Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules Line Erasing Night Serum

These capsules are great! One use goes a long way leaving my skin so smooth and supple. They are easy to twist open and the serum comes out ready to glide over my face in all areas of ageing e.g.: around eyes, forehead and mouth lines. I even use on my décolletage which it is easily absorbed into. Having minor sensitive skin, I did not find the retinol too harsh but I always remembered to use sunscreen during the day to protect my skin further. Having used for about 10 weeks now, I can definitely feel my skin tone and textured has improved and it makes moisturising and make-up application easier.

This is the 'retinol' variant of Elizabeth Arden's ceramide capsules. They also make a vitamin C and brightening variants. It is sold in either in 30, or 60 or 90 piece bottles. Each single-dose capsule twist open to reveal a silky, luxurious serum, and ensures the freshness of the active ingredients. This is a good thing, since retinol is notoriously unstable once the packaging is opened. Each capsule 'skin' is bio-degradable. The silky serum contains ceramides, plant extracts and oils, peptides and retinol. However, retinol is listed as the third last ingredient so the percentage is likely to be very low. It is understandable if they are trying to ensure minimum irritation which retinol is known to cause in some people. It doesn't contain fragrance, which is a plus. However, those who do not want silicones in their skincare will have to avoid this, as dimethicone is the second ingredient, and the texture confirms that. As someone who already uses medium to high strength over the counter retinoids, this product doesn't really change the appearance of my skin, and it's definitely not 'line-erasing' as marketed. However, it does leave skin moisturised and comfortable without any stickiness and greasiness. It has a really silky, smooth texture which is very enjoyable to apply. I do find this useful for alternating between my strong retinoid nights and 'off' nights. It's also handy for travelling, as you can just pack a few of these in your skincare bag for the journey.

These Retinol Ceramide Capsules have a concentrated yet gentle dose of retinol and other nourishing ingredients. I have used Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules for a very long time and this version is a great addition to the original Capsules. Each capsule contains just the right amount of the serum so you know you're applying the ideal amount of product every night. The texture is very lightweight and silky and absorbs well into the skin leaving it feeling smoother instantly. The capsules do contain plant oils so they can initially feel greasy but I find this texture suits my dry, dehydrated cheeks well. I have noticed my skin looks even and smoother since using these capsules most nights of the week and I have been using this product for close to two years now. The overall tone and texture of my skin has improved and my moisturiser and makeup glide on easier. It's a little pricey but given that it's a concentrated serum with high quality potent ingredients, I will continue to repurchase this product.

Single dose biodegradable plant cellulose based capsules are very easy to use. Twist, pop open, squeeze it all out and smear all over face, neck, chest. There is plenty of serum in one dose. Serum is silky, gel/silicony like. Because of its formulation (based on encapsulated retinol and silicone/oil base, boosted with ceramides and peptides) it has a good slip and feels as if I applied lightweight moisturizer on, not just serum. I used it on its own overnight. Skin is soft, plump and hydrated. No fragrance. No irritants. My skin is oily in summer and this serum is lightweight and did not cause clogging of my pores (that are huge). Noticed that skin is smoother and so healthy. Interesting that boosted hydration as well. Retinol is in small dose, so very gentle for those who are just starting with VitA in their skincare routine. EA does not disclose %. One star down only as it is pricey. I really like these capsules, which are not irritating at all and very effective. These retinol capsules have got to be one of the most luxurious things on the beauty market. I use this serum after cleansing and applying a moisturising essence, just to provide a bit of a buffer. As this serum is very heavy on silicones, I don't actually apply any moisturiser after using this serum. After using this, my skin feels amazing. As someone with acne-prone skin, I was initially hesitant to try this due to the silicone. But it does not break me out and actually works absolute wonders for my acne. Retinol is also an acne-fighting ingredient and is great for anti-ageing. I find the next day, my pimples are significantly reduced. I highly recommend this and will continue purchasing, even though it's not cheap!

This product is very luxurious, each little pod in a capsule that maintains its purity, so when you squeeze these little capsules and apply it on your face it feels so luxurious. I have been applying it every night for a month now, I can see the pigmentation and lines on my face are definitely becoming lighter, my skin feels very smooth and moisturised after I apply this product, it says we need moisturiser on top of it, but I never feel the need to. The product has not got any scent and is very pleasant to use. I would definitely recommend this for someone who wants to use this as an anti ageing treatment.

I can’t rave enough about this little serum pods! I love the packaging and the serum feels amazing on my skin. The pods are super convenient and easy to open. This is a new staple in my skincare regime!

Overall, I have been beyond pleasantly surprised with how well it's been working on fading fine lines/fading my pigmentation (leftover from acne) and providing moisture to me, which is greatly needed at this time. The only prohibitive to me is the price. But, I have to say it seems worth it. My skin is glowing. I had no break outs using it and my skin is looking extra youthful. I have even had compliments since using this product. Also, I really like hearing that these capsules are biodegradable as I was concerned about the extra packaging. I have been double cleansing (makeup remover and then face wash), followed by a wait time in between each step and then thirdly, I have been applying the capsules. This is done by warming it up in my hand and doing the "face yoga" that was described by the EA representative. I am actually super excited to see how good my skin looks after the full additional month because after 1 month I am floored with how visible the results are.

The presentation of the product was very elegant, however I found the plastic jar a bit tacky. It was not what I was expecting for Elizabeth Arden. However, the little capsules are ingenious. What a great way to ensure you have the right amount of product each time! Just a couple of twists and the capsule opens. A good squeeze and this magnificent serum comes out onto my fingertips for easy application onto my face and neck. It’s pure silk on the skin, and makes for a beautiful skin routine. This product is an absolute pleasure to use and feel, with even better results not only for the duration of the trial but beyond. I really noticed the difference in the texture of my skin when using it (and also when I stopped). Will purchase again!

The Retinol Ceramide Capsules Line Erasing Night Serum is my favourite of all the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide capsules. I’ve tried them all and although I like all of the Ceramide capsules the Retinol capsules work best for me. These single-use capsules twist open to reveal the serum. The silky smooth serum spreads easily over my skin and absorbs quickly leaving my skin feeling well hydrated and looking like velvet. I’m used to using products that contain Retinol and I’ve never had any adverse reaction to Retinol, as is the case with these capsules. Like most products, it takes time to see improvements in the skin but over time I have seen the appearance of my fine lines minimized and my skin texture, tone and clarity improved. I don’t know whether this was solely because of the Retinol capsules or in conjunction with similar products I’ve been using. Light as a feather, but heavy on effectiveness, these capsules are perfect for travelling especially on long trips where I don’t want to cart around heavy jars and bottles. I’d recommend picking up a sample of the Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Line Erasing Night Serum Capsules to see how your skin reacts to them before purchasing a pack because they are expensive.

This serum is packaged in single-dose bio-degradable capsules which ensures that the ingredients remain fresh right until usage. The serum itself contains ceramides, plant extracts and oils, peptides and retinol. The percentage of retinol is unknown, but it is listed as the third last ingredient in the ingredients list. The texture is very silky and just glides on your skin. There is no detectable scent and I did not experience any irritation . The silky texture may be due to dimethicone which i don't mind, but may matter to those who object to silicones. I did not see anything as dramatic as 'line-erasing', but I've already been using other products with peptides and retinol derivatives. I do however find it to be an elegant product and pleasant to use.

I had been sceptical about these funny little capsules, but have been pleasantly surprised by them! Once you twist the top off, the silky serum inside is a lovely texture and the amount per capsule is perfectly proportioned to cover the face and neck. The texture isn't one that 'soaks in' to skin, but feels like it sits on the top like a primer. But in the morning, my skin felt even in texture and I really do think I've noticed the difference to texture and fine lines over the month I've used it. I'm intrigued by the packaging, but I found it a bonus; I like the idea that each capsule has not been exposed to air or fingers like a jar of cream would, or doesn't flow out like some droppers.

Packed in sweet little rose gold caps, this night serum is really a treat for aging skin. When you pierce the cap, cloudy looking oily fluid comes out that feels so smooth and silky. As soon as you apply it, it kind of feels like a blurring layer on your skin - your pores and lines seem to disappear instantly - almost like a primer. It is probably this primer like effect that has put me off this product. Every lady that I know who has used this, loves it. I love the day time caps but these night ones just aren't for me. It's not that this product isn't effective - In fact, it's probably more potent than day time caps but I just don't like the feel when I apply it - it feels like an oily film on the skin. Wish I could get past that barrier in my mind and enjoy the put potential of this product that a lot of ladies have been raving about.

I used this product properly over the course of a few weeks to see how my skin reacted to it. The application is very easy to use. I found this serum was very light to use, and not heavy on my skin. I would dfinitely recommend this serum to friends.

I used the product for a month every night, I got to say I loved it. It left my skin feeling soft, hydrated and smooth. The contents wasn't oily and felt great on my skin. I'm not to sure of the price but I would have to say I would pay that little bit extra for the benefit of my face. I would highly recommend this product.

I received these capsules in return for a review. The capsule allows you to dispense the correct amount of product so there is no waste. The serum has a lovely rose tint and no smell which is always a plus for me. My skin felt velvety smooth as soon as the serum was applied. After a few days of use I could notice the difference in the appearance of fine lines, my skin felt softer and the texture was more even. I would definitely recommend this product.

I used this product for around 4 weeks, I am 47 and have dry skin. The little jar it comes in is cute and lightweight while still having a “luxe” look. The little capsules are easy to use and the amount of serum inside is just right to cover my face and neck without excess. However, I do think the capsules are a bit gimmicky and wasteful, I would rather a good airtight pump dispenser to minimise packaging while still preserving the product. I absolutely love that this serum has no fragrance, it was a pleasant surprise. It has a very silicon-slip feel when applying, and absorbs beautifully with no sticky or greasy residue. My skin felt very comfortable and hydrated after application, and my night cream absorbed well when applied over the top. I haven’t really noticed any changes in wrinkles after 4 weeks but I am guessing it would take much longer to see real results. I have, however, seen a reduction in surface dryness and flakiness. I enjoy the way it feels on application and my skin still feels hydrated and comfortable the next morning. After 4 weeks of use my skin does feel a little congested on my cheeks and forehead which is unusual for me, and I definitely feel the need to do a deep cleanse or pore cleansing mask. I’m not sure if this serum is to blame but it’s something to watch out for if you decide to try it.

This serum unlike others I have tried in capsule format, is non greasy - it glides on so perfectly. It's a silky, smooth with matt finish. Your skin is hydrated without feeling oily. The serum absorbs so well into the skin. Can I just repeat - love the matt finish! The capsules are easy to use and break off, and it's just the right amount. It is a little on the more expensive side, but I guess all good moisturisers come with a price tag. My skin is totally hydrated yet I have not noticed any lines being erased or minimised - time can only tell, I have only been using for a few weeks and this is not a magic miracle cream.

Great single dose of retinol. Gentle and had no peeling or dryness during use. Serum inside is silky and absorbable, does not leave skin look greasy. My skin is oily and have big pores, mid aged and need retinol to prevent wrinkles. And keep skin texture smooth and skin bouncy, elastic. I have used it at night after cleansing. Did not need exfoliation as I did before (2-3 times per week) and did not need to use acids while using these capsules. Did notice skin was kept smooth. Also serum is so well formulated that I could use it over lips and eye area. These are areas that age fastest I think. So I apply retinol always over. This formula was perfect to keep eye area smooth. Bit pricey and good for beginner users of VitA type of products. Now my skin is ready for prescripton VitA, still will use these in between on "rest" days (eye area especially, as formula is gentle)
