Rimmel London Kind & Free Mascara

Rimmel always make great mascaras and this one is no exception. It's a simple, everyday mascara for 'natural' results - showcasing length and fullness but not too flashy. It's nice to have a product that is use on the eyes be kind to animals and free from all the nasties. During WFH, I've felt my eyes become a little bit more sensitive than usual (#screentime) and this hasn't had an adverse effect, unlike some other mascaras I've been using during this time. I recommend this one to people who choose cruelty-free usually, but also to those who want something a little more sensitive for their eyes.

Thanks Beautycrew for allowing me the opportunity to trial Rimmel's Kind & Free Mascara. I love the colour of the packaging, so pretty and summery. I was hoping for good things with this product as it has some really great qualities, one being that it is vegan. I have sparse lashes and they're also quite light. So I was hoping the 'volumising' part of this would work it's magic. I found the wand easy to use but I did find that the mascara did clump somewhat upon application and it took a longer time than normal to dry, which left me with dots of it on my upper lids and it was annoyingly difficult to remove. The result left my lashes a tad darker than my normal, like the coating was very thin and didn't make my lashes look any longer or thicker. I gave it 3 stars because the 'vegan' status and because I was OK with my lashes looking subtly different .... because of my lack of lashes...

Firstly I love the commitments behind the product and the 99% natural ingredients in its formula! And on top of that, the product itself doesn’t disappoint. It’s the perfect go-to mascara for your everyday look, as it’s perfect to get your eyelashes looking beautiful and natural. I’ve been using it everyday for the past weeks and love that it’s buildable without becoming clumpy, so you can work on coats and get the look you prefer. Love that it’s water resistant but really easy to remove, not leaving smudges behind! So it’s a practical, affordable and clean option! Definitely a great mascara for your collection !

I’ve been wearing the Rimmel London Kind & Free Mascara everyday for two weeks straight and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. I often find my eyes become sore or itch after wearing making all day but I was happy to find this mascara didn’t irritate my eyes at all. The mascara is light and goes on well. I found it gave a casual look where my lashes seemed lengthened and thickened but the bonus is you don’t feel like you’re wearing anything! And you have to love that it’s organic, 100% vegan and kind to animals.

Thank you Beautycrew for the opportunity to trial this mascara. I really like this product. I have eyes that are sensitive to some mascaras, but have had zero irritation with this clean, green formula. The brush is a classic format, and not too cumbersome or bulky. I put two coats on my top lashes for a well defined look, with zero clumping. I put a single coat on my bottom lashes, and found the brush easily managed this too. The formula wore well, and removed easily with either micellar water or eye make-up remover. I would happily purchase this product, and recommend it to anyone wanting a clean, green formula that works a treat

This mascara comes in a standard style packaging. The wand is easy to hold and apply. The consistency of the liquid is smooth and flowing. A perfect black colour. The product glides easily on the eyelashes. Doesn’t clump or blotch. The coverage is quite thin so multiple coats required. It holds well and has all day longevity. It washes off easily at the end of day. Overall I enjoyed using this mascara and feel it is a great option for every day use. Something I would buy regularly for my makeup case.

This mascara is a great everyday option for those who are making the switch to 'cleaner' products to reduce the number of chemicals in their make up and skincare. A great everyday mascara, the Rimmel London Kind & Free Mascara has a fine application brush that fans out your lases, coating each individually achieving a wispy an feathery look which I find great for wearing to work or during the day. It doesn't flake or crumble, which is especially great for those of us who wear contact lenses. It also had great staying power, while being easy to remove in the evening with some micellar water. I also loved the true black colour and didn't find it messy or irritating, and didn't find that it smudged even if I went straight from the office to sport at the end of the day. I'd definitely purchase again.

When this arrived in the post I was super excited to try as I’m trying to find the perfect mascara so I’ve tried many. The packaging is super cute and kind & free is such a good name for a clean product. I have quite flat lashes that aren’t long so I like a lengthening and lifting mascara. On first application it went on a bit clumpy . Next time I made sure to remove more product off the wand. This helped it to go on better but then definitely needed a second application to get volume. Unfortunately there was not much length or lift. It did flake a bit by the end of the day. I think this mascara is good as you’re everyday one but not one if you like lenth.

I love a natural product in my makeup kitty, and when I was offered this one to try, I was over the moon! Its Vegan and Cruelty free, so yay! But the question remained- does it perform? Well, Yes it does, but this also depends on what you are after.. If you are after beautiful lengthy lashes, that don't budge, come rain or shine, you may want to give this one a miss. This product does lengthen and volumize my lashes, and feels actually good for them, as it moisturizes the lashes too. But, it is slightly clumpy when applied, and does take a few moments to dry. Giving it a 4 star, as its ticks most of my boxes, but there is a slight scope to improve.

I love this product, it's quite light which is my preference as it gives a natural fuller looking lash without getting clumpy or too thick. I appreciate the effort that has gone into making a vegan mascara and responsibly made packaging. It is not 100% waterproof and on days where I have forgotten to remove mascara before gym it has run and where there is a strong wind and my eyes water a little the mascara will run. There is an ingredient in there that does make my eyes quite sore and a bit red on the occasions it does run.

I really liked this mascara. It had good colour - the black was very black! I didn't find it had any transfer or fallout - even by the end of the day in the Sydney humidity it was smudge free. It was lengthening and I got a good curl from it. I put 2 coats on and didn't get clumping at all. It is pretty long lasting and required a good wipe to get off at the end of the day - I prefer finding it hard to get off at night over smudging and not going the distance in the day. I like that it has nourishing ingredients such as shea butter. A very nice mascara that I would repurchase.

I wasn't a fan of this mascara. The packaging is quite plain. When I opened the tube the smell of chemicals was very strong. It applied to the lashes ok but I wouldn't go out of my way to use it again. It wasn't hard to get off when taking my makeup off, but it did stay black under my eyes for a while. I did however really like that it was vegan and I did really like the application wand. I think I was use the wand just with a different mascara. I wouldn't recommend Rimmel London Kind & Free Mascara to any of my family or friends, which is disappointing as I love so many of their products for my daily makeup routine.

I usually avoid using make up and unnecessary products because of the harmful chemicals. This product claims that it is kind and free - I had a look at the ingredients and the usual ingredients that I avoid weren’t in there. As I was googling the ingredients - I was excited to see the other kind and free range that I can’t wait to try. It’s not a product that will be sitting on the drawer without being used. I loved the mascara because it was natural and very light on the lashes. It doesn’t look fake, heavy or clumpy. Strongly recommend.

I haven’t used a Rimmel London mascara for a number of years. I usually go with a tubular mascara as I have lots of issues with smudging and panda eyes after only a couple of hours. I tried the Rimmel London Kind & Free mascara and I was very impressed. The packaging is good, large size and I liked the click you get when it closes. The brush is a full and provides very good coverage. When wearing the mascara, it provided a natural look, it did not create huge volume and thickness but it was a nice full natural look. The positive news for me was the smudging was very minimal even after a very long day of wearing, and this could probably be completely avoided with powder. Overall, a very good mascara which gives a nice natural look.

I got Rimmel London Kind & Free Mascara in black. It comes with a straight wand and the bristles worked perfectly for my lashes. It contains Shea butter and Biotin which conditions the lashes and also makes it easy to apply the mascara giving a neat clump free application and it did not feel heavy after applying. It did gave a nice definition to my lashes but wont say its volumizing or add to the length. I did see some flakes after wearing it for half a day. Its a good mascara for everyday look but I would say it did not do anything extra for my lashes in comparision to other mascaras I have used but I liked the fact that this is a vegan product made from clean naturally derived ingredients.

I absolutely love this mascara. I’ve always been reluctant to try mascaras from other brands as I’ve always been loyal to one. But i really love this Rimmel mascara. It gave my lashes really great volume and length as well. It came off easy as well. I used a make up remover wipe one day. And a microfibre makeup remover puff the next day. With both makeup removers it came off well easily. Mind you my lashes are short and thin so for me it was amazing!! I would definitely recommend this mascara. I was pleasantly surprised by it.

I love that this mascara has clean and natural ingredients. I also like the packaging which is a basic blue tube, which is no fuss and very easy to pack in a small bag for touch ups. What I like about this mascara is that it’s absolutely clump-free and it gives a very natural, wispy eyelash look. I have oily lids which makes it hard for me to wear just any mascara, even the waterproof ones, but I was pleasantly surprised that I did not have “panda eyes” while wearing this. It is also very easy to remove even with micellar water at night which is a hug plus. This is a good go-to mascara for toned down days or for the perfect office look. However, unlike other mascaras that I’ve tried, since it only gave a natura look, it didn’t particularly elongate or emphasise my lashes, which is usually what I look for in mascaras. I have straight and fine asian eyelashes, and I noticed that this mascara doesn’t hold the curl of my lashes, and throughout the day I eventually notice that my lashes have lost their curl and it seems like I’ve not been wearing mascara (but no panda eyes). Overall, it is a good natural mascara with kind ingredients, waterproof, and easy to remove.

I love Rimmel London's mascaras and was extremely thrilled to try the Kind & Free mascara. The baby blue colour packaging is quite simple and minimalist, however, it looks a bit "cheap" to my views. They could have done much better on the packaging .Compared to other mascaras of the same brand the Kind & Free doesn't stands out at all. The brush is thin which makes application easy and without clumps specially on the lower lashes. It is very light and lasts hours too. This is the kind of mascara I will use for a natural look as despite applying 2-3 coats, I didn't noticed any change in the length of my lashes. Lastly, I don't like the smell of the mascara as it is too strong for me. Overall, I think the Kind & Free mascara is perfect for an "everyday look" and I enjoy the fact that 99% of ingredients in it are from natural origins and that the brush is made of 100% bio-based fibers.

As someone who short, sparse lashes, this mascara did nothing for me. The tube is nice and sleek but the writing is a bit overwhelming. The brush is a nice standard long natural bristle wand with a tapered end that does a nice job coating all the lashes and getting into the inner corner. The formula is light and wet, but dries quickly and I haven’t had any issues with flaking or smudging. It provides a little length and definition but there is no drama. The formulation isn’t clumpy but doesn’t build up much either. I recommend this for anyone who wants a natural mascara that will tint the lashes but don’t expect much more than that!

Firstly, the packaging does like a bit cheap to me. In terms of the design of the packaging, there's quite a lot of wording. I think it would look better and less cluttered if some of the wording could be removed. It does appear to have an excess amount of text on the tube. In terms of the product, the brush is straight with the bristles on the shorter side. It did give a very subtle and natural finish, more of a 'pop to the shops' look as another reviewer mentioned. It wasn't very volumising unfortunately. I do think this mascara is better suited to shorter lashes, as I struggled to swipe the mascara wand the entire length of my lashes. I do really like that this product is vegan and cruelty free, and I didn't notice any smudging either. All in all, it's a good starting point in this range, but I do think a different style of brush would really improve this product. It's always great to see larger brands taking a cruelty free approach to beauty!
