La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Serum

I quite like this serum because it's very hydrating. It is white in colour and has a very light scent. I find the pipette to be a bit too thick and at times it struggles to pick up the thick juicy serum. The serum bottle comes with a lid which you take off and attach the pipette lid. I would prefer if the pipette came on the bottle. I find the 2 lids to be a waste. I like to use this serum as my day time serum as I find it soothing and calming. It's a great winter serum. My skin type is combination and this is well suited to my skin and keeps me hydrated all day. Also if I ever get any dry areas on my face from using retinol this is the perfection skin saviour.

This serum comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a dropper, that in my opinion could have been improved if it wasn't so wide. I found it troublesome to get a measurable amount of serum & often ended up with product on the lip of the bottle when trying to put the dropper back in. The thick white serum has a slight medicated/chemical scent that fades quickly after application. It glides on and absorbs within seconds to leave my face feeling and looking smoother & more even toned, with a non-sticky finish. It came with very limited instructions, so it was a bit of trial & error to see how best to layer it. I personally found it worked better by itself, as it occasionally resulted in piling when paired with some of my other skincare products. I found it worked well as a primer under my foundation though. It delivered on its promise to sooth red, irritated skin, but for me, it wasn't hydrating enough on its own to stop the dry flaking skin building up by the end of the day. Overall, it is a nice serum for those who have reactive/sensitive skin, but personally I didn't see enough positive, lasting results to justify the higher price tag which is why I subtracted a star.

I have been using the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Serum as part of my skincare routine for the last few months morning and night after cleansing my skin. Using the pipette that comes with the serum separately then doubles as the lid I draw up enough to disperse 1-2 drops and gently massage it into my skin. The serum is cloudy white in colour, there is a mild scent and it is lightweight in consistency it absorbs beautifully (it isn’t sticky) and quickly leaving my skin feel soft and hydrated. I only had to wait 30 seconds or so before following with my day or night moisturiser. My skin feels so much softer, it feels and is visibly much more hydrated and moisturised then it was before using this serum. I am eager to see after prolonged use if it will provide any any further results for my skin.

Even though the texture of the serum is thick it's very light on the skin. It doesn't feel heavy or greasy at all. It's cooling and comfortable and is very easily absorbed by my skin. It blends like a dream. I did notice that it has a smell even though it says it's fragrance free. The smell is very light though and it didn't cause any irritation to my skin. After about a week of using this serum I noticed how much softer my skin had become and noticed how effective it is at moisturising my skin and then after 2 more weeks I noticed my skin doesn't look dull anymore and looks extra youthful and smooth. I haven't had any breakouts since I started using this serum too which is amazing for me because I normally do have a few around my chin and jaw. I think this serum is fantastic because I was able to achieve some noticeable improvements to my skin in a short period of time.

Like most people after winter my skin was in need of some tlc. In and out of heating my skin had been dry and in some spots flaky. After cleansing my skin morning and evening I then applied a couple of drops of the serum using the dropper provided to the palms of my hands and gentle pressed it into my skin. The serum is white in colour and lightweight, my skin soaked it right up and my skin didn’t feel tacky afterwards. My skin felt as if it was instantly comforted and hydrated and as each day passes I have noticed less flakes, a more smooth and softer appearance and well moisturised skin. I would recommend this for all skin types as I believe everyone could benefit from a serum like this.

Thank you to beautyheaven for the opportunity to trial this. Love La-Roche Posay serums. Packaging is always very sturdy and well made. The bottle is white, I would prefer a transparent bottle. The dropper is made of glass and because the serum is not runny, I find that it doesn’t pick up alot of product and is slightly messy. Still manage to get the product out though which is fine. The serum itself is white and not runny. It doesn’t really smell like anything to me which is ok. It spreads on the skin very easily and absorbs quickly. Instantly hydrating and after a week or two of use, the skin definetly looks more hydrated and plump. It didn’t break me out either which was a bonus. Overall quite happy with it and would repurchase
