Great lightweight formula
The Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF 15 is a lightweight moisturiser which is great for daily use in the morning, and sits well under makeup. I love the idea of being able to incorporate a retinol alternative in to my daily skin care routine. This moisturiser comes in a nice pump bottle for controlled application. The moisturiser is lightweight and glides smoothly on to the skin, absorbing quickly. This mosituriser is rich with peptides, niacinamide and panthenol, which helps hydrate the skin and provide lasting moisture throughout the day. With daily use over a few weeks, I found that my skin was brighter and had a more even skin tone. My only fault with this product is that it is only SPF15, and living in Australia my skin requires much higher protection. I used my face SPF 50+ on top of this moisturiser, and they sat nicely together
Great basic day cream
I quite liked this day cream. Is it revolutionary, no, would I purchase it on sale, yes. I love that the formula isn’t scented or coloured, feels like a no nonsense dermatologist approved product. Stings the eyes a bit so just keep it away from that area. I like that it has sunscreen in it, but would prefer 30+ and a guide to how much is needed to get the stated protection, so I don’t need to wear a sunscreen on top. I liked the pump so my fingers aren’t contaminating the product in a pot. The fine lines on my forehead seem visibly reduced and my skin looks fresh and plump.
Great day cream that absorbs fast
Pros: Dermatologist tested, contains purified peptides, 24hr hydration, reduces wrinkles, SPF15 and comes in an easy pump pack which dispenses the perfect amount. My under skin felt hydrated and smooth after using. Worked well under foundation - didn’t cause any caking or adherence issues.
Cons: None! I was very happy with this product look, feel and use - however I would have preferred a higher SPF given how strong the Australian sun is. Perhaps a SPF 30+ to 50+.
Conclusion: Would 100% incorporate into my everyday skincare regime. Very happy with the use, feel & results! Was very pleasantly surprised how well it absorbed in and worked as a nice base under my foundations.
Lovely cream for sensitive skin
I tried the Cetaphil Healthy Renew day cream very recently and while it has some great benefits and was very easy to apply, it wasn't my favourite of the Cetaphil products. The day cream contains SPF15 and I tend to look for that more nowadays to combat sun damage, the consistency of the day cream was thicker than what I had anticipated and I wasn't a fan of the scent.
The product worked great on my sensitive dry skin and I was extremely pleased that it didn't cause any stinging of my eyes like some other products that contain an SPF factor. The cream being thicker was a lot easier to spread and a went a long way. My complexion and skin feels better for it.
There's so much to like about this day cream (including the packaging and easy pump dispenser), but my personal preference would be a cream that feels lighter on application and feel.
Renewing face cream
The Cetaphil Healthy Renew day cream definitely made my face feel more moisturized especially when being paired with the other Cetaphil products that I use in my morning routine.
I love that it has an SPF in it and that it comes unscented as I have quite sensitive skin. My only issue was I found it to be very thick for a day cream. Although that helps with the moisture side of things it had the consistency of a night cream. However doing my make after the face cream application was still fine. Makeup applied well over the cream even with it being thicker.
Overall a nice face cream that did have the renewing feeling and good to use especially if you are using it with the Cetaphil eye cream. They pair well together.
Great sunscreen, not so great moisturiser
I realised it’s actually a day cream, as well as a sunscreen WITH 30SPFT! Most western creams that have spf are usually around the 15 mark, so that was a plus. It comes in a really nice upside-down pump, so it’s hygienic and it dispenses really nicely and evenly. It claims to hydrate for up to 48 hours and help reduce visible signs of aging.
I was surprised to see how thick the texture was, it was more of the typical sunscreen-like texture at first when its dispensed, but when you spread it on your skin it feels slightly less thick, doesn’t too much of a white caste (this does go away quick as it oxidises) but it does have that slight fragrance of sunscreen. I didn’t like how thick it was, it would have been nice if it was similar to my Korean sunscreens (with 50SPF and are much thinner in consistency, more like lotions) and they don’t leave a white caste either. I wouldn’t have minded the thickness as much, but it felt almost gritty, that feeling that you get when you apply actual pure sunscreen to your face and body if you know what I’m talking about. I don’t like that almost gritty, dry feeling. It seems hydrating at first but it does start to feel drying. I do like however, it is 2 in 1 so if you’re short on time, this is really good if you just need to put on something and go.
Overall, I really liked the packaging and the cream with sunscreen, 2-in-1, but I’m not sure I would get this again as I didn’t like how it felt like traditional sunscreens and it goes on almost gritty, and it kinda felt drying too. It starts off hydrating and then it feels almost dry.
Simple yet mighty
This product such a time-saver having SPF and moisturising all in one, especially on busy mornings when I need to head out the door. The retinol alternative is a nice touch too—it’s great not having to layer extra products. The texture is spot on: rich enough to feel hydrating without being too thick, and my skin stays comfortable all day without needing a top-up. My face feels soft and looks healthy and moisturised, with a nice glow. I also like that it’s gentle on my skin, even with the anti-ageing ingredients. Highly recommend if you’re after an easy, effective daily moisturiser!
Perfectly lightweight
I loooove the Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream, Cetaphil never disappoints! I have been using this Day Cream each morning for the past few weeks. My skin is dry and also sensitive, and my skin just adored this before make up, or just by itself. My skin felt rejuvenated and moisturised each day. I also love that day cream does not have any fragrance. I have noticed that my skin texture and moisture level has improved so much after using this. I would highly recommend for anyone with dry and or sensitive skin!
Gave me a bumpy rash
I got to trial this product as a part of the review crew and was super excited to try it out.
Firstly the packaging is very practical and easy to use. I feel like you get a lot of product. The product it’s self is on the thicker side but feels like a lux cream.
My skin however did not take to well to it unfortunately. I have sensitive skin and noticed bumps all around my forehead after using this product.
I attempted it a few times but the same reaction occurred.
It’s a shame because I think I would have really enjoyed this product.
Lovely daycream
This is a great daycream and sunscreen in one product.
After applying the skin feels soft, smooth and hydrated. This cream is a lovely base under make up and soaks into skin well and is not at all greasy
The branding and packaging is great and the brand is very trustworthy. The pump packaging is fantastic and you only need a small amount of the product to be effective. Works so well with the other products in this range, such as the serum and the face and eye cream. Definitely saw a reduction in fine lines after using for 2 weeks so will definitely repurchasing this product
Only wish there was also a night cream!
Why the SPF 15?
This is a decent daily moisturiser, but I'm not sure why it has added SPF15. It's not high enough SPF to actually have any sun protection, so I'd prefer it if they didn't include it.
It’s lightweight, so it feels nice on the skin and absorbs quickly without leaving that greasy feel—great for throwing on before makeup. It hydrates well and leaves the skin feeling soft, but if you’re looking for something with anti-aging or other active ingredients, this isn’t super intense on that front. It’s good for a no-fuss daily cream, especially if you have sensitive skin, but nothing groundbreaking.
Overall, I’d give it 3 stars—it’s solid, but there are other day creams with more benefits out there at a similar price point.
SPF is too low for Australian sun
I was lucky enough to try Cetaphil’s new product - Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF15. I was a bit concerned using it instead of my usual SPF which is an SPF50, especially since I am so fair. It is quite thick and sticky for what I am used to and you need to rub it in a lot as it’s so thick and white when applied. After 10 minutes or so it absorbed really nicely in to the skin and did not feel heavy or tacky on the skin. Unfortunately it did not sit well underneath makeup and did notice some pilling when used in conjunction. I would not purchase this product due to the low SPF formula as well as the pilling with makeup use.
Highly recommend
Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF 15 is a fantastic moisturizer that perfectly balances hydration and sun protection. The cream has a lightweight texture that absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling soft and refreshed without any greasy residue.
I’ve noticed that it provides excellent hydration throughout the day, helping to keep my skin plump and smooth. The added SPF 15 offers peace of mind for daily sun protection, which is a huge plus.
I appreciate how gentle it is on my sensitive skin, causing no irritation at all. Overall, this day cream is a reliable choice for anyone looking to nourish their skin while protecting it from sun damage. Highly recommended!
Pretty good day cream
With my sensitive skin, I’m always on the hunt for a good day cream, so I was pretty excited to try the Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF15.
It’s super hydrating without feeling heavy, and I love that it has SPF15 for a bit of sun protection.
My skin feels soft and smooth all day, and it doesn’t irritate me or make me greasy, which is a huge win. I’ve been using it mainly by itself, but it sits well under makeup too.
Overall, it’s been perfect for my routine. I’m definitely happy with it so far!
Not the greatest moisturiser
I've recently tried a few of the cetaphil products and overall they are good. I wouldn't say fantastic. The cetaphil renew day cream SPF15 was not my favourite. It's very thick for a moisturiser and it didn't work well on my dry mature skin. I found it hydrating at first but within about 10 minutes my skin was dry and I reapplied and it was a bit better. I used it for a week before I had to moisturise with another product as my skin needed more. For mature and drier skin, I would not recommend. But other products are alot better.
Strong smell of sunscreen
Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF15 is a decent moisturizer for daily use, especially if you have dry or sensitive skin. It provides light hydration and sun protection, which is great for everyday activities. The texture is smooth and absorbs fairly well, leaving the skin soft without a greasy feel. However, the sunscreen smell is quite strong, which may be off-putting for some users. If you’re sensitive to scents, this could be a drawback. The SPF15 is also on the lower side, so it might not be sufficient for prolonged sun exposure, meaning you’ll need additional sunscreen. Overall, it’s a functional moisturizer, but the noticeable sunscreen fragrance and low SPF prevent it from standing out. It works well for a basic daytime skincare routine, but those looking for stronger sun protection or fragrance-free options may want to explore other products.
All rounder face cream.
First time using Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF15 and matched with the eye serum, face serum and micellar water, I can say all of these products are working hand in hand in my skincare routine. I enjoy applying the day cream in the morning before applying makeup, the product is very lightweight so is fine to use under makeup. My skin absorbs it so well there is no tacky or sticky feel some face creams have. The cream has a pleasant smell and I like the added SPF benefit incase I forget to apply sunscreen! I will continue using twice a day, and also recommending this face cream.
Love it
I found that after using this product for a couple of weeks that my skin did look more hydrated and firm. This product worked well at and will say that a small amount goes a long way. Didn’t have an empowering smell which is great too as sometimes with skincare this is a big deal breaker for me. This skin product range also didn’t affect my sensitive skin which was amazing cause I struggle with my sensitive skin and finding products that work without hurting me.
I definitely recommend this product to friends and family.
Good lightweight face cream
As someone with sensitive skin, it can be quite challenging to find a product that my skin likes! This day cream has a nice texture when applied to the face and when used with the other Cetaphil range you get an amazing glow! I absolutely loved this face cream, however the only downside for me is that I did not find it super hydrating. Once applied you have a nice glow and has SPF which is a bonus, however as the day went on I could feel my face getting tight and dry. It is a beautiful lightweight face cream and those with normal or oily skin which benefit from it a lot. I prefer a thicker hydrating cream that I only need to apply once. The cream sits smoothly on face and also makes a great base for applying makeup. A beautiful product, just wish it was more hydrating.
Hydrating day cream with SPF
Thank you very much to Beauty Crew and Cetaphil for letting me trial and review the new Cetaphil Healthy Renew Day Cream SPF 15.
Cetaphil has always been known for making basic cleanser and moisturiser for sensitive skin. This Healthy Renew line has changed my impression on the brand, and I no longer only see it as making fragrance-free products for skins with sensitivity or other issues.
Firstly this product is aesthetically pleasing. The inverted squeeze tube with a pump is my favourite skincare packaging for such a easy and hygienic dispense. Secondly, following the brand philosophy of Cetaphil this product is fragrance-free. Despite stating it is coming with 'retinol alternative' purified peptide, on inspection the main active ingredient is Vitamin B (panthenol and niacinamide). It also contains rice lees and edelweiss extract. But I genuinely cannot work out from the ingredients list what is this miraculous peptide. Peptides is a generic name for short amino acid chains which may activate the skin surface receptors to trigger downstream reaction in the cells - but each peptide would have some specific functions depending on the amino acid sequence. I think it's pretty important for consumers to be able to understand and work out what is the action of this peptide - and I wish there is clearer information on this aspect.
Otherwise, I found that the day cream is pleasant to use. It has a lightweight consistency suitable for day time use. Absorbed well into skin and I noticed a visible glow after just a week of using. My skin responds very well to niacinamide and I've always known that, so it wasn't a surprise to me. I ALWAYS adore a SPF moisturiser - even though I always use additional sunscreen on top of that - I think the additional SPF just helps with layering to obtain enough sun protection. No irritation to eyes and skin. Keeps my skin hydrated all day long.
I really enjoyed using this product.
