A cute spray for pre-teens
I quite like a body spray, although I prefer them in liquid form rather than aerosol, so I was excited to try this product!
In terms of size, it’s compact and the packaging is sleek, making it the perfect spray to keep in your handbag to refresh during the day.
The scent, initially, is overpoweringly alcohol and dries down to a spice-infused vanilla that isn’t overtly sweet. While I don’t like to judge products based on their price, this smells exactly what you would imagine a cheap supermarket body spray to smell like- artificial, common and not altogether appealing. This particular scent feels like it could be of any low-priced brand and doesn’t last a particularly long time on the skin, either.
This might be appropriate for pre-teens who aren’t fussy about scents and just want a spray to freshen up during the day, but I wouldn’t personally wear it.
Perfect to keep in your bag
I haven’t used an aerosol deodorant in a long time but loved giving this a try again. Using impulse spray reminded me of being back in high school as I would use it all the time.
I love the design on the spray bottle it’s very pretty. It’s the perfect size to store in your bag or purse for touch ups on a hot/busy day and that’s what I used this for and it worked really well.
It’s a nice fresh smell but I didn’t love the scent, it smells like a fruity floral scent. I’m keen to try the other scents available and find one I love as this was perfect to store in my bag and kept me smelling nice throughout the day. I love the twist lid so I didn’t have to worry about it coming out in my bag or losing the lid. Such a great little deodorant. I definitely recommend it.
Decent product but not for me
This was a decent product.
It was easy to apply and the small size of the product made it easy to carry around. I used to love these impulse sprays back in my high school days but I have to admit I wasn't the biggest fan of this scent (I'm personally a subtle fragrance girl). This spray didn't smell bad and did a good job in covering my body odour after a good workout but felt a bit overpowering even with just a bit of spray.
It lasted for a couple hours which is pretty good and standard for other body sprays/perfumes that I've tried. The only thing is that it did feel a bit chemical-ly, and a bit cheap, though that's totally fair given the low price of the product.
Overall, if you like the scent, then I'd highly recommend it to use. You can even use it as just a perfume rather than a deodorant. But I personally wouldn't get this product.
Warm musk scent
I am not a big user of body sprays, in fact I don’t think I have ever used one before, seeing them as a cross between a deodorant and a perfume, and preferring to wear both of those instead. Even so I was happy to give Impulse a try, when Beauty Crew kindly sent one to sample. The slim can was very compact and would be easy to slip into a handbag. I liked the easy twist-top closure to prevent spraying by accident.
While first impression on spraying was alcohol, the scent that comes out is a warm musky vanilla, not overpowering or overly sweet or spicy. It was a pleasant scent to wear in place of a fragrance and made for a nice, uplifting start to the day.
Unfortunately, a few hours later I noticed that the fragrance had completely disappeared, and I was wearing no scent at all. This didn’t surprise me, as I knew that a body spray is meant to be reapplied during the day, but it did remind me why I never usually wear body sprays. I really don’t want to be carrying around sprays in an already fairly cluttered handbag, although it is probably something you could easily leave in a desk drawer at work.
I think Impulse Desert Sunset is a scent I could recommend for someone who enjoys wearing body sprays, as it is a nice fresh scent, but it’s not something I would purchase ongoing for myself.
Affordable body spray
Fun little spray. Pretty and small compact packaging with a good lock nozzle. Scent fruity floral. Delicate and not overpowering. Good as a day refresher. My problem with it is that upon dispensing the Impulse Luxe gold sunset , I feel the "bug spray" note for first half an hour. That scent when spraying scented dry shampoos too. Do not know what it is, but all smell like bug spray for a while. That put me off from using this spray. If there was not that, spray would be quite fun to use. As the notes (other than that base) are quite nice.
Not for me
I haven't used impulse sprays since my high school days and the slim aerosol can sure brought back memories. It is very lightweight, something you can easily chuck in your bag and apply whenever you want. The aerosol can has a twist top to open and close and it's very easy to use.
Firstly, fragrance is a personal thing. This product is meant to smell like peaches and flower petals, which didn't sound like something I would normally dislike. However, I found it rather overpowering and smells kind of cheap, so I only used it sparingly for my underarms.
I don't mind it once it fades after an hour or so, it keeps my armpits smelling pleasant for the day. It's not an anti-perspirant but there is quite a bit of alcohol in the formula, and that may stop bacteria from breeding. I would have loved to take it to the gym with me if I had liked the scent better.
Overall it's not something I look forward to using, unfortunately.
Did not work well with my skin chemistry.
Thank you to Beauty Crew and to Impulse for allowing me to trial the Impulse Luxe Golden Sunset body spray. I am a fragrance tragic, and am very eclectic in the scents that I enjoy. I also don’t crave any particular strength of scent and have loved some body sprays as much as some eau de parfum. So I was really looking forward to trying this product.
The freshener comes in a clever 75 ml, light-weight, aluminium spray bottle. It has a twist lid which, when closed, stops accidental sprays of the product and maintains the strength of the fragrance. The size of the can is handy if you wish to carry it in your purse, although bigger cans contain more product and are more long-lasting. The black and gold design of the can is attractive and suggestive of a high class product.
The instructions are clear. Hold can 15 cm from body and spray “anywhere, any time” – except not on face, in eyes or for intimate use. I sprayed it inside my arms and on my neck.
I found the spray had a brief cooling effect, which was great in this hot weather. The scent seemed to vary according to its mood – sometimes a generic talc smell, sometimes a bit more fruity. Either way, it was very light and gone in about ten minutes. I tried this at all times of the day, and on cooler days too. The result was the same. On my skin, this just didn’t work. It was very disappointing.
I wouldn’t repurchase this for myself, but the fragrance would probably work differently on different skin chemistry, so I would recommend other people could give it a go. The cost is minimal and it may work well for you.
Great, fresh body spray
The Impulse Luxe Body Spray Golden Sunset is a great body spray, and I was pleasantly surprised. To be honest, I didn’t know Impulse was still around, it’s giving me huge high school PDHPE locker room /hall vibes, as we were obsessed with impulse back then. I trialled this product and loved the way it smelt. It now has a permanent place in my gym bag for whenever I need a quick freshen up. It gives me vanilla scent vibes and smells fresh. I also really like the twist lock cap and the small can it comes in -convenient to carry around everywhere. This is a great product to carry around in summer for a quick freshen and pick me up - I recommend this product.
Nice smell
I like the smell of this body spray that is very pleasant. It is a quite faminine, fruity and floral scent. I also feel the spray is long-lasting, even in hotter days that I do not really need to reapply often. The bottle is hygienic and convenient to use. What you need to do is to twist the cap first to reveal the spout, then press down the top of the bottle to spray. That is a good design for on-the-go / in my bag, so I don't need to worry about leaking or spilling. It is a nice-looking recyclable bottle. I will continue using it in future.
