Keeps my skin soft and supple
This is a great moisturising lotion for the body. It is lightweight and absorbs fast leaving my skin feeling soft and supple. It love to apply this each night after having a shower. It is also really good for using after shaving my legs as I feel that it soothes the skin and reduces any irritation from shaving. It is also fragrance free and so it doesn't sting the skin at all. I like that it comes in a convenient pump bottle too. It's just a great product that works and I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a fragrance free body lotion.
Gentle moisturiser for very dry, irritated skin
This is a thick moisturiser that is very gentle and doesn't have any irritating ingredients or fragrance. It comes in generous sizes up to 1L and can be used on both the face and body. It is sometimes recommended by dermatologists for sensitive, irritated skin. It is quite heavy would suit dry to very dry skin better and is great for the times when you are suffering from dry, flaky or itchy skin or when your skin barrier is disrupted. It's not suitable if your skin leans towards the oily spectrum. It's better for night time, as it's not something that can be layered easily under make-up, especially since you'd need another sun protection product as it doesn't contain SPF. As a facial moisturiser it doesn't really have any useful active ingredients, when other brands such as QV and Cerave have ceramides and niacinamide etc, I feel that Cetaphil is falling behind and I would recommend other brands in preference to this.
Not for oily skin
Not great for oily combo skin, I used this every day and night for about 3 months before I realised it was way too rich for me and I ended up getting Millia from it, BUT for use on my body it is actually really good.
This moisturiser was recommended by my husband's dermatologist when he had dry, itchy skin. It is a safe and affordable option to use on the face and body. It is a heavy and occlusive moisturiser that contains no fragrance or irritants. It gives the skin a chance to repair its moisture barrier and prevent further moisture loss, and the effects last for hours. This will suit dry to very dry skin including sensitive. Oiler skin types would find it too heavy and sticky. For reference, I have combination skin and this does not work for me on the face at all, but I don't mind it on my body.
The formula does not contain any active ingredients for anti-aging or any antioxidants. If you want that little bit extra, there are other options on the market that are also dermatologist-approved for sensitive/compromised skin that contain ceramides or niacinamde or oat kernel extract. Or you could use another serum under this.
Pros
- a substantial amount of product for the price
- easy to apply on the go
- good for sensitive, combination and acne prone skin
- the consistency is nice on the face
- has a natural smell
- hydrates and moisturises dry skin without leaving it oily
Cons
- can be thick and suffocate the skin
Cetaphil is a wonderful choice of moisturiser for the body. It has a lovely creamy consistency, absorbs well and is fragrance free which means it won’t interfere with your perfume or body spray. I use it on my body (not my face) and it really does hydrate without being sticky, slimy or greasy. Thoroughly recommend for anyone looking for a body moisturiser that is effective and non-irritating.
My entire family use Cetaphil products. Namely the gentle skin cleanser and this moisturiser. This is because their products are fragrance free and are great for sensitive skin. This moisturiser sinks in nicely, not leaving you feeling sticky, and really nourishes the skin. I definitely recommend using, particularly over the dry winter months.
We always have Cetaphil in our house. I love this moisturiser too. Not so much for facial use but for body it is wonderful. There are no strong smells or irritants so it's perfect for post shaved legs. It's also a lovely light cream and doesn't leave a slimy slick feel after application. It gets absorbed into the skin beautifully. I swapped out my sorbolene cream for his and I find it just as hydrating. there are also no wait times for your moisturiser to dry. I am a huge fan of Cetaphil. It's a family go to.
I have used the Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion for years and still love it so much. Firstly it is fragrance free so it is better for the skin and the it is super affordable to use everyday throughout the year. I have dry skin and this lotion is perfect for my me during summer but not hydrating enough during winter. The lotion is not greasy or oily on skin and my skin feels so smooth throughout the day.
This lotion is Made in Canada and boy do those Canadians know how to make a high quality moisturiser that does what it says on the packaging.
I normally use a Cocoa Butter-based product with Vitamin E as well as a body oil but lately these products haven’t been cutting it – leaving me with dry, scaly-looking skin.
So I bit the bullet and shelled out for this Cetaphil body lotion which says it is also suitable for my face (I haven’t tried it on this body part yet). What a difference it has made to my skin. I have been using it for a month now but did see a noticeable difference in my skin’s texture within a few days of using this product.
I’ll definitely be putting this product on my “must-have” beauty staple list because it has "cured" my dry skin. A 1 Litre pump pack now lives on my bathroom vanity.
I have been using this moisturiser for years now - recommended to me by a dermatologist when I was 16 or so, and I'm now 26. I have formerly oily, now normal-dry sensitive and acne-prone skin, and it has worked for me at both stages. I have found it does not break me out. I use it for body as well - in winter, it's usually enough to keep my skin moisturised despite my penchant for lying directly in front of heaters, and in summer it's light and absorbs easily. I like being able to buy it in a 1L bottle. Sometimes in very cold or dry climates, or when using a retinoid, I supplement with a thin layer of Vaseline or switch to the heavier Cetaphil cream, but usually this moisturiser is fine by itself. I sometimes apply multiple layers throughout the day. It does leave my face a little shiny, but I don't mind that look. It's not magical - no special ingredients, doesn't visibly improve my skin anymore than you would expect any moisturiser to do - but for me it's great just because it so consistently does the basics: doesn't irritate, dry out, or break out my skin, and moisturises.
I began taking medication for my acne sometime last year and as a side effect my skin became extremely dry. This moisturiser literally saved my life. It’s so good for sensitive skin and great for everyday use. The bottle lasts for ages and is reasonably priced. This is a great product for someone with problematic skin or dry skin in general as it really allows the skin to soak up the product and keep it hydrated.
This product was recommended to me by my doctor after I kept getting dry skin on my face. I also have sensitive skin.
I have been using Cetaphil for years now and the actual product last ages too.
I mainly use it on my face and I don't need much for full cover. I find it isn't greasy and once it's rubbed in, you don't even know it's on other than feeling moisturized.
I also use this under make up and find it helps with even coverage.
It is very reasonably priced as well, great value. I recommend this product if you like the sound of it :)
I've been using this product for years after struggling with acne for years, after using this range and in particular the moisturising lotion which not only helped manage my acne breakouts but made my skin softer than it has ever felt. The lotion doesn't make your skin oily and is good to use before applying makeup, the product has little to no scent and you can use very little and it will still cover your whole face and neck.
Cannot recommend highly enough
give it a go!
Great every day moisturiser! I have one at home and have another bottle at work for my hands/arms! The best part about this moisturiser is that you can use this in Summer and it is not sticky or oily. It has a very light weight feel and very comfortable to wear. A must have!
When my doctor and I first discovered that I was suffering from Atopic Dermatitis this was touted as a very gentle brand and recommended by for babies, children, sensitive skin and the elderly.
So being 9 years old at the time we figured I tick two of the boxes and that this would be a safe product for me to use right?
Unfortunately no.
This stuff burned on application the first time I put it and also left the affected area dry and scaly. We were very lucky that we already knew to patch test knew products so the only area affected was my arm. We were also able to return this product and get our money back.
While I haven't purchased this product myself, I have borrowed some in recent weeks to see if I would still react to it and on eczema affected skin it still stung me.

This moisturiser is awesome! I struggle with breakouts, dry patches, and eczema, so I need a moisturiser that is hydrating and won't make my breakouts worse. And that is exactly what this moisturiser is!
It can feel slightly tacky after application, but it's not bad. I recommend this for people who need good, long lasting moisture.
IM IN LOVE!
For years I have been trying to find a moisturiser that can hydrate my dry patches and not irritate my highly sensitive eczema prone skin, and this is it!
It doesn't smell like anything really, its has a nice thin texture to it - its not thick and oily and a little goes a long way.
I put it on my skin after a shower and it is absorbed quickly but leaves my skin soft and fresh looking instantly. Its a life saver.
I love having this on hand for when my skin decides to give me grief. Whether it's breakouts (usually in summer) or redness from dryness (usually in winter) I can usually use a simple product like cetaphil and things will settle down. Its super light weight but manages to moisturise the perfect amount. I also love that its so ridiculously affordable.
The great thing about Cetaphil's products is that they are non-irritating against your skin. This includes fragrance free.
The downside of this moisturiser is that it doesn't give me enough moisturise and hydration.
I have hormonal skin but I still have dry areas on my face and need ingredients such as rosehil oil or jojoba oils.
So I was applying a few layers of this but this is good when you need some moisturise during the day and can quickly apply it on your face.
I believe this moisturiser is suitable for really oily skins.
