I’ve been using this product for 3 weeks now (2 times per week) and I am very happy. It does not irritate my sensitive skin and it leaves it feeling soft and looking plump. The sheets are also good quality and soaked with serum so there’s enough for your face, neck and hands.
This is perfect is your skin is feeling super dry. It’s very hydrating and almost has a plumping effect. There’s not an overstated scent to cause irritation but just a slight floral smell which is not overpowering. There’s a fair bit of residue left over but can be pressed into the skin and hands I find works well. Pair this with the under eye masks and it’s a winner!
I got this sheet mask as part of my Priceline skincare goody bag. Even though I am mask mad, I was reluctant to try this mask after finding another Skin Republic sheet mask (Collagen Infusion) very sticky and tacky and I did not enjoy the experience. This one is indeed completely different!
I used this after cleansing and toning my skin. The mask is packaged in a silver foil packet and is entirely covered in a light liquid serum. The sheet itself is soft and very thick and felt very pleasant on the skin. The sheet fit very well, however was slightly short on the forehead for me as I do have a high forehead so I just spread the serum to the areas where the sheet did not reach.
I left this on for 20 mins - the packaging recommends 15-20mins. The sheet did fit very well and did not slip around so I could continue to move about whilst I had it on. After I took the sheet off, I tapped the serum onto my skin to absorb further. My skin was glowing from the serum and afterwards my skin looked radiant. My skin, particularly my hands felt super soft as I do suffer from dry hands so it felt really nourishing on my dry skin. My face did still feel slightly tacky from the serum but I find this a common trait of most serums and was not overly sticky and uncomfortable.
It didn't do much for my fine lines however it would be a miracle if it did after just one application. There is potential for continued use to produce more dramatic results.
I’m not a huge fan of sheet masks and generally prefer cream masks, however I am glad that I tried this is one from Skin Republic.
PROS:
· It has a subtle citrus-y scent.
· The cloth was great quality and didn’t tear or lose its shape during application.
· The mask is quite wet with the serum, but not somuch that it drips or makes a mess.
· While the mask was a little big for my face, itwas easily adjusted to suit my features.
· Once the mask was in place, it didn’t move around or slide off my face. As a result, I was able to move around and not worry about it dislodging.
· The mask was comfortable to wear and felt cooling and refreshing.
· It is recommended to leave it on for 15-20 minutes, however I left it on for 40 minutes and even after this extended use, there was still quite a lot of product left that I was able to pat into my skin.It did remain a little sticky for about 5 minutes or so, but after that my skin felt incredibly soft and smooth.
CONS:
· Skin Republic recommends that you use this mask twice a week for the month to see the best results, and at $8 per mask, this is quite expensive when compared to a cream/jar mask.
This anti-aging mask aims to hydrate and firm the skin while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and while one use isn’t enough to notice any significant effects my skin did look plump and feel moisturised, and I didn’t notice any negative side-effects.
Overall, I would recommend this sheet mask and I am interested to try others from the range.
I've used many brands of facial sheet masks in recent years, and this is the 1st one I've tried from Skin Republic. I noticed that it's made in Korea, so I had high expectations that it would be a quality, effective product - Korean skincare is taking the world by storm, for a good reason, they make incredible quality skincare products.
Housed in an individual silver foil packet that contains 25mls of product, the mask is soaked in an anti-ageing serum that contains Hyaluronic Acid and other ingredients designed to boost natural collagen levels.
First impressions were that this indeed was a quality mask - it was soaked in the active serum and very easy to unfold. I really liked that the mask wasn't attached to a plastic sheet or two, unlike some other masks I've tried.
The mask material was soft, thick, and had good sized holes for eyes, nose and mouth. It was very easy to apply properly and fit to my facial contours.
I left it on for around 20 minutes, and found it didn't irritate my skin at all, or make my sensitive tzone area itch. So many other masks do for me, but not this one.
When I removed it, I still had a decent coating of the serum which I pressed into my skin. This remaining serum felt silky smooth and wasn't at all sticky.
I then applied my usual night cream, noticing how lovely and plump my skin looked and felt - always a sign of a quality face mask in my books.
I'd happily repurchase this, and will look to buy other masks Skin Republic make, I notice they have a really decent range for face, hands and feet.
Very highly recommended for anyone wanting a serious moisture boost for their complexion.
The Skin Republic Hyaluronic Acid Collagen face mask is housed in an opaque foil sachet. To open just tear at the 'v' cutout on the top sides of the sachet.
Inside is a single sheet mask folded and soaked in gel serum. Its a breeze to unfold the sheet mask and apply to my freshly cleansed face. The sheet mask feels soft yet is thick and strong. I align the eye, nose and mouth cutouts in the sheet mask to the corresponding features on my face. Since I want the sheet mask to come in contact with my skin I mold the mask to my face and press away any air bubbles trapped by the sheet mask. The sheet mask stays molded to my face but I would say talking, eat or drinking is not ideal because the sheet does come undone along the jawline if I make any movements of my jaw. Its a good reason to just pop some music on, close your peepers and relax for a bit when masking with sheet masks.
There is a slight floral scent which isn't overpowering or irritating. My skin feels cool and hydrated as soon as I apply the sheet mask which is refreshing in the summertime. The clear gel serum feels bouncy and a bit tacky which makes sense because hyaluronic acid does tend to feel tacky/sticky. Hyaluronic acid is one of the top ingredients on the ingredients list. I was a bit worried the serum might drip but I had no issues with any drippings. When I apply the mask to my face I apply any excess serum to my neck, decolletage and the backs of my hands.
The only downside is that the sheet is a bit bigger than my face so the sheet messes up my hairline. In my experience its best to apply this mask the night before and let the serum work its magic overnight before washing my hair in the morning. The serum has a tacky/sticky feel which some might not like and it does tend to make my face look shiny. But since I mask at night I'm ok with it because no body is going to see me while I sleep.
The serum has hydrating and anti aging properties and the product instructions suggest to use the mask twice a week for a month before expecting any results. After the initial month its suggested to use the mask as needed which I do now that I'm past the first month. My skin feels hydrated and is flake free since I have been using this mask. There is a slight improvement in the fine lines near my eye area and makeup glides on well after using this mask.
At $7.99 it is a pricey mask initially because you're instructed to put it on twice a week for a month but after that you're in maintenance phase so you don't need to apply the mask as often. It is an investment but my skin is the only one I have so I don't mind investing in products that work.
Tip: For a refreshing cool feel, stick the sachet in the fridge for at least 30 mins before applying (especially in the hot summer months)
