Great anti ageing foundation
I tried this cover girl foundation as I am always looking for anti ageing products and a wrinkle defying foundation seemed too good to pass up. It comes in a handy compact with sponge, perfect for throwing in my handbag for quick touch ups. It has a medium coverage, however the coverage is buildable but this suits me as I like a light to medium coverage, I don’t like heavy foundations. I did find it disguised my fine lines and pores quite well and it’s a tire slot hydrating and lasts all day without going caked or oily. I recommend using a good primer underneath for more lasting results. Overall I really liked this simply ageless foundation, it’s great for more mature skin
Great coverage
Although I liked the coverage of this compact makeup and the two in one foundation/moisturiser in one I did find it a bit more drying than the same foundation in the pump bottle. I still used my other products serums/moisturiser before applying it to add extra moisturise to my skin. I did find that it lasts all day and doesn’t pill or go cakey when used with other products. I also found it not to sit in my fine lines or wrinkles and leaves my skin looking more even toned. Overall a great foundation for anyone looking for an all in one foundation that can allow you to skip your moisturiser if you wanted to.
Not for me
This is was an interesting product to try and it really stands out on shelf.
This first issue i had with it was the packaging - even after a number of uses i still struggled to open the pack and find the sponge!
The consistency of the product that thicker than my normal product and i found it sat on the skin - the moisturiser did help but i still found it too heavy
I worried the sponge would start to smell in the packaging after a while.
I do think this product would be useful for your handbag as a backup or for touch up during a long term - but a mirror would be useful in this instance
really good idea - but just not for me
Great for mature skin
I was so excited to trial this product as I’m in my mid 30’s and starting to experience lines. I received the buff beige however it was too light for my face, but nothing a bit of bronzer didn’t fix. I enjoyed the coverage I felt it was a medium coverage and easily buildable. I liked to use the sponge provided to cover my face and felt going over it with a beauty blender to blend it was much more effective than using the sponge alone and was even better with a primer underneath than without . It gave me a great dewy finish and lasted most of the day. Very impressed with this foundation as it didn’t sit in my fine lines like other Foundations can. Definitely will purchase again with the shade suited to my skin tone as I felt it was great for an everyday foundation.
On-the-go Product
I had the pleasure of trying this product. It wasn’t quite the right shade for me but I liked it. It easy to apply, light weight and has good coverage. It is a great on-the-go product as you can apply easily and quickly. I definitely would recommend.
Light, glowy and natural.
So many pros to this product, I love when a foundation is pumped full of skin loving nutrients. When it comes to picking the best foundation for my skin type, I’m always a fan of natural, light to medium coverage, especially in the summer months. So this type of coverage worked for me. This foundation smooths and blurs pores. It doesn’t look cakey, it has a satin finish. And my favourite part? It gave my skin a natural boost in glow. I found the best application method is with a damp beauty blender, and I set it with a light powder under my eyes to prevent it from settling into fine lines. After 6+ hours it held up pretty well on a warm day. I have my all time favourite CC Cream that has been my go-to for a couple of years, having said that, this budget friendly option from Covergirl will be a happy addition to the makeup kit.
Flawless
I really like the product because for me it's easy to apply and very light. You don't need that much product to cover your face. My face looks flawless and smooth. But when it comes to wrinkle didn't work for me. I can still see it but aside from that the product is really good and i would still recommend this to someone.
Creamy, non-drying foundation
This is a creamy compact foundation designed for more mature skin types. It contains a cream foundation and anti-aging skincare ingredients swirled into one handy compact. The compact has a sponge enclosed which makes makeup application quick and easy. I tried the shade 220 Creamy Natural which suited my complexion well but seemed to have slightly pink undertones. I found this foundation glides on the skin to conceal imperfections well. It doesn’t settle into lines or look heavy or chalky. I found the coverage was medium and it lasted well during the day without leaving my skin looking dry or patchy. Overall it’s a good, affordable foundation for anyone who wants a natural finish, and a hydrating, smoothing formula.
Good but not for me.
I was delighted to try the Covergirl Simply Ageless Foundation in shade 220 Creamy Natural as I'm in my 40"s. At first I struggled with the packaging and couldn't work out how to open but then I worked it out. I think the packaging is brilliant for travelling and on the go touch ups but I have combination skin and I didn't feel like it had staying power even with a primer. I think it would perhaps suit someone with dry skin. I like the concept but it's just wasn't suited to my skin type unfortunately.
Great value for money
I was pleasantly surprised with this product. My usual go-to foundations are at the higher end of the market and I was a bit skeptical whether this would work. That skepticism faded after using this. It actually applies smoothly and evenly, giving you full coverage with a nice dewy finish that looks natural. It’s compact packaging also makes it ideal to take with you and use as a touch up when out.
Great foundation
I was pretty impressed with this foundation and have to admit I wasn’t expecting to be as I’ve never really gone for this brand when it comes to foundation so it was a nice surprise. I really liked that packaging and it was pretty slimline so you could easily take it out with you. Gives you a good, buildable coverage so really it’s up to you how you want it to look depending on how much you use. I didn’t find it drying but not did it make me shiny either so I think for me that was really what made it a winner. Even though I use sunscreen in my moisturiser, it’s always good to have it in your foundation as well so that was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a nice coverage without feeling like it is caked on.
Converted!
I was under the impression that cream foundations would be cakey and drying, but I LOVE this cream foundation. I use a makeup sponge to apply and find that this is such a neat and compact foundation, particularly on the move. The creamy texture is super moisturising and applies so smoothly. I often have trouble with foundation making my dry skin look even more dry, but this is hydrating and leaves an even finish all day! I will continue to purchase.
Great for dry skin
I've tried a lot of foundations from Covergirl and I've always found they work well for me. I hadn't tried this before but was excited as I turned 36 last month and have noticed that my skin is drier and I have been getting dry patches when I wear some foundations. This one wears really well and is great if you want a natural and light to medium coverage. I found it worked well with a sponge (it comes with a flat sponge, which is great for touch ups). It lasted for most of the day but I did find it wore on my chin where I'm prone to resting my hand on my chin. I like that Covergirl are affordable and are easily accessible. My only complaint is the packaging. It can be a bit fiddley to open. Overall the formula is worth the annoyance of the packaging.
Surprisingly good!
I received the Covergirl x Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in the shade 220 Creamy Natural to try. The shade was probably slightly too dark for me and I probably would have been better off trying the lighter Ivory shade but OK to use if I had a tan during summer.
I really love the concept of make up with skincare benefits however not entirely convinced that you could completely replace your standard face moisturiser and SPF with this product! This product does have SPF28 which I think all foundations should have as standard (in addition to normal SPF use!).
The packaging is quite unique. It's a cream foundation so the product is actually housed in the lid of the compact by opening with a twist. The base of the compact houses a powder puff for applying the cream foundation. I think due to the compact size it is great for travelling and can be used without a brush. However for quicker application, I did end up using a foundation brush to apply as I found it quicker to lift the product from the compact than with the puff.
Overall, I found it applied very smoothly and gave pretty good coverage, light to medium, leaning more towards the medium end of the scale. I didn't have to use concealer (though I do prefer a more sheer natural foundation and I am working from home). There is less product when compared to a liquid foundation but probably more when compared to a cushion foundation. I'd highly recommend this product and would try it in a lighter shade. The only negative is the very very limited shades on offer which is almost unheard of these days.
The Flawless Finish
I greatly enjoyed trailing out the COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Instant Wrinkle-Defying Foundation. It was easy to use and the coverage was great to hide away my imperfections. The foundation lasted well on my face as my skin was well hydrated so it helped it to look more natural and blended nicely into all those little spots without looking thick and unnatural.
The packaging is cute and it’s a good size to just throw into your handbag for any touch up’s when required. I loved the added benefits of the SPF20, vitamin c and hyaluronic complex as they help compliment my skin and make it look more beautiful as I get older.
I recommend this product if you want a simple to use and cost effective foundation to help make your skin look brighter and showcase a flawless finish.
Coverage is too light, a bit drying
I like the fact that this has a high SPF factor, so protects from the sun, and it had a good shade match for me. However although it feels more wet than cakey when I put it on, it did dry out my skin a little. My main issue though was it didn't cover enough; it was quite a thin layer which would need building up, which takes time and uses more product. Also sat in some wrinkles; best for younger skin south of 40 I think!
It’s not love
Thanks beautycrew for sending me this product to review. I was excited because at 36 my fine lines are starting to show and this foundation promises to cover lines and wrinkles instantly by floating over them not settling into them. This foundations has a beautiful texture and when I first applied it, it looked beautiful. It has a good medium coverage, the colour was a great match, it was weightless and hydrating but, and it is a big but, for me it settled into my lines in about 5 minutes! I tried with different primers and without primers and I just could not get it to work for me. This was not the biggest surprise as I haven’t yet found a cream foundation that works for me, it seems that liquid foundations work better on my skin.
The packaging is nice, it is sleek and made of plastic but has a bit of weight so feels sturdy. The sponge that comes with it isn’t really practical for applying it first but would probably be ok for touch ups on the go.
This product it is worth trying out if you are in the market for a new cream foundation.
Flawless satin finish
I was excited to trial this product and was impressed with the results. I found the color matched my skin well. The package was great, and sponge applicator was super easy to use- great to pop in your handbag for touch ups. My skin felt soft and hydrated, giving a flawless satin finish- covering my imperfections. My makeup lasted throughout the day.
Not bad for a drugstore foundation!
I normally don’t use drugstore makeup but this foundation is actually not too bad.
I tried the creamy natural foundation but it was too light for my skin tone.
I used a makeup sponge to apply it and it went on quite smooth with great coverage.
It kind of wears off after about 5 or so hours so that would be a negative for me as I don’t like reapplying foundation during the day.
I used a primer before foundation and set it with powder.
The foundation also has a broad spectrum SPF of 28, vitamin C along with Hyaluronic complex.
The compact should probably have a mirror attached.
This company is also cruelty free no testing on animals which is an added bonus.
This works !!!
Wow, this product really surprised me ! I usually use high end expensive full coverage foundations, so when I received this to try my expectations weren’t that high, especially with the promise of instant wrinkle defying, but guess what it works !!!! This foundation was amazing, it glides on beautifully and you won’t need too much to get the full coverage, which lasts all day. The added bonus for me was the SPF factor which is so important, and the fact that it’s the only foundation I’ve used that actually does minimise your wrinkles. It’s in a handy compartment which makes it a great product to have in your handbag and touch up when need be or even if need be. This is going to be a staple product personally for me.
