Feeling softer and looking brighter

I absolutely love this product! To start - you barely need any. A little goes a long way. The applicator is pretty easy to use as a dropper, it doesn’t completely fill the dropper but you get enough out of a squeeze to do entire face and neck/chest. It’s a really smooth consistency and absorbs quickly The first thing I noticed when using the product was my skin itself was so much softer. My skin is on the drier side and I found it just really evened up the texture and I immediately fell in love. Being postpartum and having been pregnant during summer, my skin tone was quite uneven having picked up a lot of pigmentation on top of what I already had. I myself noticed a difference in how it was starting to even out but it wasn’t till other people started commenting on how nice my skin was that I realised it was actually working!! Would highly recommend this product to anyone and everyone

Kind to my skin!

The La Roche-Posay MELA B3 Niacinamide Serum is a good option for treating dark spots and uneven skin tone. The packaging is easy to use with a dropper that helps you get the right amount of product. The texture is a light gel-serum that absorbs quickly without feeling sticky. There’s no strong scent, which is great for sensitive skin. After using it regularly, I noticed my dark spots lightened a bit, though it took some time to see results. The 10% niacinamide also made my skin feel stronger and less red. While it might not work as quickly for very dark spots, it’s a gentle and effective serum for overall skin improvement. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for something that works gradually and is kind to your skin.

Effective and pleasure to use

I thoroughly enjoyed using the La Roche-Posay MELA B3 Niacinamide Serum. It had a gel-like consistency with a mild, inoffensive scent. The serum spread evenly on my skin and absorbed fairly quickly. Within the first two weeks of daily use, I noticed immediate results—my skin appeared visibly brighter, felt more hydrated, and areas of hyperpigmentation began to fade more noticeably. By the third week, my skin tone was more even, though further improvements plateaued. My skin remained hydrated, but stubborn areas of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation persisted. Despite this, the product was a pleasure to use. Unlike other thicker products in dripper bottles, which often leave a mess around the bottle's neck after a few uses, this serum's bottle featured a neat mechanism that kept the dripper clean throughout the product's life. Overall, I would recommend this serum to friends for intermittent use, alternating with other products.

Onto my second bottle

Love the consistency and texture of this serum. The smell is fresh, application is smooth and not sticky, leaves the skin hydrated. Have noticed brightening of my skin and slight fading of pigmentation I have. This product is gentle and has not given me any irritation as an active that I would usually find having sensitive skin, which I find La Roche-Porsay confidently always provides great products that I find do not cause irritation. Have recommended this to friends with dark spots and have heard similar responses to the use of this product!

Good one for pigmentation

I have a very sensitive skin and the pigmentation around mouth and some age spots are my main concern. I am always on a hunt of good anti pigmentation serums thats non irritating and i can use it regularly to see the results. This Mela b3 serum is right up my ally. I have been using for last 8 weeks. I can see my age spots are less visible and the pigmentation has improved. My skin tone looks more even and my skin looks more healthy and plump. This is not just another niacin-amide serum. I love the texture of the serum. It absorbs nicely into the skin without being sticky. Since its on pricier side i would recommend it to get it when its on sale. Worth checking out.

Amazing

I was really excited to test out La Roche-Posay MELA B3 Niacinamide Serum as I have several dark spots and post acne marks that have been bothering me so I've been hearing how great the benefits of of Niacinamide. I decided to use this serum morning and night before I apply moisturizer for the last 8 weeks and absolutely love the light weight texture and find it absorbs really well without being sticky or shiny. My skin is at times sensitive but has been reacting really well with this and have been noticing and improvement in my redness and irritation. I'm really blown away with how great my skin and dark spots have changed and my skin is feeling and looking so refreshed. Two to three drops is all that's needed so this bottle is the perfect value for such great benefits like I have experienced. I will definitely be recommending this La Roche-Posay MELA B3 Niacinamide Serum to all my friends as it's great value for a product that works well. Be sure to use a broad spectrum SPF daily to protect against UVA/UVB and dark spot prevention.

Good at reducing recent acne redness

I found this serum good for addressing some recent hyperpigmentation and dark spots. The formula worked effectively to reduce the appearance some fresh post-acne marks and scars I had. Its lightweight, gel texture was easy to apply, absorbed quickly, and felt nice and smooth on the skin. However, I noticed that while the serum performed well on new pigmentation, it wasn't as effective on older scars or redness from previous flare-ups. If you're dealing with fresh spots, this serum could be a great addition to your routine. But for more stubborn or long-standing pigmentation issues, you may need a more targeted treatment. Overall pretty happy with this serum, but I think for the price point there are more effective options out there.

Already on my second bottle!

I absolutely loved this serum! Finished the entire bottle and bought a brand new one instantly! Not only did it keep my skin feeling hydrated it also helped to fade my dark spots when I had the occasional hormonal spot. The serum is a little sticky when you first apply but it dries down fast and gives the skin a nice glow. There is also a slight medicinal kinda smell but this also goes away once it dries so it’s really not bothersome at all. It also works so well under make up - never made it pill or flake off. Overall fantastic product that I will continue to use in my skincare regimen!

Nicely formulated but standard niacinamide serum

I have some sunspots and post-inflammation hyperpigmentation. I also have dry and sensitive skin but I have used niacinamide serums previously. I have used many La Roche-Posay products in the past and love the Cicaplast Baume so I was looking forward to trying this product. I trialed the La Roche-Posay MELA B3 Niacinamide Serum for about two and half months with daily use at night. I found that it was easy to apply, sunk quickly into the skin and was moisturising without leaving a tacky residue. It feels luxurious to apply. It layered well with my other night time products - hyaluronic acid, retinol and an occlusive. My sunspots lightened a little but didn't completely fade, my post-inflammation hyperpigmentation lightened to a much grater degree. This is similar to other niacinamide product that it substituted in my routine The Ordinary. Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. The experience of using this serum was nicer that that of The Ordinary but at four times the price of the other product I would have liked to see a greater deal of fading dark spots.

Had high hopes

When I was lucky enough to be invited to trial this product I had extremely high hopes. Being freshly post partum I had just started to experience the beginnings of post partum hyperpigmentation also known as pregnancy face. I had noticed the beginnings of a few darker patches on my forehead and cheeks although I must add I have olive skin and already a scattering of freckles across my cheeks and nose. The bottle of this product was designed well, the stopper on the end of the bottle wiped excess product off back into the bottle. I like that there was little to no wastage because of this. The smell was subtle and nice and the texture was fast absorbing without being oily. I will say the overall hydrating effect was nice too. In regards to a difference in the appearance of any old blemish spots or pigmentation spots or freckles, sadly I noticed no difference after a good month of using this product every day. For the price point of $80 I can’t justify paying that kind of money for something that does not necessarily live up to its claims. I liked using the product and my skin always loves any niacinamide based serum so if you are looking for a niacinamide serum this would be ideal but as for a serum that will lighten or fade any spots I can’t vouch and say that this will work for you.

Nice light niacinamide serum

This is a really nice hydrating serum that helps improve the appearance of dark spots. I used it daily and found that a few of my lighter spots faded, though they didn’t disappear completely. The texture is nice and smooth, and it absorbs quickly. I’d definitely recommend for anyone who is looking to try niacinamide but isn’t sure what to start with - I found it very gentle with minimal irritation or breakouts. There is a light fragrance, but I didn’t find that it irritated me at all, and it faded quickly.

Great Serum, Bad Smell

I really like this Niacinamide serum from La Roche-Posay. It goes on smoothly, layers well with other skincare and makeup, and has a lovely gel texture.

I have some stubborn post-pregnancy pigmentation on my face as well as some dark spots, and I did find that they faded slightly while using this serum daily. However, I did trial this serum over winter when these spots tend to fade slightly anyway, and I don’t think the serum alone would be effective enough to remove the pigmentation completely. I'm still happy with the reduction in pigmentation though, as it is something I've been trying to target for a while. My skin can be sensitive to some products but like every other La Roche-Posay product I have ever tried, I had no reaction whatsoever and found the serum quite soothing on my skin.
It layers well with other products and I didn't notice any pilling that I have had with other Niacinamide serums in the past. I will say that the serum has a pretty unpleasant smell that I found a bit off-putting. It wasn’t bad enough to stop me from using the serum, but some days the “meaty” smell would linger and I can see how this could be a deal-breaker for some people. Overall, I think this serum has been a great addition to my routine and I will continue using it until the bottle runs out. For the high price point and the experience (read=smell), I'm not sure that I would repurchase any time soon, but its definitely one to try out for yourself.

Gentle on Sensitive Skin but Great Results

I have acne prone skin with lots of acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. My skin tends to be quite dry and sensitive so I try to slowly introduce new products into my skincare routine to avoid my skin reactions. I have used niancinamide serums in the past that were very thick/goopy and irritated my sensitive skin. However, this serum has a nice spreadable, lightweight consistency that blends nicely into my existing skincare routine. I found the serum to be gentle and didn't trigger my sensitive skin. After 2 weeks of using it, I noticed my overall skin tone looked more consistent and my dark spots around my chin area looked lighter. After using this niacinamide serum for the last 12 weeks, my skin looks noticeably more even, brighter and plump. I have also noticed my acne prone skin has had less break outs since using this serum.

Consistency is key

This is a lovely niacinamide serum with a light texture and pleasant scent. I have sensitive skin and redness and the serum didn’t irritate me at all. It is hydrating, absorbs quickly and sits well under other skincare, sunscreen and make up. Results are not immediate and the serum needs consistent use but after 2 months applying morning and night my dark spots have faded and my skin is clear and bright. It didn’t work quite as well as i hoped, the price point is higher than other niacinamide serums on the market and the dropper doesn’t seem to pick up much product, but overall it is a solid serum with a luxe feel and elegant packaging.

Great for specific skins

I can absolutely see the appeal of the serum and can imagine with long term use it would greatly benefit a lot of people. I have extremely fair skin and my pigmentation mostly sits at the very top of my cheeks right below my eyes and is caused by UV damage, it's light brown/reddish in colour and not very obvious unless you're really looking for it. My skin is sensitive and reactive and although it didn't have a negative reaction to this product it still felt quite active on my skin. It didn't have a big impact on my pigmentation but based on the ingredients I think it would be ideal for post-acne pigmentation or darker pigment in cases like melasma or age spots. I didn't particularly enjoy the texture of the serum, I wish it were a bit more silky. As for the scent, it's on the fruity/acidic/pharmaceutical side. I wouldn't reccomend it for skin like mine that struggles with more active products and lighter pigmentation/freckles. I would be really curious to see the difference under a woodslamp as I can imagine it works by breaking down pigmentation slowly rather than fading it from the surface. All in all, at this price point I think it's definitely worth a shot for those with concerns around darker pigmentation and thicker skin. The 3 star rating is simply because it wasn't ideal for my own needs.

Wish I could say I loved it

After testing this product for over 8 weeks in total without the use of my brightening vitamin c serum as suggested, I can say that this product was beautiful and a delight to apply, but unfortunately did not produce the results I was after. It definitely made my overall complexion clearer and brighter looking, but did not fade areas of hyperpigmentation that I have. This is perhaps asking a little too much of a product, however given this is one of the main claims of the serum, I was a little disappointed that I didn't get those results. I adore La Roche Posay products more generally but am sad to say this didn’t entirely hit the mark for me.

It cleared up my skin!

I absolutely love this serum! I have used it every night for the last few months and drastically noticed differences in my skin. I came off my contraception and got pigmentation and spots on my face. This product has really helped. My face looks alot clearer. A little goes a long way so its great bang for your buck considering how long it lasts! It absorbs quickly, helping with layering other serums and always leaves my skin looking and feeling plump. I have serums in all different packaging and find a dropper like this, is the easiest and most hygenic to use. I truly love this product and will be restocking it when I run short.

La Roche-Posay does it again!

I'm a huge fan of La Roche-Posay, so to hear they've released a Niacinamide Serum is super exciting. I tested this serum mixed in with my moisturiser ahead of a summer vacay to south east Asia as I usually get sun dark spots after long periods of being in the sun. While it did help my skin, a few sun spots still developed though I would suggest using this in your everyday routine to maximise its benefits vs starting the product a few days before going on holidays like I did! I love the lightweight formula and it compliments greatly with all the other La Roche-Posay product including hyaluronic acid serum, moisturiser with sunscreen on top. Even with daily exposure to the sun, my skin remained smooth and bright. Very excited to adopt this into my daily skin routine!

Smells Great

I was fortunate to get on the trial team for the La Roche-Posay MELA B3 Niacinamide Serum, and really liked trialling this product. The serum has an easy to use dropper, it applies well, it smells great, and it absorbs into your skin almost instantly. I rated the product 2/5 stars as unfortunately I didn't notice any difference in the appearance of dark spots on my skin, despite using it consistently for a few months. As such, in summary I would recommend this product to someone who is after a moisturising serum, however not if they were trying to correct dark spots on their skin.
