If anyone can make the chignon cool again, it’s Meghan Markle
It’s about to make a HUGE comeback
Yep - you heard it here first, people. The beloved chignon is making a comeback. How/why? Well, Meghan Markle stepped out sporting the classic style this week, and now she’s got us reconsidering our stance on them for everyday wear.
The Duchess of Sussex recently paid a visit to the National Theatre, wearing her glossy brunette locks swept back in the chicest, most sophisticated and downright stylish chignon we’ve ever laid our peepers on.
*Cue global chignon outbreak*.
On top of that, her fringe was sleekly parted off to the side, and the rest of her hair was worn slicked back (yep, not a face-framing tendril to be seen!) and voluminous at the crown.
We told you it looked good. The best part is that it’s a super simple style to pull off, and it’ll pretty much suit any hair type (though those with lob styles or shorter may find it a little trickier to execute.)
If you want to add a little height like Meghan, second day hair will give you the grit and hold you need to make extra of volume at the crown work.
However, if you’re after a cool, more relaxed ‘I just threw this together in a second’ style, you can always go for a messier fly-away vibe - just check out our five tips on mastering this look here.
Also, just a quick side note separate to the whole chignon situation: can we please talk about THAT glow?! Her skin is luminous!
Could it be that pregnancy glow? A killer highlighter? The crystal massaging? A combination of all three? Whatever it is, it’s working.
