Naomi Campbell’s travel routine is extra, but her in-flight face wipes are anything but
Naomi Campbell just uploaded a video to YouTube showing us her pre-flight routine, and it was quite a ride.
Besides the fact that she’s travelling in designer pyjamas and has a camera crew and entourage following her, she actually is pretty much all of us at the airport. Chugging down the remnants of water before going through security, picking up some international treats in duty free, playing with the beauty products to kill time, and the classic “I won’t get lollies for the flight. Actually, yes I will” scenario is all too familiar.
And then things take a turn (guys, we’re getting to her budget face wipes, SWEAR, but this is important territory to cover).
Naomi gets to her seat (business class, of course), straps on some latex gloves, gets out her Dettol wet wipes, and sanitises the Whole. Damn. Area.
“Clean everything you touch. Anything you could possibly touch, anything you put your hands on, everything,” she says as she gives a thorough wipe down of the TV, the armrest remote, the headrest, the seat, the window, the table, under the table, the aircon vent, literally every single surface of her business class cubicle. We’re not entirely convinced she didn’t wipe down the woman sitting behind her.
The final touch? A bright pink blanket she uses to cover her seat (she rotates through colours, changes them every week and hand washes them in her hotel, don’t worry.
Why the hectic sanitation?
“This is what I do on every plane I get on. I do not care what people think of me. It’s my health and it makes me feel better,” she explains (in reference to the insane amount of germs and bacteria that cover every surface of the plane, no big deal).
Okay, and now we get to the face wipes. While Naomi is busy harping on about hydration and face masks, she shows off her inflight beauty stash (in a plastic zip lock bag because celebs are just like us!) and that’s when we spy the face wipes:
Yep, that’s a pack of ol’ reliable and budget-friendly Johnson’s face wipes sitting in Naomi Campbell’s inflight beauty kit. We can’t be entirely sure which ones they are – packaging varies country to country – but if we had to take a stab, we’d say it’s the Johnson’s Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes (which retail for just $6.99 at Priceline).
Anyway, so there you have it – Naomi Campbell will spend a good chunk of time wiping down and sanitising her space on the plane (we could all take a leaf out of her book, TBH), but she will not spend a good chunk of cash on a pack of face wipes.
