CHANEL Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer

I first purchased Chanel Glossimer about 20 years ago and when I recently fell in love again with Chanel cosmetics, the first thing I noticed about the current Glossimer range is that the reformulation is a vast improvement.  It's smoother, sleeker, more gel-like and feels heavenly.  There was also a bit of tweak with the doe foot applicator, making it a bit fuller and rounder (like a big Q-tip) for a more luxe feeling application.  I seriously want every colour in the collection because they are all stunning and quite different from what everyone else is doing.  Several months ago I had my heart set on a sheer vibrant peach and after searching Mecca's selection, I couldn't find what I was looking for.  Everyone else was offering mattes, glitters and bold opaque glosses, but I wanted sheer - kind of like a watercolour paint for my lips.  It took several months, but I found it in Chanel, which is why I love them.  It's their classic-meets-cutting edge style that sets them apart from the rest.  At $50, it's only slightly more pricey than other glosses in my collection and the quality and colour range is definitely worth it!

This is the epitome of a luxury lipgloss. Packaged so sleek in a transparent tube with a black lid, logo and gold accent, this glossimer just screams luxury. The colour range is quite unique and absolutely to die for too, with a range pinks, reds and nudes available from natural and sheer to rich and deep. I own the shade 204 Rose Tendre and it's a gorgeous muted pinky nude with some shimmer particles through it. I own nothing else like it. The applicator is a regular doe-foot applicator and makes it easy to apply the lip gloss. Because doe-foot applicators have a shape that I am most familiar with, I feel like I don't need a mirror to apply the lipgloss which makes it handy for on the go. The formula has a mild scent to it that is not heavily fragranced, nor offensive on the nose either. The formula of this glossimer is absolutely heavenly. Instead of being a thick, sticky and heavy product on my lips like other high ends glosses I've tried, this Chanel glossimer is super lightweight on my lips, with a velvety formula that glides on my lips with maximum comfort throughout the day. It's a gorgeous shimmer with a high shine impact and is actually a refreshing change when you think of the matte lip trend at the moment. The gloss I own is quite a pigmented colour and is long lasting. In fact, I think it's probably my longest lasting high shine glossimer in my collection. I can usually get 3-4 hours wear with this gloss and even when it fades there is a residual tint with a little shimmer that is just gorgeous. So even when it fades it's stunning! The gloss is pigmented enough to wear on it's own for a natural glossy shine, or it also layers perfectly on top of other lipsticks and in my opinion helps to prolong the wear of the lipstick underneath. The only thing I'll take a star away for is the price. It may be a little steep for those who are not used to buying and wearing luxury, high end items but in my opinion the price is worth it for the quality and pigmentation. It definitely adds a pop of luxury to my makeup.
