Disappointing Product
I gave this product a couple of months use to see if it would actually work for me as I had quite a bit of hair loss after surgery and have been looking for and trying many products to improve density and growth of hair. Unfortunately I didn’t notice any difference. When spraying on scalp it gave me a tingly sensation so I was hopefully something was happening but I was very disappointed. The only positive thing I have to say is that I liked the smell. I wouldn’t recommend this product. Save your money for something that works
Not great
Not sure how I feel about this product. The instructions for it weren't the clearest. I ended up just using it daily at night on dry hair.
I thought the product was super easy to apply, just part your hair in multiple places, spray and massage a bit.
It's hard to tell over the few months I've been using it as to how much of an effect it had on my hair growth. My roots came in healthily but not sure if it really boosted growth that much.
The consistency of the spray also gave my hair a really greasy weighed down feeling. I only wash my hair 1-2 times a week so that made using this product a struggle because my hair looked immediately dirtier afterwards.
Overall, I feel like my roots came in nice and healthy but I don't think I will continue to use this product due to how it made my hair feel and look immediately after application.
Unsure at this stage...
I think it's too early to say if this product works. I have used it religiously and have not found any negative effects, but I thought I would see more of a difference in my hair consistency and fallout at this stage. Will keep using it and will buy it again.
The texture is great and the product is easy to use. Once I see if it works as well as it claims to I will recommend it to friends.
It's a nice little addition to my night routine.
Thanks, L'Oréal for a product that can help people with such a sensitive topic!
A good-quality product but not really for me.
I received this product as part of the review crew.
The look and feel of the bottle was fancy and expensive, and it seemed like a good-quality product.
I found the texture and smell quite pleasant, however it is not a product that I would buy and use regularly.
I only wash my hair about twice a week, and it is recommended to use this serum daily. I found that it built up on my scalp and made my hair look dirty after a couple of days. I ended up having to wash my hair more often to use it properly, and I don’t really have time to do that with my lifestyle. When my hair was clean and I applied it, it did feel like it added volume to my hair, but I didn’t notice a difference in hair growth over the time I used it, but it seems like others have, so maybe it works better for some people than others!
One more great L’Oreal product
I was very excited to try L’Oréal Professionnel Scalp Advanced Serioxyl Density Serum.
I have anyways dreamed about healthy full hair with good volume. Recently after I had a baby I experienced a major hair loss so I was especially thrilled to give it a go.
Packaging - very nice looking bottle like pretty much any L’Oréal product, I love this brand so it fit right in on the shelf in my bathroom.
Smell- I’m very sensitive to smells but I found that this serum smells nice and not too strong/ not too chemical.
Consistency - I personally found it easy to spray and spread the product around the scalp. I just gently massaged it into the scalp to make sure it gets to the roots. It is a little bit too watery for my liking and I would have preferred it to be slightly thicker serum-type as if you spray too lychee it will drop down your face. I also loved that it doesn’t make my hair look greasy as it is bog thing for me. Normally majority of the products weight my hair down abs make them look oily so I’m very conscious of this.
Results- I did notice baby hair around the hairline and I think you will see good results after the consistent use. I also noticed definite improvement in hair fullness and super excited to keep using product to help me to achieve my gold towards healthy hair.
Price- as I purchase L’Oréal products quite frequently I normally find their products good quality justify the price so I think it’s reasonable price for salon style product. I will definitely re- purchase.
Nice product
I was lucky one to get to try this L’Oréal professional serioxyl advanced x serum for dense hair .
I live ho it’s one serum for all hair type hence you don’t need different products for each family member if you were you use it for more than one person in family.
It’s easy to use all you need is to part your hair in 4 and use upto 6 sprays in each part you can either apply with your fingers or directly spray on the scalp and the gently massage and leave it in . The only issue I have when using it straight in scalp is it’s hard to control product and you can end up using more than what you actually need for each part.
It has a very watery consistency which again can be an issue for some people as it runs down so quickly been too watery and can end up being very messy.
I love the smell of this product it’s typical L’Oréal smells which makes it stand out as that smell is staying in your hair for quite a while so if you are not a fan of strong smell products it’s not a product for you.
Now I have been using this for about 4 weeks and I can see some new hair growth around my hairline but not too much. My hair texture has improved for sure.
I love the packaging of this product especially the spray as it adds to the easiness of using this product. The blue colour is definitely very royal. It’s easy to buy from most pharmacy shops hence easy to excess and get your hands on to try.
Some improvements in hair density
I’m in my 60’s and have experienced some hair loss and having quite fine hair for someone with dark hair was very keen to try this hair serum.
I used it consistently for a month and found it easy to use and the fragrance was pleasant and not overpowering.
I have noticed some thickening of my hair, it appears to be more dense and strangely it appears less grey, which was not something that was promoted by the product. I’m not sure that my hair retains the density once I wash it again.
Would I spend this price point to continue to use it? Probably not as I’m a girl on a budget.
Smells and feels great
This product smells nice and helps the hair feel more fresh but hasn’t changed the density in my hair yet, even though I’ve been using it for several weeks. But overall it does make my hair feel more fresh. I have been using it for an overall of 4 weeks, yet despite that it hasn’t changed milky hair density. I used it about twice a week before going to bed. Yet sometimes it does leave like a powdery residue / feel on your fingers after you finish massaging it in your hair, which was a little off putting texturally
Need more time - easy to use
Good size bottle with easy to use pump. I was surprised by how liquid the formula is. I would use my scalp massager whenever I used this. The scent is fine.
It’s hard for me to comment on how effective it is as I need more time to be able to give an honest review on the effectiveness of the product. There is a lot in the bottle so it will last a long time but I suspect getting two bottles and using them all up would help judge whether the product is effective and achieves what it says it will.
I experienced no negative side effects and found it an easy thing to incorporate into my routine
No results yet but smells nice
I have dark hair and a very white scalp so my thinning patch on my crown is very noticeable.
I sadly can’t say if it has worked yet as I think it’s too soon to say - I have only used it for a month and am not great at sticking to a routine to be honest.
I think was worried it would make my already oily hair greasy but it didn’t which was a nice surprise - it smells nice and left my hair with the same sort of textural feel that a volumising mousse would.
Fingers crossed it makes a difference!
Googling the active ingredients doesn’t bode very promising but I’m willing to give most things a try!
Might not be for everyone
I didn’t get to use this product much because I’m a busy mum of 2.
When I did use this product I didn’t like how it made my scalp feel. I’m very sensitive to hair products and often don’t like the way it makes my hair/scalp feel.
The smell of it was a little too overwhelming for me also.
The easy to use nozzle was a bonus.
Overall I don’t think this product was for me with such a busy lifestyle and sensitive scalp/skin.
I will definitely be buying my father one of these for Christmas though.
Lifted roots!
I quite liked this product! My hair is oily roots with dry ends and this didn’t weight down my roots at all! My hair felt more textured and had more volume at the roots. It’s maybe too early to say if it’s helping with growth or more hair but overall the packaging was convenient, the smell was lovely and it didn’t clash with any other post shower hair products.
I sprayed liberally onto my scalp and then after massaging blow dried my hair. I actually found my hair became less oily too and didn’t need to be washed as frequently!
Density Serum results
Very easy to apply.this product was very easy to use leaving my hair consistently feeling soft and clean.I think i would need to apply more to see if it actually made my hair fuller but it felt like my hair overall feel was better. When I first started using it the smell was quite confronting but I have now gotten used to it.If anyone was struggling with hair density I would definitely recommend this product. I think that the product would be great if the instructions were clearer like when we should apply it and specifically where but overall a fantastic product
On the fence
I have fine and thin hair. My scalp tends to get oily and my ends are dry from lightening and colouring. I feel like my scalp hasn’t recovered since lightening my hair as my hair is thinner than it used to be.
I was hoping that this would improve my hair density but it’s still hard to say. The consistency of the serum is thin and watery which with the spray nozzle, made it easy to apply to the scalp. Although, I was surprised when it made my hair feel weighed down and a bit greasy. I haven’t noticed any real changes to the thickness of my hair but it’s hard to say since I’d expect it would take a few months to see results.
For now I’m undecided but will keep on using it.
Nice product
I enjoyed using the L’Oréal Professionnel Scalp Advanced Serioxyl Density Serum and recommended it for individuals who are starting to noticing thinning hair or concerned about hair loss.
The bottle looks quite high end and like it belongs at a high end salon. The product is easy to pump out with a very pleasing scent.
I would have to say that I was very conscious of applying too much of the product as I felt that it would make my hair feel flat. The product would be better if it could be a little more absorbent.
I trialed the product, however I’m not sure if I could justify the price of the product if I was to purchase it for consumption. It seems like it’s quite pricey and quite easy to consume it quickly.
Seeing some growth
I have an injury on my dominant hand wrist/fingers and it can get painful to use a pump style spray where you have to pump repeatedly.
I was also surprised by the liquid consistency of the serum. I was expecting it to be viscous.
It’s not too bad to part hair and spray the serum on scalp but the liquid consistency of the serum and the fact it evaporates quickly makes it hard to spread around on the scalp. Hence you have to continually part hair and spray. My injured wrist/fingers did not appreciate repeatedly having to pump the nozzle.
I’ve seen some results especially the baby hairs growing around my hairline. I’m not sure a spray bottle product is ideal for me at this point though, because of my injury.
I tried to unscrew the bottle to decant into a more user friendly packaging but I couldn’t get the bottle open.
More time needed
I used this for a few days then my husband who is balding badly got his hands on it. He used it consistently for approx 5-6 weeks. I think it is starting to make a small difference. It really needs more time and consistent use to see results.
The serum smells lovely, it is more like water than a thick serum. When applying you need to be careful not to spray on too much as it will run down face and neck. It goes a long way especially on thinning hair. My husband is still using it and I am hopeful that he sees a decent result by the time he finishes the bottle. He has about a third of the bottle left.
It is non greasy and once his hair dries you would not know he has any product in it at all.
It seems to moisturise the scalp as the skin looks in really good condition.
I haven’t notice any speed in growth of his hair however I feel there maybe new hair growth production.
Easy to use product!
I was pleased to have been given the opportunity to trial L'Oreal Professionnel Scalp Advanced Serioxyl Density Serum as I have been experiencing hair loss and thinning around my hairline for the last 18 months. This has been due to a combination of a side effect of Covid-19, a strict Keto diet and also regular use of heat styling products.
Firstly, the packaging is compact and I found that the special nozzle helped to distribute the serum easily on any areas needed on the scalp. The serum itself was light and its fragrance was not overpowering.
I used the serum on my hairline once a day for just under a month and I found it quite easy to apply although it did make my hair look a little greasy if I used too much. Not great as I often try to stretch a professional blow-dry to once a week but found this was not possible while using this serum.
The plus side is that I have noticed slight change and improvement in the fullness and condition of my hair in my problem areas and am looking forward to continuing to use this serum over the following months to see the longer term results.
I will also add that the cost of this product is very reasonable compared to another product from a well-known hairdressing brand that has been recommended to me recently.
Need more time to evaluate this
I can't say I have seen a difference as of yet so I think this requires more time to determine whether it works. It has not been long since I started using it.
I really liked the look of the product - it looks like a luxury product with an elegant body.
I can say that the texture was quite light, without much smell and felt easy to apply and massage.
The pump was a good addition and dispenses a set amount each time which I found was enough for my head. I did find if you pump into one section, sometimes the product ends up on the hair and by the time you put the bottle down, you have less to massage with. However, I think this may just have been user error.
Lightweight hair serum
I have used the L’Oreal Professionnel Scalp Advanced Serioxyl Density Serum daily for several weeks and it has a lovely lightweight texture, although I haven’t noticed a huge difference in the volume or density of my hair.
This hair serum is fairly quick and easy to apply to the scalp and it absorbs well and doesn’t feel heavy or sticky. It has a pleasant fragrance and I didn’t experience any tingling or itchiness with this hair serum. This product is concentrated and you only need to use a few drops each application and although the bottle isn’t too big, it still seems to be lasting me a while even after weeks of daily use. It contains unique ingredients Stemoxydine and Resveratrol to help increase hair volume, and although my hair density hasn’t increased, I have noticed a slight reduction in hair loss. Overall, I find this hair serum is a bit pricey and I was expecting slightly better results, although I will continue using this product daily to see if I notice visible improvement in my hair volume.
