Okay, hands up: who struggled in science class? Or moreover, who’s watched an episode of The Big Bang Theory assuming they were speaking another language before realising it was English and you simply didn’t understand the terms they were throwing about? We’ll be real with you - our hands are sky high – science is tricky.

An aspect of science we’re totally onboard with, though? Skin care. After all, it’s to thank for our glorious glow levels, for which we are eternally grateful. So if you’re keen to get involved in a complexion-centric science class (sans Bunsen burners, mixing bowls only), we’ve rounded up the mix-it-yourself ma bound to leave you feeling like a science whiz.

Here’s the sitch: two sachets - your rose gel (let’s call her sachet 1) and your rose petal powder (meet sachet 2). Use the spatula to mix the two together for one minute, and then once your Modelling Mask gel is formed, paint it on, peel it off and prepare to be blinded by the bright sight of your face in the mirror.

Well, hot damn, we’re getting syringes involved. Let’s definitely steer clear of DIY Botox though, and opt for a little exfoliating action instead with this green clay and matcha mask. Use your activator liquid syringes to, well, activate the powder (did the name of them give it away?), mix into a paste, then apply and leave to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing away with warm water.

A science session with a side of soothing benefits? Sign us up. This calming treat pairs a hydrating serum with a dry mix of restorative compounds from the ocean (damn, fancy). Mix the two phases vigorously (this counts as a workout, right?) until they form a liquid mousse mask, then smooth over your face. Let it dry for 20 minutes, then enjoy the pure satisfaction of peeling it away.

Let’s call this one a collab: the brand provides the bowl, the spatula and the charcoal powder, and you bring the water (30mls to be exact). There’s a trick to it, though: this charcoal only likes filtered or bottled water. She’s boujee like that. Blend those bad boys together to make the refining mask, then apply to skin and leave to set for 10 minutes. Done? Great – just lift it away from skin; removing any leftover excess with a warm, damp cloth.

This mochi mask may look like a mini ice cream container, but shockingly, what’s actually inside is far more exciting. Because what your skin has been craving is a little help in the plumping, smoothing stakes. Pour the powder packet contents into the cup, then add the liquid agent and stir with the spatula until well combined (30 seconds should do it). Split the mixture in half, and spread an equal amount onto each cheek – take note of the bouncy texture while applying - your face will soon feel just as buoyant.

Don’t have a bowl? Not a problem. You literally mix this mask up on your skin. Start by applying a thick layer of the detoxifying charcoal gel onto clean dry skin, then move straight onto the next step, no rinsing required. Layer a generous amount of the oxygen foam booster on top, massaging in circular motions, and prepare for a foam party on your face (this means it’s working). Leave on for three minutes, and then use the little blade to slide the peel off your face, revealing the purified, glowy skin beneath.
