Maui Moisture Lightweight Curls + Flaxseed Shampoo

Love the packaging and the ingredients list in this! Smells really fresh and foams up quite easily. I did my usual double shampoo and my hair felt clean but not stripped dry. The lightweight formula helped not to weigh down my hair as I have quite thin hair. I’ll see how I go when I completely finish the bottle. May or may not repurchase, as I didn’t see much of a difference in my curls. I do enjoy how it lathers up though! Recommend maybe for someone who has tighter curls or more defined, this may work better for you. No harm in trying it, it’s a great formula!

I was so excited to have received this in the I couldn't wait to trial this on my dry, frizzy and brittle curly hair. Good value for money for the size of the product and upon first use my hair was nice and clean without feeling my natural oils being stripped and gentle on my colour-treated hair. After regular use my hair felt softer and my curls started to look tighter, more defined and less frizzy also less breakage! The smell of the shampoo is lovely, pleasant and also organic which is nice to know I'm using that's more environmentally friendlier.

I was so excited to try the Maui lightweight curls range because I had just started using the Maui brand at home myself. I have thin wavy hair and wanted to see if it would define my curls and leave my hair more soft. I really loved that it has no silicones and parabens as well. The shampoo smells so good and tropical as well! I used the shampoo and conditioner for about a month and I wash my hair roughly twice a week. After using the range I found my hair was soft, easier to brush and also had alot of shine. I will continue to use the Maui range now as I really like the improvement in my hair :)

Wow, what a shampoo! My curls have never looked shinier, bouncier or more refreshed. As any curly haired gal knows, it is super difficult to find a shampoo that doesn't feel like your strands are being held down so as to not be frizzy. This hydrating shampoo feels like it glosses over my strands and leaves them formed and fresh. Added bonus? Smells like summer! I would highly recommend to anyone who has been searching for 'the one' for their curly hair and who wants to embrace their natural 'do rather than facing the burning tongs. I've found mine!

This did wonders for my hair! I am always sceptical when a product says its targeted for a certain hair type but this changed my mind. My hair always suffers from frizz and so even though I have naturally loose curly hair, I end up using a curling wand to be able to get pretty curls without the frizz. After using only this shampoo and conditioner for a month I can let my hair air dry and have beautiful curls without needing to use any hot tools or antifrizz serum (that makes my hair oily and means washing it more regularly, its a vicious cycle 😅). I am so happy with this product and being able to wear my natural hair is a total game changer for getting ready in the morning and my overall hair health. If you suffer from frizzy or unruly curly hair, definitely recommend trying this! It's changed my hair just in time for summer and long beach days ❤️

The Maui Moisture Lightweight Curls Flaxseed Shampoo is a lightly fragranced shampoo that is easy to use and leaves hair not feeling weighed down. Its fragrance is soft and subtle but still smells fresh. It helped my usually frizzy, wavy hair have some more pronounced curls. My hair felt soft and clean after I used this product. The packaging is nice and says what it does in easy to read instructions. I like that it has some natural products in the first ingredients. I would recommend this shampoo to someone with light, wavy textured hair.

I have to say when I first started using this I was doubtful. I had used other shampoos that claimed to make hair curlier but I persisted with it for a month. First of all the smell is amazing - it smells like summer and is tropical and refreshing. It lathers up perfectly but the best thing about this is I found that I used to have really dry itchy scalp. Now that I have been using this for nearly 4 weeks I have found that my itchy scalp has completely gone. I have also noticed that my hair is not as frizzy or dry and even my knots seem more manageable. I would buy this again and recommend it.

This shampoo was just what I needed. I am pregnant and was avoiding products with sulfates and phalates and thankfully enough this shampoo excludes both which makes it safe to use. The smell is amazing and the texture and smoothness of my curls after just a few uses was enough to convince me to repurchase in the future. Would highly recommend for wavy and curly hair and it works extremely well in combination with the conditioner. Fantastic products and a must try. i have already recommended it to friends and family.

Maui Moisture Lightweight Curls + Flaxseed Shampoo helped tamed my usually frizzy hair into more manageable waves. It cleansed my hair without stripping away too many natural oils, leaving it shiny and weightless. I was able to skip over a few other products I usually use for styling, as my hair felt so great. The formula is extra moisturising with aloe vera and flaxseed, along with many other great features. It is vegan, silicone and paraben free. The smell is beautiful and light, perfect for summer. I enjoyed using this shampoo and will look for others in this range to enjoy.

Product came in a cute container, easy to hold being square instead of round/oval (especially with slippery hands!) Product was clear, with quite a light, fresh scent and not heavy at all. Lathered up very well with not to much product. I felt like it did a good job of cleansing my scalp, however felt like it left a oily film over my hair, meaning that my hair was greasy within a day or two (I can usually stretch it out to 3-4 days). I wouldn’t say that it did anything to help define my curls, as my hair stayed just wavy, like normal.

I really loved how nice the texture of the product was and the fragrance was lovely. My hair was super shiny after drying and my hair didn't feel weighed down. The only slight issue I had was that I found I needed to wash my hair more regularly than usual, I'm not sure if maybe there was residue left after washing. The size of the bottle is perfect and a little goes a long way so I don't have to restock as frequently. I would definitely repurchase this one as it was a lot more hydrating than one I was previously using. When my hair dried I found my natural curls wouldn't be knotty either!

True to its name, this shampoo is very lightweight! It cleaned my hair and scalp effectively without leaving it feeling dry, tangly or stripped of moisture. It didn’t leave a film in my hair and just left it feeling squeaky-clean. It lathers really well and smells amazing- a real citrus/coconut blend that immediately reminds me of summer! While I personally love the scent, anyone who is sensitive to smells may not like this line, as it is quite strongly scented. Overall, this is a great shampoo, especially for the price!

My hair is naturally wavy and it gets frizzy if I don't dry my hair with a dryer. I started using the shampoo early October, so it's been around a month since I started using it. Firstly, the shampoo smells fresh, it leaves your hair smelling very clean after. Since it has Aloe Vera, the shampoo does not dry out and tangle my hair, it leaves my hair smoothly before I put on the conditioner, but still feeling cleaned. The shampoo keeps frizzy calm but also keeps volume intact. It is a great drugstore option!

Really excellent shampoo. I can't think of when I last tried a new product that had such a noticeable difference on my hair. I have wavy/curly underneath fine hair that gets frizzy easily and is hard to smooth out. I also get it coloured which makes all of these problems worse! I felt like this nourished my hair without weighing it down and curls were noticeably softer. It also didn't get greasier any sooner than normal which I worry about with moisture focused shampoos. It lathered really well and you didnt need to use a huge amount. Also had a great scent!

I actually really liked using this product! I had not used anything from Maui before and to my surprise the product was actually really good! I usually have a wave to slight curl in my hair and this product was suited perfectly to my hair type. It did not make my hair oily or change the texture of it, I feel like my curls actually came out a but more bouncy than usual. Overall I would purchase this product again, it does have a smell which depending on your preference you may it may not like. Would recommend to anyone with similar hair type to myself.

This shampoo worked well on my hair to create soft hair and slightly define my waves. I have fine hair, but lots of it and tend to get frizzy very easily - I found that when I washed my hair with this shampoo and conditioner, my hair was light and airy, not so frizzy, as it often is. The scent and consistency is pleasant and not offensive - in line with what I'd expect from a supermarket/Pharmacy brand and Maui, as I have used this brand many times before. I also found that my hair looked shiny with regular use of this shampoo. While I think this shampoo was good for my hair, I don't think it was good for my scalp. After a month of using 2-3 times a week, my scalp became increasingly dry, itchy and flakey. It's worth noting my scalp is prone to this, but it was in good condition prior to commencing this trial. So for this reason, I would not repurchase, but would recommend to others with dry, wavy/frizzy hair.

This is the first product from the Maui Moisture Hair Care range that I have used. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with the Lightweight Curls + Flaxseed Shampoo. The scent is a beautiful soft coconut and citrus blend that is just really appealing and gentle on the nose. One thing that I look for in a shampoo is a good lather without stripping my hair. This product gives a perfect light lather without bubbling too much. It leaves my hair feeling soft, bouncy and most importantly, CLEAN! After using the Maui Lightweight Curls + Flaxseed range, I would absolutely use the range again and I’m keen to try something else in the range such as one of the hair masks.

This was my first time trying a curly shampoo and I have had some really good results! My hair is very fine and has a natural wave to it which I’ve never styled before. It’s also very dry and heat damaged. I used this product by shampooing my roots twice and conditioning my ends once. I found once I got out of the shower and scrunched my hair, there was a bit of a natural wave already. With the use of a curl conditioner and styling mousse, the waves held once my hair dried. I haven’t rated this 5 stars as I find my hair gets really knotty and dry. This is likely due to my damaged hair but important to note. Could also be due to my lack of knowledge when it comes to styling wavy hair. Overall, I think this product is really great and I’m keen to try more from this range.

This was my first time using the shampoo and conditioner, (well any product really) from the Maui range, and I was pleasantly surprised at the results I had. Please excuse the terrible jokes in my review, I was really feeling a Disney theme would be the go. I have been on a forever search trying to find my Happily Ever After products (“You want thingamabobs/Shampoo’s? I got twenty”) that give me those Disney Princess “I always wake up with my hair this way ” vibes and let me tell you, this product comes bloody close on the silky feel scale. I trialed both the shampoo and conditioner products for 4 weeks, as per the recommendations and washed my hair once to twice a week - my hair is often up for work so I can get away with not washing it too often. To shampoo wash I followed the directions on the care card - apply shampoo generously to wet hair, massage into a lather through to ends, then rinse the hair thoroughly. After shampooing, I followed with conditioner. After my first wash, I noticed how clean, healthy and hydrated my hair felt. I couldn’t believe how silky and smooth it felt, and just after one wash! I was keen to rinse and repeat, quite literally, and trial my new found potential shampoo Prince Charming. These bottles are pretty good value for the price too - it’s not the biggest bottle I’ve seen, but the product really goes a long way, and I didn’t feel like I had to use a large amount of shampoo to get a good lather going. You might say it’s like hiding a Genie in a bottle.. The actual bottle is relatively user friendly. I have not used enough product to see if it would be annoying to get out when running low, so that is TBD. But so far, so good. Definitely a fan of the scent too. It does NOT smell chemical-y, or like a dozen rotten eggs dropped in a vat of vinegar. I couldn’t really describe the smell to you, but it IS definitely pleasant, and it was enough for my Prince Charming to comment on how good my hair smelt.. Like side note, what are you trying to say Kevin, did my hair not smell good before??? I certainly noticed a physical improvement in my hair - it is definitely smoother, stronger and silkier than before. I have gone from Merida levels of frizz to Ariel’s underwater locks (and that’s without brushing my hair with a fork!) All that said, I’m ever so slightly disapointed to say that I can’t say I noticed an increase in my curls at all, which is the only reason why I’m giving this product a 4 star instead of 5. But a big thumbs up for the everything else! I would definitely recommend this shampoo to friends, family and you, internet reader, this product will give you locks to rival even the swish-i-est of the Disney Princess’s hair, but please note, happily ever after and Prince are not included!

My hair is more wavy than curly – however I wanted to give this a try to see if it would help me achieve more “I naturally woke up like this” hair days than “frizzy mess”. I have to say that after trialling out the new Maui Moisture Lightweight Curls + Flaxseed Shampoo and Conditioner I’m pleased with the results. Always a fan of vegan / natural products if possible, and the Aloe Vera definitely works to hydrate and smooth. Shampoo has a good lather, and leaves hair clean but not dry, and when followed with the conditioner that melts instantly into your hair, detangling is incredibly easy (just with my fingers) When rinsed out hair still feels soft and hydrated, and when gently towel dried I did find that my hair tended to generally settle better into shinier waves rather than frizzy or flat, with minimum product. Pleased but not amazed by this product. Would recommend as a good lightweight “every other wash” option for curly haired girls in between styling.
