.
I use 2 pumps for sunscreen removal, 2.5 pumps for light makeup and 3 pumps if I have been wearing a proper foundation. The transparent oil is slightly more viscous than other plant-based oil that I have tried. I massage the oil in circular motion on dry skin and it removes all my makeup and waterproof mascara completely. It only takes me about 15 seconds or so to remove all my makeup completely, but I usually massage it longer to let the nourishing rosehip, sweet almond and papaya to work on my skin (and it smells and feels nice, too!). There is a slight botanical scent but nothing too powering. The viscosity is on the thick side for a cleansing oil, but it rinses off very clean.
The instruction asks us to add water to emulsify the oil and turn it into a milk before rinsing off (and hence the term 'transformation'). I have used enough cleansing oils in the past to conclude that this Trilogy Cleansing Oil does not actually emulsify very well at all. However, the oil is so soluble anyway that I think it is best to rinse it off straight away. I also found that if I try to emulsify it the product could get into my eyes and it stings when it does!
Overall I am very very happy with the oil. It effectively removes all my makeup and also it rinses off clean without an oily residue. I would, however, pay particular attention to the "life after opening" of this product as it is quite short (6 months).
I haven't had the best luck with cleansing oils but this is fantastic and my offical go-to cleansing product! Pumping 2-3 drops of oil onto dry skin (or in the shower, on my lazy day's), I love how it gently absorbs into my skin and removes most of my makeup. If you have a lot of makeup on, I would suggest following up with another cleanser to reassure that everything is removed. The smell is very subtle but pretty, and whenever my skin feels a little dry or dull—even when I dont have any makeup on— I will wash my face with this product and my skin instantly feels hydrated, smooth and glowy. Must give it a try if you love oil cleansers!!!!
I use 2-3 pumps into the palm of my hand and massage this into my skin. When the oil comes into contact with water, it emulsifies and turns into a very slight milky colour. It feels very nourishing and moisturising when it is massaged into my skin and I love this feeling. I also love how it is not as messy as expected, there is less drips of water running down my arms as I'm cleansing. The smell is a very subtle rose scent, which I don't find overpowering at all. It is a delight to the senses! The cleansing oil rinses off very easily and does not leave any noticeable residue. However for those that are sensitive, you may wish to follow with a second cleanse to remove all traces.
I first started using Trilogy Rosehip Transformation Cleansing Oil about nine months ago and continue to buy this product because it is just so good.
Cleansing oils are my favourite method of removing my makeup because they leave my face feeling clean, soothed and nourished so when I discovered the Trilogy brand I was eager to give it a go.
The oil is packaged in a dark brown bottle with a pump dispenser and protective cap. I love the rose fragrance which for me is quite calming. The protective cap on the bottle makes it safe for travelling.
After removing my eye makeup with micellar water I then massage two pumps of the cleansing oil over my dry skin and pat on a little water to emulsify, turning the oil into a milky cleanser. I love how soothing this feels and I actually enjoy the process of removing my makeup. I then wet my facial cleansing cloth in warm water and wipe this over my face. All traces of makeup are removed effortlessly without any rubbing or pulling of the skin. The warmth from the cleansing cloth feels like I’m having a facial. For me, this is the most effective way of removing my makeup. There is no oily residue – just clean, soft, smooth, nourished skin.
I absolutely love the Trilogy Rosehip Transformation Cleansing Oil for my combination skin and have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful, natural product.
Up until a few months ago, I freaked out at the thought of using a cleansing oil on my already oily skin. But after reading so many articles about why they are so beneficial and reading reviews from women with a similar skin type as mine, I knew I missing out, so I jumped on the cleansing oil bandwagon. Trilogy Rosehip Transformation Cleansing Oil was the first cleansing oil I ever used and boy I was impressed. I honestly did not know how great my skin would feel after cleansing with this beauty. As I usually wear a decent amount of makeup during the week, I use this cleanser as the first step in my cleansing routine, then follow with a foaming cleanser to ensure I have removed all traces of makeup and dirt from the day. Using this oil has actually become a novelty to me - I look forward to the end of the day where I get to use a luxurious feeling oil. I tend to use it on dry skin as I feel it emulsifies better and really gets in there and cleanses well. And it is so refreshing not having a tight feeling afterwards.
The packaging is lovely and I love that it is a plastic bottle which makes it very travel friendly but it also sits comfortably in my shower nook and I don't worry about it dropping and breaking it.
Trilogy has transformed my views on cleansing oils and I absolutely adore their product and will continue to use and spread the good word about it.
I've used a few cleansing oils in my time, ans this one from Trilogy is my new favourite! I like to use a couple of pumps on dry skin before showering and it quickly and easily breaks down the day's makeup. It rinses off easily, doesn't leave any residue and doesn't cause any irritation. The bottle is plastic so it's great to use and store in the bathroom. Highly recommend!
