L’Oréal Paris Elvive Smooth-Intense Heat Protect Cream

The main purpose of this product is to protect from the damage caused by heat styling tools and that it does. But otherwise I found it to be quite a mediocre product. May be I started with the wrong expectation. Kerastase keratine Thermique creme is one of my favourite hair products and when I saw this one the shelf with similar description in terms of performance and that to for fraction of the previous one's price, I was very happy and thought that being products of the same parent company - L'Oreal - they must be of similar quality. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. As they say, you get what you pay for. Although this one protects from heat damage and does not so bad a job at keeping the frizz caused by humidity at bay and that too without weighing down my fine hair, it doesn't come anywhere close to Kerstase Thermique. The most off putting thing for me was the fragrance. Just way too sweet, which luckily was gone by the time my hair were fully dried. The feel of the creme is another thing that bothers me. It leaves my hands feeling quite sticky. Overall, not a bad product but doesn't live up to my expectations from L'Oreal.

I'm a morning shower person, and on hair-wash days, it's hard for me to let my hair dry naturally before leaving for work. This L'Oreal leave-in cream has been a life-saver for those days when I need to blow-dry my hair, or when it's uncooperative. Doubling as a heat-protect cream and anti-frizz agent, this is a handy all-in-one hair product that is perfect for blow-drying, straightening or curling. It protects my hair against the hot appliances, reduces fly-aways, and almost completely eradicates frizz. When drying my hair, I feel like it also helps to add some volume to my otherwise limp hair.  I like to run the cream (although it's more gel-like in consistency) through my hair from about mid-way to the ends, focusing especially on the ends which are very dry. My favourite thing about it is that once it comes into contact with heat, it disappears and doesn't leave any stickiness or residue. It's such a relief to be able to leave the house everyday with smooth, frizz-free hair! As an added bonus, the smell of the product is quite pleasant - sort of floral and vanilla-like. Overall, a great purchase that I would highly recommend to anyone searching for a 3-in-1 haircare product that protects against heat, reduces frizz, and adds volume. 

I recently took a gamble on this and I'm so pleased with it. There are so many thermal protectant products out there, but many I've tried leave my hair sticky or clumpy. I have really thick hair and live in a generally warm climate, so that could be a part of it. But I loved the way the Smooth Intense cream acted like a barrier between my hair and the straightener, leaving it soft to the touch. It's smell is gorgeous too, like a light, warm perfume.
