Affordable foundation
I recently snagged the Maybelline Superstay 24H Powder Foundation on sale, and let me tell you, it's become a staple in my makeup routine. I'm in love with the flawless coverage it provides. This foundation truly lives up to its name - it stays put all day, even through heat and humidity. The powder formula feels lightweight on my skin, and I appreciate how it doesn't settle into fine lines or pores. With a few swipes, it effortlessly evens out my complexion, leaving me with a natural-looking, matte finish. If you're on the hunt for a long-lasting and reliable powder foundation, this one is definitely worth a try!
Smooth complexion
It's been some time since I tried a powder foundation. It's been a nice experience trialling this one by Maybelline.
The colour match was spot on as I aligned it to a liquid foundation from Maybelline I currently use.
Having combination skin this came in handy towards late afternoon after wearing it all day to pat down any oil and essentially rejuvenate my complexion. Not only did I use it in this way but I applied it for a few dinners out and my makeup stayed together really well. It's easy to build if you wanted a heavier coverage.
It comes with the mirror and sponge making it easy to travel with and easy to touch up throughout the day if needed.
I recommend!
Powder foundation - yes!
I had not used a powder foundation for years as I usually prefer the dewy appearance that a liquid foundation gives my skin. But, I will admit I thought the Maybelline Superstay 23H Powder Foundation was great. My tip would be to make sure you've moisturised your face first. The colour was a great match for my skin and provided great coverage. My skin tone was even and pigmentation was covered up. I also liked that te foundation is buildable, so I could use more or less depending on what level of coverage I'm looking for. I'll be using again.
Great Coverage
I will definitely be purchasing this product again. The powder was incredibly easy to use and provided me with a natural flawless look. With its lightweight texture it blended easily and provided me with the coverage that I needed, and it lasted all day. The powder foundation fitted easily into my make up routing. The easy to apply powder meant that I could use the item on its own and still get the coverage that I needed, so it was perfect for days when I was in a rush and needed a simple routine.
Great product
Great product. Easy to apply and gave great coverage without feeling too caked on. Lasted a long time so was happy with that. Went well as a touch up over my usual morning make up but have me the coverage I needed to get through the day. Easy and compact application. Perfect colour match for me with a light/pale colour skin tone. Great matte finish taking away the shine and oily nature of my skin. Would highly recommend this product as a reasonably priced easy and effective option for everyday use
Powder Foundation 101
A great introduction to the powder foundation world!
As an avid BB cream/foundation user, this was my first foray into powdered foundations.
I was given the lightest shade to trial (03) and it is a very close match to my actual skin tone. Unlike liquid foundations, this didnt oxidise as much and still remained similar to my skin tone at the end of the day. In terms of coverage, I am extremely impressed with how the powder not only conceals but also blurs out pores (a big insecurity of mine) acting like both a foundation and a pressed powder. The packaging is nice and compact and includes a little compartment for the puff/pad to sit. I am quite rough with my belongings at time but this powder has still kept perfectly intact.
Unfortunately not for my dry skin
I was really looking forward to trying out the superstay powder foundation after seeing so many good reviews. As my skin is more on the normal to dry side I think this would definitely be a miss for me. I probably would prefer it in the warmer months if my skin wasn’t as dry. I do prefer the ability to build up my foundation and powder and this kind of gives you the full coverage from the first tap. I really love the maybelline fit me powder as it’s really fine and very buildable but this one is definitely more of a foundation.
Great coverage
This is a great powder foundation, with good staying power and coverage that you can build and reapply as needed. However, the colour did not match for me and that was a struggle. And I did have a look to see if they had more colours available in Australia however I couldn’t find one that had a yellow undertone. Colour match aside, I did love this product, it builds and blends very easily. Personally I used a brush to apply it, rather than the applicator provided with the product. And I did love it. It’s a great product, but I’ll probably only use it when I tan etc as they don’t have a yellow undertone which was the only let down.
Good product!
I have oily/combination skin and the Maybelline Superstay Powder Foundation really gives a smooth finish. It is easy to apply and use. I used this product when I’m traveling to work and I would find that by the end of the day, my face is quite oily. I’m not sure about the 24 hour stay for oily/combination skin.. as I would need to touch up during the day. In saying that, I found the product to be travel friendly, as there is a mirror for those quick touch-ups if you’re on the go! I was surprised to notice that it comes with a makeup sponge, which is underneath the powder foundation section. But, this sponge is quite thin and hard to use.
Overall, good product but not my ideal go-to for oily/combination skin.
Great light weight on the go alternative
For a powder foundation, the Maybelline Superstay 24 hour powder foundation is a great on the go product for those who prefer a lightweight feeling with good coverage.
If you have dry skin like I have, you will find that this product exacerbates the dryness. Less is more with this foundation as you would find this more suitable for a daily "natural" look rather than a formal/glamorous "cake" look. Blending is fairly easy with a good brush, however if you use a setting spray on top, it would turn quite patchy.
Overall, an interesting product which does the job of most entry level luxury brands at an affordable price point.
Ok
Thanks for the opportunity to trial this powder foundation. It came with a puff and was relatively easy to apply- though I found using a brush was better. I have combo skin and found that while this kept me matte and relatively shine free, the powder unfortunately did end up looking dry on my skin and also created some dry patches. It also settled into lines which I didn’t like. For this reason, I wouldn’t buy again as I feel other maybelline foundations are more superior and don’t have the dry patchy effect on my skin.
Perfect for additional coverage
Prior to this product the concept of a powder foundation did not appeal to me. I thought a powder foundation would result in a cakey appearance, so I was pleasantly surprised by how natural I found this foundation. As someone with oily skin, my preferred use was applying a light layer across my t-zone on top of my liquid foundation. I found this assisted at keeping my skin looking fresh and the oil at bay.
Apart from the product, the actual packaging is nice, sturdy and includes a sponge and decent sized mirror making this the perfect product to toss in my page for touch ups.
Completely wrong colour match
I usually love a full coverage powder foundation for two reasons. Firstly, it helps cover my acne prone skin and secondly, my skin is so oily that it usually is the only thing that works when combined with a loose powder to keep my oils under control. I was hesitant to trial this product because usually Maybelline base products break my sensitive skin out. Unfortunately, I was sent this product to review and got sent the completely wrong shade for me (way too dark) so don't feel like I can give this product the fairest review. It was definitely long lasting and had full coverage but the shade was all wrong so was unable to test to its full capability.
Long last powder
I liked this maybelline super stay 24H powder foundation. The first time I applied it with the puff provided in the packet and found I didn’t like the way it sat on my skin, although lightweight it made my skin look quite caked. The next time I applied this with a brush after my liquid foundation as a setting powder. Using the brush I found it had set my foundation with an even tone to my skin. The make up lasted all day without requiring touch up.
I liked how my skin didn’t appear dry and it was even across my skin.
Good Compact Foundation
Overall this is quite a nice foundation. I ended up using a brush to put it on as the applicator it came with wasn’t really cutting it for me. I did notice unless very lightly brushing across the skin that it was sometimes looking a bit patchy, wasn’t super easy to smooth across the skin. It has pretty good coverage and i definitely recommend it for touch ups, it’s nice and compact so easy to slip in your purse or handbag. I didn’t try it over any other foundations, just on moisturised and primed skin so I couldn’t say if it was any better to put on over other foundations. But all in all i thought it was quite good. I’ll be continuing to use this product.
Nice Powder
I have dry skin so I tend to stay away from powder foundations, however I have an open mind and won't say no to trying a new product. I always prep my face with hydrating products before applying any foundation and I used that same routine before applying this powder. I tried applying with both the puff it came with and with a powder brush - I much preferred using the powder brush. The powder foundation applied reallg easily and I liked the coverage. Definitely not full and did not cover all of my acne pigmentation but still great coverage for a natural look. I did have to touch up some areas throughout the day but overall I liked the longetivity. The powder didnt cling to any dry patches on my face. I also tried the powder on top of my go to liquid foundation but I found it made my face look cakey (I usually use a translucent powder to set my liquid foundation). Definitely worth a try if you are looking for a lightweight powder foundation with medium coverage.
Good but not great
This was my first time using a powder foundation, being a dry skin gal, I normally use liquid foundations, so was excited to trial this.
My first impressions were that the product felt light on my skin, and gave a blurring airbrushed effect. I was impressed!
I liked the idea that it was a small compact with all that you needed, a soft pad to pat into your skin and mirror. However, I quickly discovered it wasn't so easy to use as there was no tab or anything to help hold the pad to apply the foundation. It would of made a big difference if it had something to place the fingers on the back, like you would on a cushion compact, instead it felt clunky to use even though it felt great on the skin. So I wouldn't recommend relying on that to apply a full face, but would be useful for touch ups.
The foundation itself was easy to use, and coverage was easy to build. I found that it was easy to look "cakey", so it was best to apply a bit at a time to avoid overdoing it.
Over all, the product wasn't too bad, especially at the price point, however I will not be switching from my liquid foundation to this.
First time Powder Foundation User
I love Maybelline products and use their liquid foundation, lip and eye products so I was very intrigued by their 24H powder foundation. I like the simple packing and the convenience of applying something in powder form instead of messing with liquid foundations, so had some expectations going in. However I don't think the powder foundation was my favourite, definitely not on it's own. I think it's important to match the right colour shade and mine was close but I would have preferred one shade lighter. It also took a lot of product to get a good amount of coverage. I would recommend this as a touch up product on top of your foundation but not by itself.
Maybelline Powder Foundation
Maybelline SuperStay Powder Foundation is a decent option if you're looking for a quick and easy way to even out your skin tone. The coverage is average, providing a light to medium level of coverage that helps blur minor imperfections. It's great for a natural, everyday look.
The powder itself has a smooth texture, making it easy to apply and blend. However, it can feel a bit heavy on the skin, especially if you build up the coverage. It tends to emphasize dry patches, so proper moisturization is a must.
While the staying power is decent, it does start to fade and become patchy after a few hours, especially in oily areas. Touch-ups throughout the day may be necessary to maintain a consistent look.
The packaging is functional but not extraordinary. It comes with a sponge applicator, which can be handy for on-the-go touch-ups, but I find that using a brush yields a more seamless and natural finish.
Overall, Maybelline SuperStay Powder Foundation gets the job done if you're looking for a quick and lightweight coverage. While it has some limitations in terms of staying power, it's an average powder foundation option that can be suitable for casual everyday wear.
maybelline powder
Thanks for the beauty crew team for a chance to trial Maybelline Superstay 24H Powder Foundation. I have a combination and normal skin and the the formula of Powder Foundation is good and it feels nice on the skin. The formula is lightweight. The colour matched my skin tone. The only thing is that it doesn't stay long and you have to reapply it after few hours. If you are like me and like more natural look, you won't need much of this product. I also really like that it was made in Italy which is a BIG YES from me. I would totally recommend this product.
