Redken Color Extend Brownlights Shampoo

Works well to remove brasiness from brown hair with highlights. The blue colour is very strong and stained my pillow case (but it did wash out). I wouldn't use this shampoo as my everyday shampoo but as a one a week or once a fortnight option to refresh dull colour as it does work to do that.

As with the conditioner, I have never used a hair product for a certain coloured hair. I have natural dark brown hair, which I also dyed black though I have lots of regrowth. The instructions say to use gloves when applying this product but I didn't have any so didn't use them. I didn't find any problem not using gloves; the shampoo did not stain my skin at all so I am glad about that. The shampoo itself is hydrating and makes my hair shiny and soft. I also found that my hair did not get greasy as quickly which is amazing, as I don't always like to wash my hair every day. I would definitely recommend this as well as the conditioner, which compliment each other nicely.

This shampoo is a bit different than the ones I used before (in a good way). Smells lovely, makes the colour lasts longer and makes my dull hair looks great. Thanks BeautyCrew for the opportunity to trial the product. Will definitely purchase the product in the future.

Received this as part of a beauty crew trial. I have brunette hair with brassy highlights and was excited to try this product. They shampoo is a very dark blue colour and I didn’t wear gloves as was recommended and the shampoo did stain my hands and fingernails. It left my hair feeling soft and definitely toned down the brassy colour of my highlights. However due to the need to wear gloves to apply this product and the blue tinge it left on my hairline and scalp I would not use this product often.

I LOVED this product, it made my hair feel so soft, look smooth and shiny and smelled amazing. The only downside is that you have to wear gloves everytime you use it but other than that i have no compaints, its definately worth the money.

I absolutely loved this Redken product. It's reassuring that the product also performs as it claims. I recently stopped dying my hair and with that came brassy colour, not pretty! I use the color extended brown lights shampoo and conditioner twice a week. The Brassy tones are minimal and my greys are no where near as noticeable.

What a great time to have this product :) haven't been to the hair dresser in 8 weeks, this lovely shampoo really has extended the life of my colour. It has a light sweet fragrance that isn't overpowering. Really enjoying this shampoo

Love this shampoo! Having used Redken products in the past but opting for cheaper alternatives, this has made me realise that sometimes it is worth paying a bit more for quality. Although quite messy (blue splashes everywhere and blue hands), this shampoo made my hair shiny and removed the brassy tones, plus a little goes a long way. Rich lather, pleasant fragrance, and I really noticed the difference when drying and styling my hair - so much more manageable. Definitely worth spending a little more on a good product, will be sticking with this one.

Thank you Beauty Crew for the opportunity to trial this! My review will be for the regime with points on why I liked each product. The regime: When i first received this I was a little confused. I did not know we could get blue toners for brunettes! Having recently changed my black hair to a dark brown balayage I was genuinely excited to try this regime. I have tried it a few times both with and without gloves (lets be honest HAVING to wear gloves in the shower everytime is a little bit annoying and not likely to be done by everyone.) But considering the price and time we spend at the salon I want to do something at home that will also benefit my hair. While it does leave a little of a temporary blue stain on nails, towels, pillowcase etc. It is nothing that doesnt wash out. I can say that this regime definately made an improvement on my hair. I am very prone to brassiness and my ombre colour is much more ashy than it was before I started using the shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo itself: The shampoo is pretty bright blue in sleek packaging 300ml. It retails for around $25-$30. I personally really like the fragrance of both as well. I feel it cleans my hair well and I will keep using to see if it continues to take out the brassiness effect. Whether you have colour treated or naturally brunette hair this regime is a winner in my books and deserves a space on your bathroom shelf.

I really enjoyed using this product. I am a very dark brunette naturally, and often find that products and the sun create a brassier tone. I’m definitely someone who prefers a cool tone (being very pale), and often my hairdresser tints my hair with bright blue or purple dyes to achieve this. I found that this was a really great, inexpensive way to do this at home and get the same results. The products smells amazing and it really seems like something that is salon quality at home. It can be a little bit difficult and messy to use, definitely not one for a quick wash in the morning, but great to use as a treatment to keep warm tones at bay. I recommend using disposable gloves if possible. I often get a quite a sensitive scalp, and this product didn’t aggregate it. I would recommend this product to any brunettes definitely something to keep their tones cool, and to be used as a treatment to keep her in excellent condition.

I love how the Redken Color Extend Brownlights Shampoo keep my colour looking healthy and vibrant. I have parts of my hair highlighted so I like to keep the brown retaining its rich colour, and keep the highlighted parts free from brassy tones. It’s a blue colour depositing shampoo, so it’s recommended you wear gloves, but I did on some occasions not bother with the gloves, and it’s just a bit of extra scrubbing of your hair to get rid of the blue. To use in the shampoo you wet the hair fully and then apply and leave for 3-5 minutes. If I am in the shower for a longer period of time, I will generally leave the shampoo on a few minutes extra. Then rinse out. Results wise it really help keep the unwanted brassy tones at bay. I love they look so refreshed and like I had just had a toner applied from the hairdresser. It’s been so useful during these COVID-19 times where I won’t be seeing the hairdresser for ages. It didn’t dry out my hair out at all instead my hair felt healthy and hydrated. The scent is soft and doesn’t irritate. I like that it’s also sulphate free to help keep my hair just that extra bit healthier. Love this shampoo, so glad to have discovered it.

honestly not a fan, its ok to use once a month. I found it hard to lather up and needed a lot of product its very pigmented and took forever to wash out and i had to really scrub to get it all out. It says to wear gloves but i can't shower with gloves on just not practical so i had to scrub to get the blue off my hands. After all that my hair didn't feel great i felt like i need to use my regular shampoo to get it to feel clean. My browns looked mousy after it was ok but nothing to rave about and the time it took in the shower. Not sure if i will keep using the product i did receive it to review, for the reason its a long process and i am a mum and don't have that time. It also didn't make my hair soft or shiny more than anything i needed to put a treatment in after, for that. I would recommend this product to someone that is trying to get brassy tones out and have a more natural cool brown.

I absolutely love this product! It lathers well, has a pleasant fragrance and made my hair feel clean and cared for. I was glad to have read the instructions first, as gloves are a must, and you need to allow enough time to leave the product in.

I was so excited to see this come through to review. I used to use redken all the time but have since moved to another brand but I have recently just had my hair dyed back to a more natural warm brown after being darker brown/black. I have been finding that with the warmer tones of brown they do becomes lightened fairly quickly after a few washes and of a more brassy tone which I don't like. I had my hair done 2 weeks ago now and have started to use this shampoo and conditioner and I'm not seeing any loss in colour!! Will definitely keep using and will invest in more too! I was quite happy with this shampoo and the results it gave me. I didn't get alot of time to trial this product properly but I was happy with what I saw and felt. This shampoo comes in a beautiful blue bottle with easy to read instructions and the shampoo itself is a gorgeous dark blue. Washing my hair with gloves on was a strange experience for me but I'm glad I read the instructions. My shower didn't end up stained blue which was very good news. I love how soft and clean my hair felt after just one use of this shampoo and my highlights still look perfect and the red brown colour in my hair was not stripped by this product.

I have my hair dyed. Recently it was looking dull and lacked luster. This shampoo refreshed my hair color and made my hair look as if I had freshly dyed them. It made my hair look glossy and soft too. The shampoo is quite thick and lathers really well. It also cleans my hair really well. The fragrance is amazing. The pigment of this shampoo is deep blue. You just have to make sure you rinse your hair really well as the water dripping from your hair is blue and if you have got residue of shampoo left it might stain your towels. Overall i love how this shampoo refreshed the color of my hair without the need to re-dye my hair.

Product arrived in lovely striking packaging. Smelt lovely and inviting to use. I was only able to use product once due to the strong colour of products. I used both the shampoo and conditioner and my scalp was left a horrible blue colour and my shower needed extensive cleaning to clean the blue colouring of products. It's not something I would buy or recommend to anyone unless the blue tone can be reduced. Thanks so much for the opportunity to trial.

The shampoo has a nice fresh scent and foams up really well. My hair is looking shinier and healthier after each wash! I really feel like I’ve found a reliable shampoo that does exactly what it claims.

I tried this shampoo and was a bit worried when I saw the bright blue colour out of the bottle. It lathered up well and was a nice scent. I didnt notice much change in the colour of my hair but it was nice and soft.
