Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Foam Cleanser/Purifying Mask

I received this in one of their gwp promos and finally got around to using it. I love the scent it smells a little like perfume and just luxe. You only need a tiny amount and it foams up easily. I have dry skin so i find it a little too drying but its great during the summer heat when i feel gross. I haven’t tried it as a mask but this would be great as a spot treatment/mini mask to really clean those sore pimples. I probably won’t purchase this but i will definitely use it again if i get another gwp.

I bought this cleanser while I was repurchasing an Estee Lauder toner I liked and thought they could complement each other. Although this is listed for normal to combination skin, I focussed on the "normal" part of this which was probably a mistake. The cleanser does work up to a very creamy lather using only a small amount, so it is definitely a value product and will last for ages. Unfortunately while it was cleansing, I didn't really find it at all gentle. It made my skin squeaky clean after - always a bad sign for someone with dry skin. Over the first week or so I noticed my skin feeling quite dry and tight and in need of moisturising more often. I finally isolated the dryness to this cleanser and regretfully (as I had bought two tubes!) passed it to my sons who are often the recipients of unsuitable (for me) products, which are often completely suitable for them.  I do feel that this product is better for those with a tendency to oiliness who need to control build-up of oil and impurities. It may not be suitable for someone with normal skin with any sort of tendency to dryness. Although I have dry skin, it is not super dry, so I was surprised at the effect on my skin after using this. I notice that Estee Lauder has a cleanser for dry skin, and instead I would look at this for any future purchase.

I am a huge fan of foaming cleansers but unfortunately this was not one of them.  I do want a cleanser that will leave my face feeling clean but this made my skin too clean, as in it felt squeaky clean to the point where my skin felt so tight and dry.  The product is both a cleanser and a mask and when I used it for each purpose it was just too harsh.  As I suffer from oily/acne prone skin if the product is too drying I find that it ends up making my skin even more oily because my skin has to produce more oil to make up for the super dry skin that I'm left with.  With regards to removing makeup it was alright but it also stung my eyes which was another downside.  Overall it's not a cleanser I would use again.

This is a wonderful makeup remover! Just lather it on to your make up (leave your face dry), massage it in, then wipe it off. Very easy to use. I personally like to use another cleanser after I use this to remove my makeup. I find that it does a good job of taking away my makeup, but it doesn't really leave my face feeling fresh and clean like a cleanser should. Despite this, I will continue to use this product to remove my makeup.
