Sally Hansen Salon Gel Polish Starter Kit

I recieved this as a gift and I am so happy with it! It gives your everything you need to do a gel manicure at home, as well as in-depth information on how to get a salon like finish. It comes with base coat, top coat, orange wood stick, alcohol wipes, nail file, led lamp, acetone and of course the colour gel polish.  I think I am one of those people that always seem to have their hands busy and using them as tools so the colour unfortunately doesn’t last as long as other people, but it still lasts long enough 5ish days without chipping which is heaps better than what I’d get with normal polish. Two coats is plenty to get nice opaque coverage. Also I’m naughty and don’t soak off the polish and let it peel off, but I never have experienced any damage to my nails.  The only thing I didn’t like is the nail file, I found it was too gritty and I have another one from a different brand that I like to use instead. 

PAYS FOR ITSELF!! If you are a regular salon visitor like I am then you can understand a salon visit can cost up to $50 per session. I always asked for Acrylic refills with a Shellac coat simply because it wiped out drying time. I decided to ditch the Acrylic and go 'O-Natural' and use Sally Hansons Gel Polish. It is fantastic! No chips after tough wear and all in the comfort of my own home and choice of TV program haha. Once the family has been fed and the kids have gone to bed, I set up my side table and get comfortable on the couch with a glass of wine and relax by giving myself a manicure. 

To be honest I was rather skeptical in buying this product but figured I give it a go as the cost of he product is alone what two gel manicures would be. I have done a handful of manicures with this kit and found that the gel nail polish lasts two weeks without chipping.  I found that regular nail polish is a pain, and having to reprint my nails every 2-3 days was getting tiresome. This kit is easy to use with a step by step guide from start to finish. I am extremely happy with my purchase and will only be buying and using gel polish from now on. It is important to use the alcohol pads to prep the nails before you put on the base coat. This enables the gel to adhere to the nail better. I also keep my nails under the lamp for about a 90 secs, to make sure that the gel is cure and taking off the polish is a breeze. Yes, it does take about 30 mins but, I have been able to take the gel off without it ruining my nails. When I want to change the colour of the gel, I file off the top coat ( the shiny part) of the gel and put my fingers in acetone. The gel chips right off in the acetone. I am beyond happy with this product and cannot recommend it enough!! 

If you're tired of running out to a nail salon all the times for shellac nails and dropping your hard earned cash visit after visit, definitely give this a go! It is so easy to achieve your own shellac nails at home with this kit, it can last up for ages providing you do it correctly and it is awesome! I highly recommend it to all my family and friends!
