‘Peach Fuzz’ beauty: How to wear Pantone’s colour of the year

2024’s looking peachy

Beauty Crew Beauty Editor / December 14 2023

December has been inundated with Christmas shopping content as we countdown to the 25th, but Pantone’s announcement of 2024’s colour of the year calls for a pivot as we forecast our ever-evolving aesthetic over the next 12 months.

The Pantone colour of the year for 2024 has been dubbed ‘13-1023 Peach Fuzz’ and is described as a “velvety gentle peach tone” by the Pantone Color Institute™.

“In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a colour radiant with warmth and modern elegance,” explained Pantone’s Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman. “[It’s] a shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”

But more importantly, it’s an incredibly easy colour to integrate into one’s beauty routine.

‘Very Peri’ — the Pantone colour of the year in 2022 — was a hue reserved for evening eyeshadow looks and Spring-inspired manicures. Viva Magenta in 2023 was the perfect raspberry shade for flushed lips and cheeks.

‘Peach Fuzz’, on the other hand, feels like the neutral palette cleanser our beauty routines need.

Everyone’s tightening the purse strings and finding ways to cut unnecessary costs where possible. Buying 40-pan eyeshadow palettes, multiple lipsticks, nail polishes and paying for monthly trips to the salon to maintain cool-toned blonde hair just doesn’t make sense anymore.

If you’re over excessive makeup, hair and nail rituals and want to minimise costs, as well as the products in your routine, keep reading.

This is how to wear ‘Peach Fuzz’, the Pantone colour of the year.

Peach Fuzz makeup

A monochromatic splash of complexion-enlivening, peach-hued, multi-purpose cream makeup can be worn day or night on the lids, cheeks and lips with just the pat of a finger.

Opt for lots of blush sans mascara during the day and add a touch of old Hollywood glamour with a fine line of liquid eyeliner in the evenings.

Abstaining from nail appointments? It’s hard to f**k up an at-home manicure when you’re using a flesh-toned, peachy-nude nail polish you got for a discount at your local Chemist Warehouse.

A trip to the salon to reinstate icy-toned platinum blonde might set you back a few hundred dollars, but leaning into your hair’s warmer tones with a conditioning peach hair mask costs less than $50.
