It's not for me, but it might be for you
I bought this after hearing rave reviews from friends and beauty influencers. I think it has a lot of pros: packaging, colour range, natural finish, looks good in photos, affordable, good for normal/combo skin, doesn't have a scent. However, and I'm not sure what it is, but there's something in this foundation that breaks me out. This is disappointing because I like how it looks on the skin and it would be so easy to travel with, but my face breaks out every time I use it. This is just my skin, which can be quite sensitive. If you want a natural and affordable foundation and your skin isn't reactive then I would give this a go.
For drug store foundation, this is not a bad product. It is a pump tube, which I love, and it comes in a nice range of colours. The coverage is medium at best, even layering it I cannot get it to a level that I would consider full coverage. I have drier skin, and for me, it does not have the best longevity, so I cannot imagine it being suitable for oily skin types. But in saying that, it applies really nicely to the skin, and gives the skin a nice glow. So if you are after a medium coverage foundation which looks natural, this is a good choice. Another bonus is you can usually pick it up on sale.
Unfortunately this foundation wasn't a winner for me. There was a bit for me to like about it but the formula and my skin just can't be friends.
Pro's:
Loved the packaging. A pump applicator in a stand up tube package, Brilliant idea!!
A nice consistency to apply the perfect amount, without going over board.
A great coverage (for a few hours, for me)
Easy to apply with a brush, sponge or even fingers.
Didn't transfer onto clothing
Cons:
A big negative for me as I work in a busy retail environment an apart from lunch don't really have time for touch ups.
It didn't last until lunch time before it disappeared around and on my nose and chin, ( i wouldn't say I was overly oil, more dry/combination at the moment ).
There are a lot of people who are loving this foundation and although it didn't work for me doesn't mean it wont work for you. I would just recommend getting a sample first and trying before you get the product.
I have the shade 240 Natural Beige. "Natural Beige" is usually a dead on for my NC25-30 ish skin tone and I swatched the product against my other foundation matches: https://imgur.com/a/H8Od1zb
From the bottom up: Revlon Candid Concealer in 'Banana', Revlon Photoready Candid Foundation in 240 Natural Beige, Maybelline Matte and Poreless in 220 Natural Beige, Smashbox 15 Hour Foundation in 2.15, Too Faced BTW in Natural Beige, NARS Radiant Longwear in Santa Fe and Punjab.
Revlon is quite pink when you compare it to my other matches which is bizarre as I found that this shade matched fairly well for me. This is most likely because my face is quite a bit lighter than my body and I tend to play up use of bronzer and blush to manipulate foundations that may not match as well as they should! I will also say that I am fairly sure this oxidised just a bit on my so maybe keep that in mind if you are shopping for it and make sure to swatch in store and walk around first.
The texture of this is, in my opinion, standard of a foundation - light and creamy. I absolutely cannot get over having a pump on a drugstore product - more pumps! It makes it so easy to measure and with less mess. Two pumps is enough for my face at a light-medium coverage using a beauty blender and it spreads across the face very well. It builds as well so I would say a solid medium coverage could be gotten from this product.
The finish is very lightweight and perfect for those who don't like the 'feel' of makeup on their skin. I also found it didn't settle into my pores which is an incredible bonus on this product! I also have combination skin and found this held up quite well and I only noticed a sheen probably around the 7 hour mark.
The Revlon PhotoReady Candid Foundation is definitely my new favourite foundation. I have dry skin and this foundation definitely doesn't dry up on my skin and gives the coverage I need. I apply the foundation with a beauty blender and it gave me a nice satin finish and my blush and highlight powders sat nicely on the foundation.
I love the new Photoready Candid Foundation from Revlon. Talk about this being the perfect base! This foundation has a thick consistency without feeling heavy or cakey. It provides a smooth, full coverage look (even though it is advertised as medium coverage, for me it is definitely full) and you don't need much at all to cover your whole face.
It is oil free and is anti-blue light and anti-pollution, which for anyone leaving in a big city is an issue. And it's full of antioxidants, which I love!
I love the pump packaging - it is so convenient and hygienic.
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I think the size is a bit on the small side with only 22ml per package.
I love a medium coverage foundation so this revlon photoready candid foundation was a winner for me. This gives a lovely natural finish and a gorgeous dewey glo, really photoready as the name suggests. I love the pump bottle for ease of use and no mess, the packaging is lovely and its great value as I dont need to use a lot. Using this foundation gives my skin a lovely dewey flawless finish, I blend it with fingers and just finish with a bit of blush to highlight cheekbones. It lasts really well, all day without going oily or cakey. This is a real high quality foundation with lovely pigment and with 31 shades its easy to find a perfect match. The product feels nice and light to wear and covers imperfections really well without being heavy. I loved this foundation and would buy it again. I highly recommend it
I recently got this foundation and amaze how it does to my skin. It’s lightweight and easy to apply, it leave a me with flawless look and I love how it last all day without looking shiny/ oily. The texture medium beige is perfect for my skin and it really cover all my redness without any concealer added. The only thing I wish is that hope they make it a bigger size so it’s more valuable. Thanks Revlon!
A lovely product that makes my skin look so much better and almost flawless. On it's own, this foundation provides a matte satin finish without any setting powder. Really, just give it a minute to dry up and no setting powder required. I wouldn't recommend going for a high coverage because not only this tiny tube will run out very quickly, it will also starts creasing in some places after few hours.
Best worn as light or medium coverage, this foundation really can last whole day. It is also great at shine control and reflecting light - which I guess is what they mean by photo-ready. Although, I wouldn't be taking close up portraits with this (yup, I'm a photographer) as it weirdly highlights all the little bumps that you'd like to hide. But, having said that, it does work great with selfies on phone.
I absolutely love this foundation. I don't like to wear foundation that is too heavy on the face during the week. This leaves a light enough coverage; just enough to cover my imperfections and unwanted pores.I love a foundation that has a pump and for the bottle to free-stand upside down is a plus too.The formula is easy to blend with just a brush, no beauty blender/sponge required. The product leaves your skin looking fresh and flawless even though not much is needed on application. I don't believe this is a buildable formula and I honestly do not think it is needed. Once i set my powder over the top, my skin glowed as natural as it should be. I was not disappointed! It felt like my skin could breath and never felt cakey like some products tend to do so.I found it stayed in place all day long with no movement (i have combination skin). No touch ups were required.
