Neutrogena® Rapid Wrinkle Repair® retinol oil

This is an oil serum with with 0.3% pure retinol and Vitamin E, and comes in a bottle with a push button dropper. Retinol is an ingredient that is prized for anti-aging but the difficulty is in formulation, as it is a very unstable ingredient that degrades quickly. I decided to give this a go after learning that Neutrogena does stability testing and their retinol is slow release. This product has 12 months POA on the label. The Ordinary's pure retinol (not their granactive retinoid products) formulas, on the other hand, have to be stored in the fridge and 3 months POA. This is sold as an oil and it is a bit oily on my combination skin. I use it at night only as instructed, and have to wait about half an hour before I apply moisturiser on top. There is fragrance in the formula but it is very light and unobtrusive. I experienced no irritation but I am also an experienced retinol user. This product is good for those who want a decent percentage of retinol in their product. Beginners can probably tolerate it if their skin is not too sensitive. It's easily available over the counter at pharmacies and even supermarkets and is often on sale. For me personally, it's not quite strong enough to have any effect. I will try the 0.5% Pro+ version soon.

After cleansing my skin at night I disperse 4-5 drops of the Rapid Wrinkle Repair® Retinol Oil to my skin by using the dropper to drop the oil into the palm of my hand then using my fingertips I gently massage it into my face using circular motions. The oil is sweet in smell, absorbs really well and efficiently into my skin leaving no residue or a oily shine. As someone with combination skin it can be hard to find oils that work for me, this just does. When I have used retinol serums before i usually need to really use them gradually otherwise I can look a bit flushed and will almost always having some dry skin and peel, this also didn’t happen with this oil to be extra cautious I did begin using it on alternate days but quickly realised I could use it daily. As it is enriched with retinol SA it provides faster results then some other forms of retinol alone. After using this for over a month I definitely have noticed a difference in my skin. Overall there is a a much better skin tone, colour my skin appears my hydrated the fine lines are more plump and skin appears smoother. I would definitely recommend this oil to those wanting anti-aging results with other skincare benefits such a improved appearance of skin and fine lines/wrinkles.

I have been using this oil every evening for about a month and from the first use, I started getting compliments on how glowy my skin looked. I love the oil formula of this retinol as it feels nourishing rather than drying. As with most retinol products, it took some time for my skin to aclimatise and it felt a little irritated at first, but now it is going on really easily with no issues. I got this product on sale so it was very reasonably priced and have been using it on the backs of my hands also. I don't love the smell, but it's worth it for the results. Will absolutely continue to use this product.

I’ve used the entire Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair range for a couple of years so it made sense to add the Retinol Oil to my skincare routine. My skin loves Retinol and I’ve never had any adverse reaction to it. I really like the design of the Rapid Wrinkle Repair range with its opaque silvery grey bottles, jars and tubes. The Retinol Oil is packaged in an opaque glass bottle with a dropper which allows for good control to dispense as much oil as is needed. As is the case with most facial oils, only a couple of drops are needed to cover the entire face and neck. The oil absorbs easily into my skin leaving it feeling well-nourished and looking radiant. I then apply serum, moisturiser and eye cream for my night time skincare routine. I love the way my skin looks so much better in the morning – firm, plump, smooth and glowing. For me, the Retinol Oil is a welcome addition to the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair range because it boosts my skincare routine to ward off fine lines and wrinkles.

I used Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle repair retinol oil at nightafter cleansing and before the night cream. It warned me that it might causeslight dryness, well my skin was already dry due to winter so after use it goteven more dry which I really didn’t like. It did leave a tingly feeling for awhile after, but all I all, I did see a slight decrease in lines after a fewweeks, so definitely worth the dryness!

I was so excited about this retinol oil and had heard so many rave reviews. I introduced it slowly in conjunction with the Neutrogena Rapid wrinkle repair cream and at nights at first because I'd heard your skin needs to build a tolerance for it. I was so pleasantly surprised at having such quick results. Within a week my skin appeared lifted and cleared, glowing with health but also dulling the appearance of stubborn wrinkles (especially frown lines). It feels luxurious on the skin and it has a light, pleasant fragrance. I'd definitely recommend it to others and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Dont know what is in this miracle oil  but it works.   I was thinking the oil would make my skin oily but it doesn't.  The small few drops seem to nourish the skin and I would use this under my moisturiser.   I love the easy applicator to measure a correct dosage.

The Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol Oil is a fantastic formulation being a dry oil it is quickly absorbed into the skin without feeling oily or greasy.  I followed this with the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Regenerating Cream and they woulrked well together.  My skin felt hydrated and smooth.  Dark spots reduced and face felt brighter as a result of use.  Would recommend.

This is a great product.  I have used more expensive retinal serums and I have had the best results with this.  I have quite noticeable pigmentation on my cheek and I saw an obvious improvement in less than a week.   The oil texture is different from anything I have tried and it absorbs quickly.  No perfumy smell which is good.  Overall great product.

This product was way too strong for my sensitive skin. It made it tight and uncomfortable. It also made me break out. I didn’t love it. I could feel it on my skin and felt it didn’t absorb as well as others- I could feel a residue on my skin.

Not a fan of oils, and this one takes a bit to absorb it into the skin.  It hasn't reduced my pigmentation or wrinkles, but might take more than a month - it does say 'over time'.  Not clear whether you should use it instead of/in conjunction with their cream.  Fairly expensive for what it is.

I don't use a retinol oil in my skin regime, however I used the wrinkle repair around my eye area, it was light to apply and at the same time my skin felt moisturised, I would use this product again on a regular basis to improve brightness, I also think it is a good price.

I trialled the Neutrogena Retinol Oil along with the Regenerating Cream and if both used on daily basis, the formulas can be quite strong. My skin received a burning reaction which needed at least 5 days to heal. After my skin healed,  I limit the use of these products on every other days, which my skin was able to take. The Retinol Oil has a silky textures & light on skin.  I also felt that after I overcome the reactions and flaky/dry phases, my skin looked plumped & nourished.

Love love love this oil. I used this at night, the dropper measured the dose perfectly, it smelt beautiful and not overpowering.I have dry skin and this was so hydrating. My skin felt soft and moisturised in the morning and had a nice sheen to it. After days of use, wrinkles were smoother and after weeks my skin was hydrated, smooth & overall texture was better. I will definitely continue to use this, this is by far the best facial oil I have ever used.

This product absorbed into my skin quickly and easily. The reaction my skin had to it only lasted a few days and I didn’t get another reaction during the trial. Love this product and I will buying it again when I get to end of this bottle. Already recommended to friends

I wasn't fussed on the idea of putting an oil on my skin before bed, but after my evening shower my skin did like it. Combined with the cream, I am pleasantly surprised with the results as I was skeptical and now wish I had done some before and after pics as one dark age spot under my eye has faded so much now it is only faint. I would definitely buy this again. It is easy to use with the cute push down top to fill the dropper and the silver jars don't look out of place in my bathroom. Over 50 I think I can safely say it did lessen the smaller wrinkles for me.

The Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair retinol oil is an anti-ageing product that is supposed to help nourish, renew and replenish skin.  I love that this comes in an opaque silver bottle with a dropper in the cap, so that you can't overdose too easily. The oil itself is relatively lightweight, which means that it doesn't sit around on the skin for long. Filled with retinol, this is meant to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots. I love how my skin feels smoother, and how it almost feels like my skin is drinking it in. Overall, it’s a beautiful oil and one worth buying!

I normally try to avoid oils in my skin care regeim as I have oily/ combination skin. When testing this product I used it at night only and always used it at the end of appling any other products.  Unfortunately this oil didn't seem to agree with my skin and made my skin greasy and just didn't seem to fully sink into skin leaving a film in top which was still there in the morning.  Having said that I feel this product might work well for the dry skin girls. It felt nice to touch and did glide well into skin.  There was no offensive smell and I think it would be a great value for money as a little of this product goes a long way.  Unfortunately it just wasn't right for my skin type.

My thirsty skin loves a good face oil, so I was very pleased to receive this product for review. And it did not disappoint. It was not heavy, it had good slip, but sunk in upon application, and sat well under makeup, for when I was stepping out of an evening, whilst wearing the more dryer, fussier textured MAC foundation I'd borrowed from a family member for last minute plans.  Menopause and MCTD has taken its toll on my complection these past two years, leaving me with texture and fine lines around my eyes and mouth area. I feel that they have been softened, whilst not causing any sensitivity issues normally associated with retinol products of old

With an eye-dropper application, the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair retinol oil is an effective night treatment, which has made my skin smoother and firmer. The oil is easy to apply and just 4-5 drops spreads well across my face each night. It absorbs well and doesn't leave an oily residue on my skin, which is important for a night product so you don't dirty your pillowslip! Using the retinol oil each night, in combination with the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair regenerating cream both day and night, has left my skin smoother and firmer. The combination did at first make my skin a bit flakey in the first week of use, but this was the exfoliating action of the retinol, which has resulted in smooth skin for me. I have used the cream before and loved it, and its efficacy was enhanced by using this retinol oil at night. The quality silvery-grey glass packaging make this a stylish bathroom product. Definitely recommend this!
