No white cast or bad smell
My go to for facial sunscreen, does not feel sticky and leave a white cast or bad smell. This is a great sunscreen and the only one I'd ever use to put on my face. Goes on well after applying moisturizer and sits well under foundation and does not effect my makeup. Lasts for hours but I do end up reapplying throughout the day.
Great for sensitive eyes as well. It can be pricey if using the recommended sunscreen amount.
Sunscreen is a MUST have if you care about your skin and skin's health if living in Australia!
Lightweight and protects well.
Surprised . Very lightweight sunscreen. Not a fan of SPF, never was. And just started wearing it couple of years ago when I got bad case of melasma (pigmentation on the face that is blotchy and does not go away). Did not know of bad effects that sun can have on my skin as I never ever burned!
So now I wear spf no matter what. Love this one as it is not greasy and does not clog my oily to combo skin with huge pores. As it is chemical filter based sunscreen, obviously does not have white cast. Does protect my skin well. As have noticed that even on sunniest days my melasma does not go worse. With regular SPF use since being diagnosed, pigmentation got so much better, that only I notice and know that I do have melasma (as this condition is apparently permanent for life. Just can be kept under control, as I am with SPF).
3rd ingredient is denatured alcohol, so this SPF is not my regular one. I switch between 2. Other being physical and no denatured alcohol.
La Roche-Posay is another one of those French pharmacy brands that i just can't get enough of....why ? because they really do work.
The Anthelios line has a bit of a cult following, and when you try it you too will be hooked. After all, when an SPF of 50+ comes along that provides the best protection, but also has a lighter texture than most other sunscreens (to me,that is what makes a sunscreen, which is a non- negotiable, actually something you WANT to wear) ,and it feels like it is caring for your skin (rather than just sitting on your face, providing UV protection) it makes for a truly "must have" summer essential.
This XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ is quite fluid in texture (but moisturising in feel),doesn't leave a white,"Casper" residue to deal with, and is sans scent (save for a slight fresh," cannot put my finger on it" fragrance for want of a better description),it plays fairly well under makeup (i don't wear foundation much at all,and never in summer....unless it is truly called for,so i don't know how this would go with that over the top) AND it could just be the perfect answer for those with an oilier visage (not an issue i have, but i do look for more matte formulas in summer). But does it truly stand up to an Aussie summer sun ? Well, after a day's venture out to the coast (which included driving there, walking the streets, exploring outdoor markets,swimming....after which i do re-apply of course,AND sweating),this baby lasted the distance right up until the swim...a full 4 hours of 35+ degree heat, without so much as a red tinge to my skin.
Finally, the super portable 50ml bottle (which is priced at around $30),is perfect to throw in your bag to ensure you re-apply this as often as you should.
This is not just about beauty...it is a potential life saver in every sense of the word.
TIP:Apply 20 minutes or so prior to sum exposure to ensure the best possible protection for your skin.
My relationship with sunscreen hasn't been that great thanks to so many bad experiences.. It's similar to the goldilocks and the three bears type of situation, I could never find sunscreen that was "just right". You know, one that would protect my skin but not at the cost of clogging my pores, burning my eyes and making my face oily. I had to suffer through so many different variations of sunscreen and they really made me believe that I would never find a perfect formula. I felt as though this was how sunscreen was supposed to be and it wasn't possible to have one that was lightweight and easy to wear on its own or underneath makeup. The closest I have gotten to finding the perfect sunscreen would be the La Roche Posay ultra light fluid. It was unlike any other sunscreen I had used before. It was really lightweight, liquidy and easy to rub into my skin without making my face appear white and oily. It absorbed really well and didn't just sit on top of my skin so I could easily apply makeup on top without my foundation gliding off. Nevertheless, I was still worried about possible breakouts and congestion but it never gave my skin any issues. I would say that the sunscreen is hydrating but it's not too heavy or rich which is why it was great for my skin. For an SPF 50+ sunscreen this is great and I would recommend it for all skin types. I like to use it all year round to protect my skin from UV damage, pigmentation and most importantly skin cancer and because it's perfect for my oily skin I no longer dread wearing sunscreen.
When I was hit with chronic, cystic adult acne (fun!) a few years ago, I had to be extremely careful in the sun due to the treatment I was on at the time. I was recommended this sunscreen by treating dermatologist, and while I was put off initially by the price, the benefits quickly outweighed my initial stinginess. I was impressed not only by the lightness of the formula and how nicely it sat on my skin, but also just how long a bottle lasts. This sunscreen has never failed me and I always feel safe in the sun knowing la Roche has my back (and face).
I am so picky when it comes to sunscreen so to find one that I like is HUGE! Add to that a large family with young children as well as a husband who plays golf, finding one I like and one that every member of the family can use is a monumental feat. Naturally La Roche Posay is up to the task. It is a rare thing to find one range that has just about everything you need, but LRP just gets it right. With a great SPF factor, mild formulation and excellent packaging, this sunscreen is a slam dunk. I’m super impressed that I can use it on my face AND body without that horrible greasy sunscreen feel that puts me off so many other brands. And the whole family, from youngest to oldest, is well covered with this sunscreen. Nothing but praises for me - La Roche Posay does no wrong!
Love this! Tried the other sunscreens from La Roche, by far my favourite. Very light on the skin, doesn't have that greasy feel to the touch. I like using it as a base under my foundation. Doesn't make the foundation move. Also love it for the light consistency as I don't feel like I'm pulling at my face trying to evenly spread the sunscreen on.
Best face sunscreen I have ever tried!
Many of the less oily sunscreens started giving me facial dermatitis (I don't have sensitive skin at all) and I had to buy a few before I found one that doesn't cause me to break out or get a rash when I use it daily.
Pros:
Sits well under foundation
No oily shine or white cast
Non irritative
A little goes a long way
Cons
$$
If you use too much it will flake
Unsure if waterproof
Looking after our skin is a must in this household as we have had to deal with serious Melanomas that would have been life changing had we not dealt with them.
It was last year that I came across the brand of La-Roche-Posay and seeing that it was for sensitive skin plus 50+ it certainly caught my attention. Sunscreen is very important to both my husband myself these days
I liked this one as it was also a fluid which was very lightweight and non greasy on the skin. Just be aware that due to the thin consistency of the fluid, not to pour out too much for area. A little goes a long way. It absorbs into the skin really well and you are not left with any white sticky cream either. It gives you a beautiful invisible finish.
Some sunscreens leave you with a horrible fragrance but this sunscreen is fragrance and paraben free.
It has UVA/UVB protection which is a must with our climate.
I have normal to dry skin as does my husband so using this together before we go out in the sun is a must. We use it both on the body and our face. No reactions and save for very sensitive skin.
I would highly recommend this sunscreen for anybody.
I love how light this is on my oily combination skin type. I don't need a lot as it is quite fluid in consistency and so it's easy to spread around my face too. The results are that I never get burnt and I can use this confidently for sun protection during the daytime if I'm applying a Retinol product at night-time which sometimes I do tend to do. When I need to use a higher SPF this product does the job for me as it is an SPF50. Sometimes, even if I don't apply this all over my face, it's still great to apply a little over my nose, cheeks and around my eyes where I'm most concerned regarding sun damage.
My best tip regarding this excellent sun protection product is that it can be mixed easily with other creams/foundations because it is so fluid and light. It may reduce the SPF down to a SPF30 by doing this but that is still a good amount of SPF in my view. This fluid does work well underneath make-up but I prefer to mix it in with my foundation.
There is no fragrance and any skin type could use this. It's a simple and effective sunscreen that can be easily spread all the way down my neck too without any heaviness or greasiness.
The bottle is a hard plastic so it doesn't get squished in my bag if I take it with me anywhere and the handy little lid is watertight so there's no spills. It needs a shake before each application to help mix the ingredients properly. The only problem with this product is that it does run out and needs to be re-purchased!
La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ is a non-comedogenic product and is suitable for even the most sensitive of skin because is made without fragrance and parabens.
I have sensitive skin which is prone to constant cystic acne. I was prescribed a cream which means I must avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or take extra precaution. On recommendation from the pharmacist, I purchased La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+.
I love the lightweight texture as I can still apply foundation and/or other makeup with it. I find it absorbs quite quickly without leaving a sticky residue, but rather leaving a soft mattifying finish. The non-greasy formula keeps my face looking and feeling fresh all day. I haven't noticed any irritation or increase in my acne since using it. (if anything my skin improved)
The high SPF rating manages to give brilliant sun protection, in my case a necessity.
From packing to performance La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Ultra-Light stands out to be a clear winner. This product ladies it is worth every dollar. I would happily recommend it for all ages and skin types.
I have the whitest skin around town. My mum was well ahead of the sunscreen trend, but my gosh was that UNCOOL as a kid. Now, La Roche Posay is making it cool! No more smelling of sunscreen in the school yard. No more sweating it off in the summer sun. This glides on like an duck landing on water, but is easy to get off at the end of the day too. I would 100% recommend for all things life: running at lunchtime, swimming at the beach and just being you on the weekend!
I purchased a bottle of La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light SPF50+ because I had read so many positive reviews on the product and because La Roche-Posay is a brand I trust when it comes to skincare.
There are a number of factors I look for when choosing a sunscreen – SPF 50+, non-greasy, clear once applied, lightweight consistency, fast absorbing and suitable for sensitive skin (so hubby can use it).
The sunscreen is packaged in a small, white plastic bottle with a screw-top lid which covers a little nozzle which dispenses the sunscreen. The bottle contains 50ml of product. The bottle needs to be shaken well before applying the sunscreen.
The first thing I noticed and immediately liked about this sunscreen is that it is a fluid rather than a cream.so it glides easily over the skin and blends effortlessly, leaving an invisible film. No stickiness, no greasy feeling, no clogged pores – just comfortable feeling skin.
I have fair skin which burns easily so using an effective high protection sunscreen is very important to me. My skin is normal to dry so I also wear a moisturiser underneath this sunscreen, and some days this is all I need. However, on other days I also apply a BB cream and I have had no trouble in applying it over the sunscreen. Just a little tip – wait a few minutes to make sure the sunscreen is completely dry and settled before applying any makeup.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra Light SPF50+ has my tick of approval and is a product I can highly recommend.
This is really not worth the money or hype. It's quite expensive for the size of the bottle and does not last very long. My boyfriend and I took it on holidays and it was gone before we came home. I've used better sunscreens and would not buy this again.
Sunscreen isn't my favourite product to use but I know it's the most important product which is why I wanted to find one that would work well for my skin. The issue I have is that most tend to be very thick, heavy and super oily which not only clogs my pores but leaves my skin feeling greasy and makes me breakout. I have worn them for the sake of sun protection but now I don't wear them anymore after coming across LRP's ultra-light fluid. What's great about it is that it's not thick or super creamy, in fact it's incredibly lightweight because it's a liquid. It has SPF 50+ along with UVA and UVB protection so I know my skin is protected when I wear this. I just spread it onto my face and neck and it absorbs so easily without leaving any residue behind. It's also great to wear underneath makeup and there is no white caste. It also doesn't irritate my eyes or cause them to burn or sting, another problem I have with other SPF based products! My only wish is that it came in a bigger bottle as I would've loved to have used this on my body as well for days at the beach.
This is currently the only sunscreen I keep on me. I discovered it about 2 years ago and since then I've never looked back. I'm Irish and naturally burn very easily. I've gone through so many sunscreens, and the only thing that keeps me coming back to this one is how light it is! I never feel like I've got this thick cakey sunscreen on. It feels just like a moisturiser going on and absorbs into the skin so quickly. It also does't leave any form of cast on the skin, even if you get it wet. It's also gentle enough that I can use it on my little ones skin and she loves it too because it doesn't leave her skin feeling yuk so she's happy to put it on! Which always makes life easier. I can also say that it is really long lasting and definitely offers the 50 SPF it claims. I've never ever gotten burnt while wearing this sunscreen and have convered most of my family members towards using this sunscreen as well now!
This is my favourite sunscreen especially during the warmer months because it has a very lightweight texture that doesn't feel thick on skin no matter how many layers I applied. It dries down to a non greasy finish and doesn't leave a white cast on my face like most sunscreens in the market. The sunscreen doesn't cause any redness to my skin and doesn't interfere with my foundation. Can't ask for more!
With my thirties fast approaching, I recently decided that I NEED to incorporate a daily SPF into my skincare routine. (Yes, I should've started way earlier but better late than never, right!?)
After a thorough googling sesh, I landed on this one from La Roche-Posay. Happy to report that I've been using this religiously for the last few weeks and am loving it! All you really need to know is that it's ultra-lightweight, easily absorbed and sits beautifully under makeup. Practically invisible, and no typically greasy sunscreen feeling which I love. Most importantly though, it's formulated with SPF 50+, so I know it's doing its thing to protect my skin from sun damage and premature ageing. I just wish I'd gotten onto this baby sooner!
I recently bought this sunscreen as it was on sale at Chemist Warehouse, I've had my eye on it, but was hesitant about the price for such a small bottle. However, after finally trying this, I cans ee what the hype is all about. and will be recommending this to all my friends and family!
This is a beautiful 50 SPF sunscreen, I normally stay clear of anything 50SPF as it can be thick and greasy to wear on the skin. However this light weight "serum" like consistency is nothing like sunscreens you normally get. It sits and spreads nicely on your face, leaving no white cast, and leaves your face feeling hydrated and glowy. it feels so smooth on my skin upon application and also sits beautifully under my make up. I am blown away!
This sunscreen is so true to its name and branding and that's why I love the la Roche posey products, they don't hide anything that they have in their products.
I tried this product originally as i was so sick of trying to find a sunscreen that was 50+ but was light weight enough to wear everyday.
After trying this amazing product I fell in love with how ultra light weight it really was , I wasn't left with stick residue and didn't feel like I was wearing heaps of layers.
The sunscreen smells a lot nicer than some on the market.
I have started to use this daily under my foundation and haven't looked back.
Pros: amazingly light weight , great smell, 50+ and priced great
Cons: I honestly don't have a con for this product as I feel it lived up to every expectation I had for this product.
Overall if you are looking for a great branded sunscreen , well priced and don't like the heavyness of normal sunscreen then look no further ! P.s also try out their over products their amazing
